Tournament Overview:
This is a ladder tournament where every week the top 6 players on the Gen 9 Random Battle Ladder on Pokémon Showdown at the end of the week (with the specified name prefix) will qualify for a single elimination playoff bracket. The sign-up post for Cycle 1 will go up exactly on September 9th and the prefix will be revealed at that time. All games involving someone with the ladder prefix will be made public, and there will be a RBLT subroom on Pokémon Showdown to view the leaderboard and spectate matches.
Tournament Details:
Duration: 4 weeks, One cycle per week
Qualification: Top 6 make it from each cycle
Wildcard: 1 random Top 100 player from each cycle qualifies too
Total Qualifiers: 28 players, #1 of each cycle gets a first-round bye
Seeding: #1 of each cycle ordered by ELO, then ELO for all others
Playoffs: Single Elimination Knockout Best of 5
Top 100 refers to Top 100 RBLT accounts, with the condition that they also have to have the minimum elo to show up on the GAIA prime leaderboard (usually means top 500 on the ladder as a whole)

1. The host of this tournament is freezai. We will be using the regular Pokémon Showdown Gen 9 Random Battles ladder for this tournament, not a new one. This will ensure maximum activity and competition.
2. The qualification period for the RBLT will run for a total of 4 cycles with roughly 7 days per cycle. After each 7-day cycle, the top 6 accounts that appear on the leaderboard (using ELO) at the end of the cycle with the sign-up criteria explained in each cycle's sign-up thread will qualify for the playoffs of the OLT. Playoffs will follow the format explained here. The ladder is not reset after each cycle; only alts are (meaning you create a new alt after each cycle).
3. Once you make the top 6 and qualify (this does not mean making the top 6 at any given point during the cycle, it means being in the top 6 at the end of the cycle), you’re qualified for playoffs. You are free to ladder any other week you wish. NEW: If you want to try and improve your placement, your seed will only improve if you get the #1 seed. E.G if you get 5th in Cycle 1, and 1st in Cycle 2. You can use your cycle 2 placement to get a bye, and the 7th seed from Cycle 1 will instead qualify. This only applies for the #1 seed, you won't be able to improve your seed or elo in this way.
4. Given that this is a ladder tournament, many of you are likely thinking there are ways people can cheat the system. We are aware of these issues and have been working with PS admins to monitor and patrol instances of cheating. Any person found cheating will be subject to strict punishments.
To add onto that: if we have a reason to believe you forfeited or tied a game that you don't believe to be lost or endless respectively, you will be sanctioned.

How to Signup:
There will be another signup thread that goes up when Cycle 1 starts. There, you will have to sign up by declaring your new account name.
Note:
If any rule is not mentioned here, assume that we follow the ruleset of Smogon's OLT.
