That depends on the seed you want but usually it shouldn't be that high, for B/W the initial delays start at 1000+ so

ya; i know i need 2 ds's. I have a 3ds preordered/fully pad off...so ill just play through normally take my time enjoy the game. Once 3ds comes out ill start poke shifting etc =D
