"Lucario"
1. "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate"
When deciding how I was going to make my first Gen 8 team, I knew I needed a really cool core pokemon. Lucario instantly sprung to mind, being my all time favorite pokemon, and looking really cool having a great offensive presence. I intended for Lucario to be the late game sweeper that can also punch holes in the enemy team with ease. I went Close combat for damage potential, Swords dance for the extra attack boost, Extreme speed for priority, and ice punch as a surprise coverage move to deal with the flying and ground types that Lucario can struggle with. For my item I went for life orb (RIP mega and Z-moves) for the extra damage. I went for speed and Attack EV's to outspeed other squishes and sweepers, and for its nature, I went adamant for the extra damage on top (A little unorthodox, but it works). And for my Ability, I used Inner Focus to counter waterfall and fake out users that can shut down Lucarios sweep. Overall I want to try and put tons of damage potential on Luke so I can start punching holes at earlier stages of the battle, and pull out the surprise coverage ice punch to shut down any flying or ground types that try to wall him.

"Dragapult"
2. Axel the intangible draaagonnnn. *sing this for bonus points*
Dragapult is intended to be my special attacking coverage mon (IDK if this is the right terminology). Which means that I loaded him with powerful moves of multiple different types. Dragapult also is immune to fighting types because of his ghost typing, one of Luke's weaknesses. I chose Dragon Darts for the powerful stab, Shadow ball for ghost and psychic types (which both counter Lucario), Thunderbolt for flying types (especially that annoying Pelliper), and Fire blast for grass and steel (which wall Barry). For item I went for dragon tooth (would go life orb but that's Luke's), for ability I went Infiltrator for substitute/lightscreen/etc. Finally, I went Speed and SpA EVs for the super fast special attacks, and Hasty nature for the extra speed on top. Overall Axel is a really speedy special attacker with a ton of awesome potential.

"Barraskewda"
3. Oop... oop... Barracuda! *More singing!*
Barry the Barraskewda is sort of Like Luke's little brother. Because swift swim and choice spec, Barry is LIGHTNING fast (Just realized the Flash reference) and can dish out tons of damage with liquidation and close combat. Barry also has great coverage with poison jab and psychic fangs, but its not a good idea to stay in while stuck on said moves unless what's in front of you is weak to it. I dumped all my EVs into speed and attack, and an attacking nature, as Barry is already fast enough.

"Darmanitan-Galar"
4. Im im im not staying alive, stayin alive.
When I use Darmanitan i usually use flare blitz, which can counter steel types like aegislash which wall Lucario and Barry when he's stuck on Close Combat. He also has earthquake and icicle crash (Which i always miss for some reason) for a mix of coverage and power. 99% of the time I end up using flare blitz so much I end up killing myself, which is kind of funny in a morbid kind of way. I have choice scarf and gorilla tactic for the extra speed and strength that this mon offers. I dumped all my EVs into speed and attack with a speed nature to top it off. The main problem is how squishy Afro is. This is because of his 55 base Def and SpD which goes to about 146 each... and because I literally kill myself with my main attack.

"Corviknight"
5. It's a bird! It's a plane! Its a huge-a hunk of metal!
With the new Gen coming out, I decided that my flying defog mon would be from the newest generation. So I chose a big-a flying chunk of metal that is for some reason a bird. All jokes aside, Corviknight is the stalwart paladin of the group that is kind of the protector as well. I went for brave bird for the fighting types Luke struggles with, defog (because defog), Roost for Tankiness, and Flying press for those rock and ice types trying to shut him down. Flying press does damage based on defense, which is why I dumped my EVs into HP and Def. This is also because Corviknight is a beefy boi that can take a ton of hits. I chose leftovers for the extra EXTRA beefiness.

"Ferrothorn"
6. Can't touch this! *der der ner ner*
The final thing I needed for the team is a lead. *slaps roof of car, hand starts to bleed* this guy is pretty standard. Stealth rock and Leech seed combo is pretty good. Power whip for the MAXIMUM DAMAGE and gyro ball. Due to it's low speed and minus speed nature Thorn has, gyro ball is pretty devastating. It's also extremely fun to do double the amount of damage to a mon than it did to you just because of iron spikes and rocky helmet.

How do you like my team guys? Have any suggestions to improve? Feel free to give as much criticism as you want! :)

Ah that;s right i forgot about Lucario. So, Choice specs raises the special attack of a pokemon and in turn they are locked to one move, your Barraskudda doesn't have any special attacks only physical attacks. Choice band would raise your Barrakudda's (physical) attack stat, neither of this items will lower it's speed.
