First Gen 6 Team: A Spooky Tree & A Frilled Lizard

Hello Smogon Community! This is my first post here, so go easy on me haha.

Introduction:
After being a long time lurker of these forums, I decided to finally make an account! I figured I should make my first post...somewhat special! I mean, it is never gonna change as being my first post - so wynaut make it a good one! This team was built because I am very infatuated with Trevenant and must use it! It's my favorite Pokemon, so I had to make a use for it on my first Gen 6 Team! I decided to attempt to form it with some other new stuff I found that had been doing well so far! My team also has a huge twist - Power Herb Heliolisk! It may seem strange, but Heliolisk really needs a Normal STAB imo. But, I'll get more into that later!

In-Depth:

helios_by_callyfin-d6p0hhd.png

Venok (Heliolisk) @ Power Herb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Razor Wind
- Focus Blast

Heliolisk is one the best Pokemon in the OU Metagame right now. It is a really good late game cleaner and can easily pick off weakened teams. It has such great coverage between Surf / Thunderbolt / Focus Blast get impeccable coverage and I just love what it brings to my team. Razor Wind is the kicker of this set, providing a very nice Special Normal STAB! Yes - it is a one time use - but it hits hard that one time. Heliolisk is more of a hit-and-run kind of Pokemon, so it really can afford to have a one time move as it has good enough other moves to cover after that one-time thing is used up. Dry Skin provides a solid counter to Clauncher, who really can pretty much own my team. Other than that, there isn't really much else to say about Heliolisk!

Weavile_used_Ice_Punch_by_purplekecleon.png

Jeffrey (Weavile) @ Dark Gem
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Icicle Crash
- Low Kick

At +2 Weavile is a train. Yes, it is stopped dead cold by Priority, but I always remove them before I even bring Weavile in. Knock Off's buff is too good, seriously. Weavile did get VERY buffed this generation, with Knock Off and Icicle Crash it is just getting better. It is only resisted by...nothing (iirc)! Dark Gem might seem odd, but the reason for this is that it secures a OHKO on some common OU Pokemon, including Talonflame, Greninja, and Trevenant. It even secures a OHKO on Shield Form Aegislash - without an item! Weavile is very impressive this generation!

Trevenant.png

3spooky5me (Trevenant) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Horn Leech
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp

My favorite is finally up! This set is honestly one of the bet sets imo. With Will-O-Wisp and max Special Defense EV's, it becomes an AMAZING wall! SubSeed is even better on this thing! Seriously, if you give it enough room to set up it becomes pretty dang hard to take down without a Super Effective move. Horn Leech actually hits decently and will recover a fair amount most of the time! Sitrus Berry + Harvest is just too great. Pardon me for going on and on, but I honestly think it's one of the absolute best walls ever.

the_heatran_express___collab_by_windfeathers-d3ebz45.png

Igneous (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Roar
- Toxic

Heatran! Joins in to the walling of this team. It forms a Water-Grass-Fire core with Blastoise and Trevenant, with Trevenant being an amazing partner for Heatran, covering it's Water and Ground weaknesses, and being immune to its Fighting-Type weakness. While Heatran completely takes on the annoying Ice and Fire-Types that cut Trevenant's walling capabilities. I chose to go for Physically Defensive instead of Specially Defensive because Trevenant's my Special Wall. Heatran sets up the much needed Stealth Rock for my team while also being a Toxic staller. Roar starts stacking up with Spikes and Stealth Rock and really wethers the opponent down. Lava Plume is just filler mainly, but does serve a nice Burn chance, which can come in handy.

mega_blastoise__by_land_walker-d6l4m4u.jpg

Blaster x 1000 (Blastoise) @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Aura Sphere
- Ice Beam
- Water Pulse

Blastoise is very cool and has always been a personal favorite of mine. Rapid Spin support for my team is super nice and it completes the F-W-G core of my team! It actually hits really hard and serves my Mega slot very well. I don't really know what else I can say about Blastoise besides that I chose Ice Beam over Dragon Pulse to hit Grass-Types harder than Dragon Pulse does.

Deoxys__Speed_by_candid_silence.jpg

Sleeker Than U (Deoxys-Speed) @ Light Clay
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Spikes
- Magic Coat

Just waiting for this to be banned tbh. It is such a good least it isn't even funny. Dual Screens is mainly for Heliolisk, but also really makes my walls more impenetrable. Spikes is amazing in it's own right, but really aids my team is it is mostly defensive. Magic Coat is to stop Taunt and other Deoxys. I wish that it had room for an attacking move, but I honestly don't know where it could've gone so.

Closing:
This is my first post and my first RMT, so I hope you like it!

Standard OU Offensive Threats

460.png
Mixed attacker (Mega Evo) - Not very threatening unless it carries Earthquake and I make a bad prediction.

359.png
All Out Attacker (Mega Evo) - Dang, this thing really hassles up my team. Weavile can take care of it with Low Kick, but other than that it can easily give my team trouble.
Swords Dance (Mega Evo) - Exactly the same as All Out Attacker, but nearly guranteed to sweep me.

681.png
Mixed - Never really threatens me.
Swords Dance + King's Shield - King's Shield is annoying, but with the right prediction it isn't that hard to beat.
Offensive Swords Dance - Not threatening.
Full Out Attacker - The least threatening.
Autotomize - Ehh, somewhat hard to beat if it can get like two boosts.

142.png
Lead - Very easy to beat.
Full out attacker (Mega Evo) - Ice Shard handles it.

306.png
Rock Polish (Mega Evo) - Oh boy this thing... Usually takes a little of all my team in conjunction to beat it.

65.png
Focus Sash - Meh not too hard to beat.
Full out attacker (Mega Evo) - Trace can be annoying with Heatran, but otherwise it isn't too bad.

699.png
Life Orb - lol low kick.

482.png
Lead - Azelf is just really set up bait for Weavile and Trevenant.
Dual Screens - Argh, Dual Screens is annoying. But, it can be played around.

184.png
Belly Drum - Honestly, don't see why this is so so threatening. I have three stops to it. Heliolisk completely destroys it.
Choice Band - ^

689.png
Shell Smash - So much nope. Sweeps my team hands(or claws) down.

286.png
Physical Attacker - Trevenant completely walls it.
Lead - ^
Swords Dance- ^
Fighting Gem Focus Punch - ^

251.png
Tinkerbell - Weavile seriously stops it cold
Nasty Pass - Can be bad if it has enough room to set up and pass.
Choice Scarf - This thing is more threatening than the other sets, but not especially hard to play around.

6.png
Dragon Dance (Mega Evo X) - Don't even mention this thing ;_;. My only real stop to it is maybe Blastoise, but even then that is shaky at best.

693.png
Life Orb Attacker - Heliolisk stops it cold.

91.png
Shell Smash - Argh, can be annoying, but I try to not let it set up.

534.png
Bulk Up - Really hard to stop, but not impossible.
Sheer Force - Oh lawd help me.

386s.png
Spikes Lead - I can deal with it with my lead.
Dual Screens Lead - ^

660.png
Choice Scarf - Meh can be bad, but usually can predict it well enough.
Choice Band - gg
Swords Dance - Not as threatening because of Blastoise and Helioptile.
Agility - God have mercy on me.

132.png
Choice Scarf - Haha, not that bad.

691.png
Choice Specs - This thing needs to stop it >:x

149.png
Dragon Dance - gg
Choice Band - ehh, weavile can attempt to stop it.
Mixed - gg

Dragonite is probably the largest threat to my team, if Multiscale is still up. Weavile can try, but often it isn't strong enough.

Have you considered Lum Berry + Rest on Trevenant? It would give you instant recovery and using SubSeed is quite risky with Infiltrator and Sound moves going straight through it.

Other than that, the team looks good! I can't see any major problems, even with the addition of pre-gen VI Pokemon. 'ave a like.

Side note, where did you get those Gen 6 Sprites? They look awesome.

Actually, yes, I have thought about it. I know it gives back 100% Recovery, but I prefer Sitrus Berry as it can be used without wasting a moveslot. Like in a pinch it activates without me having to give up a moveslot and recover. I do also know that SubSeed is risky, but hey, I like risks. But there are really only like three main users of Infiltrator (Crobat, Noivern, and possibly Chandelure?), so it isn't too too risky.

They're all on Serebii!

See:

Click the Noivern to take you too it's page, from there just click on the image with the right thing on you mouse and copy the link! Then, paste it wherever you want! And, you can also just type in a Pokemon's number instead of finding each and every one. Ex:
http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon/715.png <- Noivern's
http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon/714.png <- Noibat's

Just changing the number: http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon/#.png :)
