Welcome to the first (and probably last!) edition of the ADV BL ladder tournament! Since the Showdown admins graciously decided to give us a ladder for the tier, we figured it'd be best to capitalize on that and host a ladder tournament!
Okay but what actually is ADV BL?
ADV BL is the largest "ban list" of any tier with a whopping 46 Pokemon! Unlike most other BLs, the vast majority of these mons have never even touched UU, being contained in this tier due to objectively bad tiering policy from when ADV was current gen. And unfortunately, the tier has never really seen much serious play due to being wedged in the middle of two very popular tiers.
Until now!
If you're looking for a tier to learn without much commitment, I'd say this tournament is a great opportunity. I'm very biased when I say this but I think the tier is extremely underrated and there's so much more room for the tier to grow! It has strong breakers, sturdy walls, dangerous sweepers, and all the archetypes that you'd expect to see in a tier. ADV BL deserves so much more love and I hope you're willing to give it a shot.
Tournament Rules
- This tournament will take place on the "[Gen 3] ADV UUBL" format on the main Pokemon Showdown server.
- This tournament will consist of four cycles that will last for roughly seven days each. After the deadline, the top four accounts for each week will qualify for a final BO3 single-elimination bracket. The winner of the final bracket will receive $100.
- Seeding will be based on the final elo for each of the qualifying accounts. The highest elo will be #1 seed and vice versa for the lowest elo.
- You must create a new account for each cycle with a prefix to signify that your account is participating in the tournament.
- Accounts must be created after a cycle is started. Any accounts that are pre-made will be disqualified.
- Any forms of cheating, such as ghosting, are not allowed. You will be infracted if caught cheating.
- You may only provide one account when signing up for each week. Do not edit your post to change the account.
- If you need to use a different account for whatever reason, delete your post and sign up again.
- Alt names that break PS! rules will not be allowed to qualify.
- You MUST use the template below when signing up.
