An OU team that probably sucks, lol.

OKAY! So, uh....yeah! This is my team! It's kinda like a sweeper/Stall team but not 100% one or the other....so, here's the team! P.S. I can't change ev's on team members as they are all pokesav'd. If ur refering to shoddy its okay. But I'd prefer you refer to D/P Wifi battling.

abomasnow.png

Abomasnow@Focus Sash/Sassy Nature/Snow Warning
IV's not maxed: 0 Spe
EV's: 252HP/76Def/84Sp.A/96Sp.D
-Blizzard
-Wood Hammer/Focus Punch
-Leech Seed
-Protect/Substitute

OK! This is my lead! It's Abomasnow! He's basically just here to set up hail as hail makes stalling for some of my pokemon much eaisier. His moveset lets him live through some neutral attacks and set up LEech Seed! Protect is to let hail do more damage adding up for whatever it was inflicted on. CONSIDERATION!: I am testing a Tyranitar lead in place of Abomasnow. PLease lmk what you think of this and what would be the best, most effective moveset for a lead-Tar.(as I have no idea what set to use.) THANKS! PLus, I'm testing a Lead Hippowdon. so far, I'm liking the Hippowdon the most.

clefable.png

Clefable@Leftovers/Bold Nature/Magic Guard
EV's:252HP/128Def/128Sp.D
-Cosmic Power
-Toxic
-Softboiled
-Seismic Toss/Flamethrower

OK! Clefable is, imo, the queen of stalling! All I have to do is have Toxic on something or Toxic Spikes inflict poison on a switch in. All I have to do is Cosmic Power a couple times and her defenses will be way up there and backed up with Softboiled healing when needed. Seismic Toss is for reliable damage and Toxic is for Flyers who are immune to Toxic Spikes. Basically stall out the opponent with Toxic, Hail, and if the lead is still there with leech seed that too!(next one up sets TS by the way.) Plus! Clefable's Magic Guard protects is from residuel damage such as weather, SR/Spikes, Poison, Burn and such! IT's amazing! lol, just thought I'd add that. Flamethrower is an option over Seismic Toss to handle those pesky steel types better.(P.S. , I've had LOTS of success with this beating many common sweepers...) (P.S.S She has obvious counters but nothing my team can't handle.)

tentacruel.png

Tentecruel@Black Sludge/Calm Nature/Liquid ooze
EV's:204HP/36Spe/96Sp.A/172Sp.D
-Toxic Spikes
-Surf
-Rapid Spin
-Giga Drain

Ah Tenttecruel.....he does so much for my team. WEll, not really but it's enough! >.< He sets up Toxic Spikes pretty much allowing my team to stall out switchins that don't have Levitate, Flying or Poison or Steel type. Which is the majority of pokemon. :) Giga Drain give it a small way to get some more health back and Rapid spin is to blow away annoying SR's and Spikes. :)
CONSIDERATION!: I'm testing a Forretress over this guy. He takes hits better and since I decided to switch over to T-Tar, he'll be immune to the sandstorm. Plus he does all the same things as 'Cruel except now this thing can EXPLODE! lol. I'm not liking Forretress to much, so right now I am trying out a Cloyster. Now don't bash me about using unique pokemon. I'm using this guy a lot better that i am forretress. Especially with the double screens. AGAIN, it's a lot better....

rotomheat.png

Rotom-Heat@Light Clay/Bold Nature/Levitate
EV"s:252HP/88Spe/136Sp.D
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Discharge
-Overheat

OMG ITS A POSSESED OVEN! >.< This thing basically is to block rapid spin attempts and to function as a screener! Rotom has many resistances to many of my teams obvious weaknesses! Rotom is also quite bulky so he can take a beating! People will usually have a hard time taking this guy down as Rotom is just plain amazing. Discharge is for a chance at PAra against pkmn immune to the TS and Overheat is to handle pesky Steel Types... :) A NOTE!: I don't use this on my Pearl game but instead a Mono Attacking Spiritomb from the analysis. Look there if you need to see that moveset.

mamoswine.png

Mamoswine@Salac Berry/Jolly Nature/Snow Cloak
-Endeavour
-Ice Shard
-EQ
-Substitute

Ok....a unique but effective Mamoswine set. Basically sub down and endeavour when the sub remains up. Usually slow opponent's will be against him so speed is rarely an issue. And when he's end'd them down enough then he can hit with priority ICe Shard from STAB or EQ after a Salac Boost if he's reached that Pinch berry point yet. But, all in all, effective to have on here. A CONSIDERATION/NOTE!: Mamoswine will be useless if I don't have hail and if I decide to switch over to T-Tar than I'd need something that can go over Mamo. I have no idea what to put so ALL reccommendations are being taken into account! He hasn't been very helpful lately but I want to know if anyone has any ideas about what can go over him.

heatran.png

Heatran@Choice Scarf/Naive Nature
EV"s:252Sp.A/252Spe/6HP
-Fire Blast
-HP Ice
-Earth Power
-Explosion

Standard ScarfTran. Outspeeds many threats for revenge kills. He also takes many of the attacks aimed at my team members as he resists many of their weaknesses most notably, FIre. He can switch in on Fire and recieve that boost. Explosion is to catch Blissey switchins. :)

SO, uh, YEAH! That's my team! I have problems with most PHazers, Critical Hits, MEtagross(or most steel types), and well, Tyranitar and a lot of things. PLease lmk what I can fix! >.< ANYTHING! REALLY! ANYTHING!

I'm assuming 0 IVs for Abomasnow is to get the weather on your side? If that's the only reason, then you can give him up to 17 IVs, I believe (check the math on that one), and still be slower than a Hippowdon with 31 IVs, Impish nature. If you were thinking about taking less damage from Gyro Ball, then leave the IVs where they stand.

Clefable is walled by any Steel-Type that has Recover / Roost / Rest-Talk. You "stall" strategy hits some major weaknesses here, since Steels, Flyings, and Poisons avoid Toxic Spikes, and Poison-Types are immune to Toxic as well. Once Heatran is gone, you'll have trouble with those. CB Nidoking in particular, though rare in OU, can do a lot of damage to Tentacruel, OHKO Heatran if not OHKOed first, and do a lot of damage to the rest of you team.

Before I give any other comments, I'd like to see what other people think; however, since I'm wrong with my statistics some of the time. Fix the glaring weaknesses to Steel / Poison in the meantime.

Well.....I don't know what to change. I'm post these forums to find out what I need to replace on my team. I was considering a Perish Trapping Mismagius though....:)

i mean get rid of toxic on cleffable and add bellydrum for soft boiled put drain punch and leftovers put salac berry

Well.....I don't know what to change. I'm post these forums to find out what I need to replace on my team. I was considering a Perish Trapping Mismagius though....:)

That's different. It could work, but I'm not sure. I have seen Perish Trappers work in Shoddy before, but Mismagius might have trouble against some of the stronger Physical attackers, such as . . . Salamence or Tyranitar. You'd have to ensure she can survive for at least 2 turns (presumably switch on turn 3) to give a good shot at that strategy working. I'm not well acquainted with Perish Trappers, so I'm not sure if there are bulkier versions, but perhaps you could check that?

I still think, despite it being a stall team, you should add in a fire move to someone besides Heatran, just as a back-up. Steels, specially Skarmory and Metagross, don't fear anything besides him in your moveset. Even Mamoswine has trouble against Metagross, since Meteor Mash does a lot.

Never Fear WCF, I'm here to rate this new team of yours ;) First thing I see is the hail on your team without any real reason to back it up. I would seriously consider first of all a Stall rein to go over your Clefable, why would you have Clefable stalling on a hail team when you can have Walrein. The simple moveset of Substitute / Protect / Surf / Toxic is enough to give any pokemon a hard time when it has it's Ice Body activated. Spiritomb is pretty cool provides a nice Fighting resist and tentacruel will deal with mixape and all which is good too. I would go with Shadow Ball on Spiritomb for the ability to hit those fighting types hard (especially Machamp who is a bit of a bitch to this team)

If steel types and a few fighters are a aproblem for your team you could try sticking a Slowbro in over Tentacruel (It will be at the expense of Toxic Spikes though) Slowbro is well renowned for being the best Machamp counter in the game and does quite well against Metagross if it lacks Thunder Punch. Metagross with Thunder Punch you can easily deal with using Mamo if you predict correctly, as I am yet to see bullet punch and Thunder Punch on a Metagross (Usually they will run Mash / EQ / Explosion and then TPunch / Bullet Punch / Ice Punch) if banded and if they are Agiligross they tend not to have Thunder Punch or Bullet Punch at all (Admittedly mamo will have problems with Agiligross but Slowbro won't)

I would also go with Substitute > Protect on Abomasnow as well. Sub seeding is a much more effective strategy than protect seeding as when you use protect you are effectively giving your opponant a free turn whereas when you use Sub, you are delaying your descision until the next turn which is much more effective. You could also slap Focus Punch > Wood Hammer if you find you have more need of it. I don't think there is more more to say now, you can't do much about critical hits >.< If you have any more specific probelms feel free to come back and ask for more help.

THANKS! I'll look into what you've posted and change accordingly! I still haven't got to changing Spiritomb to Rotom-Fridge so, yeah...:) TEll me if that's a good option.

I suggest getting rid of Abomasnow altogether. There are much better leads, and his 4x fire weakness isn't helping your team at all. I use Clefable in UU and OU, and I agree, she is amazing! The moveset you use is good, but it's completely walled by Steel types, so replace Seismic Toss with Flamethrower. Some special attack evs could help you with Metagross and Skarmory. Rotom looks okay. I've never seen a Mamoswine with Endeavor, but it looks okay on paper. Tenta looks okay. Heatran is the only poke on your team with a standard moveset. This team needs a little bit of work, but overall, I like it. It's original. :)

Hope I helped.

-Technicolor Apocalypse

THANKS! AND SHE *IS* AMAZING! She walls like no other! I decided to test that moveset over STallrein for a while and she works for me better than Stallrein does! ANd I'm gonna keep Abomasnow by the way. He's usefull. And yea, I'll get rid of Seismic Toss. :) PLus, what kind of moveset would I give a Slowbro? :)

Mamoswine works fin in Sand Storm too. I'm not sure what to do about Rotom. I've seen mono-attacking Spiritomb work really well, but it's always walled very easily. Tyranitar could run an Anti-Lead moveset, Choice Band moveset, or the really defense moveset (the one with the Careful nature), all of which are in the Platinum updates section where all the Pokemon revamps are. Forretress seems like a good idea, since he is provided good synergy from Heatran, who absorbs his only weakness, but Explosion doesn't always get to work.

If you want to try out those new Pokemon, just implement them in Shoddy and test it out for a while. . . it may work slightly better.

OK, so starting with your lead Tar, I think you should go with either a Band Tar, or perhaps even a Boah. Anytrhing with substitute would work quite well but you'll have to watch out for lead Scizor, but if you run Tar Jolly youll probably outrun most Scizor anyway as they dont tend to run Jolly with too many Speed EVs. I you definately want to beat 252 Adamant Scizor you'll have to run a Jolly Nature with 252 EVs. Most Scizor will probably U-Turn on you so you may get a Sub up and then watch them break it as they U-Turn out, a fairly decent exchange. The Anti-Lead Tar that Endlesaurus Rex suggested will be a really good idea, as you could also sub turn one as Scizor switched in and then Fire Punch it as it breaks your sub, they wont like losing their Scizor to that.

Why don't you just run something like Cut Rotom or Hot Rotom over Fridge Rotom. I mean they will provide the same resistances, same type coverage, but you wont have the snnoying accuracy of Blizzard and you will be able to counter things better. I would suggest Hot Rotom simply because it can use overheat that you can use to counter Metagross and Scizor and Rotom will still have the same coverage that it did against fighters. Leeftovers will negate Sandstorm damage and you have rest anyway. So The moveset would be something like

~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk
~ Discharge
~ Overheat / Shadow Ball

doing a very similar job to what fridge rotom was doing which is cool. I see no reason why you wouldn't run Forretress over Tentacruel as it does do a similar job, and it will allow you to explode at the end. The only problem that might occur with that is whether you might end up not having much time to rapid spin, and you know you need to keep toxic spikes on the field for Mamo who I will come on to next. I'd go with Forry but if you have trouble removing Toxic Spikes then go with tenta cos she can remove them without even having to attack.

Mamo should stay as it is, its still immune to sandstorm and will still play exactly the same. Theres nothing that really needs to be changed. Still having problems with a specific threat, come back and tell us and we'll sort it out for you :D

OK! THANKS *SO* MUCH EVERYONE! You people are AWESOME! lol. I'll look into Tyranitar more. And DUH, I'm gonna use Hot Rotom since it can cover steels with their weakness and resist a lot of their attacks just like the fridge did! Im gonna make the switch to Forretress. And for MAmoswine, I guess I'll keep it for a while longer just to see how it does in SS instead of hail as SnowCloak is what really makes the set fun to use, but, we'll see what happens! AGAIN! THANK YOU SO MUCH! BOTH OF YOU! :) PLUS!: I'm really confused on what T-Tar set to use, but I'll lyk when I decide! Suggestions would be nice! :)

I plan to try out the lead tar set on the team I'm currently using so I'll edit this post with the results later :D

You team doesn't benifit from Hail that much. Walrein somewhere?
And how is Softboiled legal with Magic Guard? I'm happt it is, but how can I get such Clefable for Wi-Fi?
And I must say using Rotom-F on a Hail team is very original. Great team overall!

From what I have seen lead Tar works very well. I have seen Stathakis talking about it and I used Sub, I subbed on the first turn, and then (as I had no suport anywhere else, generally SRd. Especially against Azelf who find themselves with their sashes broken and with an opponant behind a Substitute. I ran Sub / SR / Flamethrower / Crunch, and it worked quite well but the set could probably benefit from thunderbolt as well, Gyara like to switch in :P SR might also work here though as you dont have the support anywhere else, well I hope at least you might want to try it and see how well it goes. If I faced infernape leads I went straight out to Gyarados. This broke the sashes of Endeavor versions and CC / Fire Blast ones hate gyarados anyway :D although this will work with any mixape counter. I hate endeavor ape lol
