I just simply have been looking for these for a looong time now. Watching the Olympics is just simply amazing, they are phenomenal athletes who capture teh imagination fo millions. I've been watching as much as possible today on nbcolympics.com
I'm a highschool XC/Track runner so what I look for is that 1500/5000 doubel from Laggat. And basicallye evry track event is justs imply gonna be blazin. Also the us has Micheal Phelps. He holds World Records in several events and has been setting records since the age of 15. He coudl bring home 8-9 gold medals!! That's amazing. And man oh man with Tyson looking fro that gold in teh 100 meter (he cramped up and failed to qualify in the 200 meter unfortunatly so no double gold for him).
My personal favorite is Leonel Manzano (1500 meters). he won't win teh event but he's just and idol of mine, especailly after the way eh won the NCAA championship iin the 1500.
Aaaaah a fellow track runner on these forums; we have four captains for outdoor next year (me being one of them), and 2 of us play. I don't think Leo is going to win, especially over Lagat. My friend isn't a fan of Bernard because he's just become an American citizen and he thinks it's unfair, but that's part of what makes America great: different people being able to come here and share what skills they have. And this could be one of the best 100 meter fields in olympic history.
yea being beaten in the medals by India is embarrassing :(
Currently either 3rd or 4th in the medal standings, I think.
I wasn't going to contribute to this thread, but I just found out a guy I beat in provincials like 5 or 6 years ago in wrestling is an olympian now for team Canada! At least that's the buzz on the streets around here. Go figure, him and I were national champions in different weight classes at the same time!
Small world. Anyone else know some olympians?
No, but my mom used to work with one of the guys who won gold in Athens for rowing, and one of the teachers at my summer school was in an event for USA in Atlanta. There's a couple more, can't remember (they're from various unimportant connections anyhow.)I wasn't going to contribute to this thread, but I just found out a guy I beat in provincials like 5 or 6 years ago in wrestling is an olympian now for team Canada!
