Cheers all ^.^
Welcome to The Flying Press, Smogon's newest major project. We are The Smog's spiritual successor, having opened up content publication to a new format. The Smog itself has come to an end after over 6 fantastic years. Fans of the zine shouldn't fret, though; all of the content that would have been brought to you by The Smog will still be coming out through here. As The Smog's first Editor's Note said, "one of the most important things I want to highlight is that the web-zine will not be a medium solely for competitive Pokémon; the web-zine aims to reflect the community as a whole." Those words still ring true.
So what's different here? We're no longer releasing articles in an issue format. Instead, articles are released individually, allowing for more exposure and commentary for each. Each new article is given a thread here, where you can share your thoughts and opinions about it. We're always open to constructive criticism and finding new ways to improve.
We'll be putting out several articles a week that should appeal to readers of all kinds. From Ubers to LC, RMTs to entertainment, you can expect all of our usual content to continue to be created with the same or higher quality. This also comes with the benefit of releasing more time-sensitive articles, such as coverage for tournaments and suspect tests, while they're still relevant for our readers.
We encourage anyone who wants to be a part of this new project to submit their ideas to Article Approvals. All our artwork and prose exists by and for the competitive Pokemon community, and we're always excited to see what new and creative ideas our users can bring to the table. Thanks for joining us and reading!
