idk if this is considered a hot take or not but i quite like the BDSP renders
They're just very crisp and pleasant to look at for me. They strike a nice balance between being good 3D recreations of the characters/Pokemon portrayed without feeling too "artificial" or "plasticy" like some have complained about the Home renders.
Only one that's a little off to me is Chimchar but that's more because of the weird way his arms are bent

To me they look like fan-made Smash renders. Not Smash renders. Specifically fan-made Smash renders.
though at this point i think ohmura is the one typically handling trainer art
Is it just me, or do the new versions of Lucas/Dawn look very slightly younger than the originals? The originals look like they could pass as young teenagers, while these look like pre-teens. Might just be me though.
Hm, I think it's the eyes. The DP versions eyes were more slimmer vertically, giving the face a more mature look. The remakes eyes are more wider, giving off a younger appearance. The face us also less sharper and more rounder. It's actually more comparable to their faces in Platinum which also gave them wider eyes and rounder faces.

Well unless they use the Platinum Dex/expand the DP dex in other ways, probably would be the most logical decision unless you like Ponyta family or don't want a Fire-type on your team.

I agree. Don't see why people are getting so mad over it. They got what they asked for.

If you're gonna get up on your high horse and scoff at all the hypocrits who "got what they asked for" you better be prepared to back up that claim.
Tons of people asked for dp remakes and when the trailers came out and everyone got what they asked for a high amount of people complained about the art style graphics ect. hardly anyone said what artstyle they wanted, they got what they asked for (bdsp). (also sorry for acting on my high horse, just trying to say my opinion)
Ah, that is true. However, have you considered that the many people who wanted DP remakes would want it done well? And that not everyone is in agreement of what "done well" means, because taste and personal preference is a thing?

We are used to getting remakes that fit the modern Pokemon Generation in mechanic and arts style to the point that making exactly like the originals will make people mad.
I personally am not mad because after seeing SwSh I didn't expect anything that would satisfy me with those remakes. I made a video listing everything I wanted from the remakes and some stupid flavor stuff out of consistency sake to match a video I did for Gen 3 remakes.
It was made during USUM. So... yeah, I was expecting Megas etc to be in the game.
