An animated battle for you!

Cartoons, that game is fantastic! I'm so glad you chose to use CAP pokemon in the game. And the little flourishes you put in each move pose -- they are just brilliant! You never cease to amaze me with your creativity and your artistic talent.

I've probably said this a few times, but Cartoons, you are AWESOME! You consistently create top-quality art for the CAP project, and then we turn around and you're making it into a game!

Hey, Cartoons, is this fighting game of yours going to just have CAP Pokemon in there? Cuz I think I just had a nerdgasm imagining some existing Pokes duking it out Street Fighter-style made with your pro animation skills.
Btw, voted for you and really hope your CAP wins! It is billiant!

Hot damn Cartoons! Just sprinkle me with hot sauce and call me Larry, those vids about blew my mind!

I loved the little artistic flourishes you put on each of the CaPs to make them unique, such as Syclant's enlarged thorax and Revvy's exaggerated hands and torso. I may be biased here, but I am most definitely going to be playing as Revvy when this game comes out haha.

Are these drawn sprites you got here?

Thanks for the comments guys. It's a slow process, but I've really enjoyed working on this game.

I'm not planning on having any official Pokemon in this game, no. It would be awesome, yeah, but I want to keep this primarily as an homage to CAP.

Yeah man, most of those exaggerations to design were for practical purposes and to help define a clear silhouette for each character(as well as to make it clearer what part of the body hit what part of the body). Rev's gonna be beast, I think. He's kind of slow and needs to get in close, but he can take a huge beating and can dish it out too. A couple of abilities he has that weren't displayed in the vids is his super damaging Super and his 'Rest' ability, which renders him immobile but allows him to slowly regenerate his health. Pyroak likewise has 'Battle Armor' which wasn't really displayed where he can absorb an attack, and retaliate quicker than the opponent can recover but which requires strict timing (think parry).

The sprites are drawn in Flash rather than pixellated which is, yeah, the traditional method. I just find it quicker to work with and the results aren't so shabby anyway.

Wow, that is absolutely amazing you're talent knows no bounds. I can't wait to see Arghonaut or CaP 8. It's really cool to see that the common builds were taken in to account, like Rev being a bulky rester who can dish it out. The moves and attention to the details of the more important aspects of fighting games is great. Little things that you mentioned like keeping the game balanced and clearly defining what hit where are really important for fighting games.

Edit: Also, in those clips was it all AI fighting and what are the blue bars at the bottom of the screen? Are they the "super"? If so that's even more impressive and awesome. :)

jesus christ Cartoons!, i can't get over this

not only do you consistently pump out art that has us all spamming your thread up with endlessly with praise, but now you've started on a beat-em-up featuring your own art?

do you ever take a break!?

it looks absolutely incredible, man

I gotta say, that Fighter you have going is looking to be really cool.
I hope it gets online like Street Fighter IV.
I would main Pyroak.
Yeah...

I like how authentic of a game this is. It even follows a lot of the stereotypes for character design established in games such as Street Fighter and Guilty Gear.

You got Syclant as the fast brawler type(thats what it looks like at least, correct me if I'm wrong) similar to that of Jam in Guilty Gear or Vega in Street Fighter.

Then Revvy is your slow, bulky grappler, like Potemkin or Zangief.

And Pyroak seems to emphasize on range, with other options for close combat, like Ryu/Ken, or Ky/Sol.

I personally would love to play as Revvy, because grapplers were always my thing. (Don't mess with Potemkin)

Fantastic.

PS: I know you don't know me but I've been lurking CAP since CAP 3 and become a huge fan of yours when you first drew Fidget.

There are no words available in my vocabulary that do justice to this, so please forgive me for not saying a thing.

I am thrilled and I look forward to Fidgit especially, once I'm done re-watching the already uploaded videos that is.

Holy shit man. Cartoons!, you are amazing.
I honestly can't wait to see Fidgit Rapid Spinning and doing various arm attacks. When the demo comes out, I think I would enjoy Syclant the most.
