if you use this item (obv. offline and not holding an item) and the pokemon has a second ability you can change the first ability to the second.

I hope this includes dream world abilities. I want my Chlorophyll Venusaur with Power Whip holding a Venusaurite xD. (Couldn't be done before as it was a male exclusive and Power Whip is an egg move)

Life Orb Gengar is inmune to Earthquake, Mega Gengar is weak to it. Shadow Tag was also nerfed a bit, and, again, no other Mega allowed if you run this one. Wait and see. And don't assume anything being banned just because it was in gen V.

The guy who brought us Petal Blizzard is at the move relearner right now.

Greninja learns a new move called Mat Block which is a Protect clone that only blocks damaging moves.

Talonflame has Flare Blitz and Brave Bird as level 1 moves.

Aurorus gets Freeze Dry as level 1 move and it is 70 BP.

The Life Orb is a huge thing I think people are forgetting, as people have said. It needs to be said again though. These Megas seem to be keeping power on par to the Life Orb boost a normal Gengar/Aero/Lucario would be getting, so probably won't be as absurd as people think. Another thing to remember is that Mega Stones apparently can't be Tricked off (on purpose or by Accident) for a Life Orb or something. Its terrifying now to see base 170 SpA for Ampharos or Gengar, or 194 for Mewtwo Y, but it's similar to or weaker than the Life Orb counterparts. So ban calls and overall metagame freak outs need to chill until we see what happens in a few days/weeks/months when the "new game smell" starts to wear off.

252 SpA Mega Gengar (170 SpA) Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye: 151-178 (49.67 - 58.55%)
252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye: 161-191 (52.96 - 62.82%)

Yeah, it's scary. But stoppable thanks to its item-lock.

Yep, damage is lower, that's obvious but when you're so fast that you outspeed 90% of metagame and YOU PICK what you want to kill without really good counterplay... Shadowtag is what makes him scary, not that SpA. It's just a cute bonus.

User AND allies? Sounds like a Wide Guard clone there... but better. :o

Aurorus learns thunder wave by level up? I wonder... was it an ice/electric type before it was fossilized?
and where the hell does water stater pull a "mat" from???

It can't even 2HKO a SDef-Scizor with Focus Blast - which, itself, is able to trap. It's to early for rushing out tiering-panic, we haven't even seen all Megas (things like Tyranitar), moves are missing, you don't know what stops Gengar cold this generation. For all we know, Mega-Mawile comes in on the Mega-Evolution, mega-evolves itself and sucker punches Gengar dead before this 2HKOs, if it subbed during evolution.

The wording on "Mat Block" is curious... it makes it sound like it's a Protect that blocks damage on all of your team? That seems awfully powerful.

Freeze Dry is about what I expected as far as BP, I suppose.
I have no idea if its just for a battle - so be kind to me <3

Here's the knock off video for you guys <3 <
Looking for hail inducer to confirm it aswell.
Awesome. Thanks so much for posting these videos Pan! It's always nice to get confirmation :)

I'd just like to point out, that the Special Attack of 170 is about equivalent to the damage potential of Life Orb Gengar.

yeah people see the number 170/200 and are like OMFG BROKE but as Mewtwo has shown........the power increase is actually not really there if you factor in items. Whats more important are probably things like new typings, speed increases, and new abilities. And Gengar did indeed get speed and a godly ability.

why would gengar even be hitting scizor with focus blast and not shadow ball?
