Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Can confirm, I lost to you twice but finally beat you after I changed my Mamoswine to Icicle Spear.

Use this with scolipede, it's balanced. I've used it in ou, where they actually have good baton pass counter play, and it was still magic. I dont think espeon is better, it doesnt have iron defense nor does it have good ability + stats, as well as the fact that magic bounce is really overrated with baton pass.
sup buddies, i was encouraged to share some thoughts, teams, etc. this meta is all kinds of busted up (every team either runs muk or is moderate-to-severely gar weak), but i kinda love it for that and the pool that i could see it leveling out to looks really interesting. been mostly working offenses cuz that's the most engaging option rn. speaking of, scarf terrak is legit a top-tier set rn.

really to-the-point ho, with an emphasis on prompting scenarios for either of the boosters to grab free turns. initially i was z-fly mence + sitrus azu, but contextually i felt as tho a.i was getting scald burned tryna set up too much and it got me mad and b.there were enough scenarios that prompted the opp trying to knock the sitrus to suppress a full sweep that trading over the z-move became warranted. however, you can absolutely switch up, since having that skystrike to open up the sweep and (perhaps more importantly) rk'ing opposing azu far better. being a non-belt rachi, you have to a little more active with your predictions in order to get the kinda core disruption that you'd be getting outta ebelt, but generally it'll get the job done for ya.
again, not much to explain. double dragon is vicious and gengar beats up on everything, or at worst forces the weavile to take sr and a round of lo, so i just use both and crush! cb zor plays in as my pivot since i just kinda try to force my way through everything, and keld acts as my dark check and bro / electric lure of sorts.
This is a fun weird team that I've been using from time to time that I'd thought I would share with you guys. I'm sure this team could use some work so if you want to change it up while using it then by all means, have fun. You could run recover over tailwind on Latias and you can could run 252 HP on Raikou to take advantage of insta dual screens so you can keep your subs longer:
252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Raikou through Reflect: 51-60 (13.2 - 15.6%)
252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Sludge Wave vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Raikou through Light Screen: 67-80 (17.4 - 20.8%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Raikou through Light Screen: 89-105 (23.1 - 27.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
Hey guys I hope the lot of you aren't bored with using broken mons yet. I was having fun with a team on ladder and its been working pretty well for me so I thought you guys may enjoy it while you still can.
It can lose to shit of course but what doesn't right now? It basically revolves around checking the meta with slow setup and trying to find one of the members a spot to go in versus someone. The spread on dragonite lets you out speed base 100s at +1, and out speed mega aerodactyl at +2. Snorlax+cruel as obligatory zard-y answer (also snorlax is pretty cool rn when dudes forget to run a fighting type because of new toy syndrome lol). cruels got haze for bd zummie, rhyperior>giglith because I didn't want sand possibly breaking dragonite scale if lefties get knocked but I still needed answer to broken super sonic skystrike mons (also bones scolo pass teams). You can run SD>defog on scizor but I like keeping hazards off for dragonite in the possibility I face focus blast zard-y and I need to have dragonite checking zard at all times. Hope you guys can enjoy it.
I'm not sure if anyone's touched up on Lurantis, but I think I could see a Contrary version being in UU.
Now hear me out: Yes, all of Lurantis' stats are lower than Serperior's, but there is a version of it that I have, and it does some decent work. Of course, there's still some tweaking to do.
Lurantis @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 SpA

Due to Lurantis' Defensive and Special Defensive Stats being the same, you can make Lurantis either wall. Toxic can be replaced with Protect, something I'm considering highly. With bulk in either category, it can get off some Leaf Storms, then heal with either Synthesis/GigaDrain. I don't think it can do anything in Ou, with Serperior obviously being better in every possible way. Despite that, I think it could do work in UU

The NU people said that Lurantis would actually drop to NU since servine has similar defensive stats due to eviolite and a contrary version would work there. Lurantis probably won't work well in UU due to its low speed (base 45). Also, this set is bait for any poison or steel type to come in (alolan muk, scizor, lucario, crobat, dragalge, cobalion, doublade, etc.)You might want HP ground instead of giga drain to deal with these.
This set is quite effective. As opposed to the Specs set, it exploits as much as possible Primarina's great typing & bulk. This thing is really effective at checking a lot of mons, it's an overall great answer to Dark & Fighting types which are as popular as ever while still being a decent Dragon check, it also happens to be a fantastic answer to Keldeo as it takes very little from any of it's moves. Even without any EVs invested in Attack it still hits relatively hard and the coverage that Water + Fairy offers is pretty solid. Not being weak to Steel also means this can beat Scizor if it gets a burn early enough which is always valuable. I honestly didn't expect this set to work so well, feel free to try it out!
I actually haven't seen this set being used so I thought I would give it a shot. The combination of Keldeo's power and it's ability to check things such as Scizor and Weavile gives Keldeo a lot of set up opportunities. Once it is behind a sub it usually ends up getting at the very least one kill which is greatly appreciated. It's overall an extremely solid win condition which destroys bulkier teams while still being effective in a lot of different match ups. The ability to switch moves is quite nice as well. Things like Slowbro and Latias check this rather well so just carry solid answers to those and you should be good to go.
An ORAS staple which I havent seen a whole lot either. Despites the rise of things like Keldeo and Charizard-Y Krook still does what it's supposed to just fine. Taunt has been quite helpful especially considering the amount of SR Necrozmas I've faced. Being able to lowers Jirachi's attack with Intimidate can also turn out to crucial when facing Z-Hour Jirachi, it still probably doesn't beat it but it can at least reduce the sweeping potential it has. Knock Off is obviously still extremely good to abuse. Krook is still one of the few decent electric immunitys, I kinda feel like it is a good compromize between Swampert's utility and Mamo's power right now.
Not much else worth noting, won't go on a rent about how stupid Jirachi is, alpha UU has obviously some stuff which prevent it from being anywhere close to a balanced metagame, but I feel like it is a fun way to introduce UU to the SUMO era so there's also that.
I just posted earlier so me posting again feels awkward, but I am having fun with this alpha so bite me. Anyways to get to the point I have been having fun with this set and I wanted to show it to you guys if you wanted to try building around it:

Now some of you might be wondering why the hell you would use Salamance when Dragonite is a thing. Well, just like in ou, Z-Fly and moxie is an awesome set. Not only is it easy for Mence to snowball late game, it also out speeds Mega Aerodactyl, scarf Hydreigon, and scarf Kyub at +1, all of which shut Dragonite down, especially Kyurem. Unlike Dragonite, you can't just sack something to Mence and go from there, because it just gets stronger the more it kills. Fly is not actually useless after the Z Move is used, and it kind of works like Bouce does for Gyarados. It is one of the most terrifying late game sweepers, and if the opponent's checks to it are worn down, the thing will sweep with ease. Of course, regular dd Mence is outclassed by Dragonite, and mixmence does face competition with Kyurem B and Hydreigon, but Z Fly Moxie is a great set that I didn't see on the ladder, and it should be used more, it's honestly one of the best late game sweepers I've ever used.

This team has been giving me a lot of success. I got the idea from those TTar+Zard Y cores from ORAS OU, but now that we have Sand Stream Gigalith, I thought I would try it with that. And I've got to say, it works pretty well. Although Zard-Y, Latias, and scizor are probably going to be gone, I thought I'd share this anyways. Gigalith is fantastic in this metagame, thanks to its massive bulk and decent power. It's very reliable at setting up rocks, as defoggers like Lati@s cant even really touch it. I honestly forget why I chose this EV spread, but I think it's because it survives a few physical attackers. I decided to pair it with Zard-Y appreciates its ability to wear down teams with toxic and its ability to reliably set up rocks, and also cause zard-y is broken really good. Alakazam can use Gigalith and Zard-Y's ability to wear down and punch holes in teams to sweep easily, and appreciates sand wearing opponents down. I chose scizor next because it's also broken because its slow u-turn is greatly appreciated by alakazam and zard-y while also being a fairy resist. It also acts as another sweeper. I chose latias next because I needed a defogger, and something that switches into Zard-y and such. Boltbeam is used to hit the things it checks and counters for super effective damage. Finally, I chose scarf mienshao because i needed a fast uturn to compliment scizor, as well as something that was very fast and provides good speed control. Its also a nice check to weavile, alakazam, steel types, and others.
Although this team does struggle with conkeldurr and Z-Celebrate Jirachi, but it's still winnable.
TLDR I slapped a Zard-y and some other broken pokemon to make a team and it works pretty well
That will depend on whether a suspect test for Latias occurs or if it receives enough usage to rise up to OU. Scizor and Mega Charizard-Y will probably be quick banned.
Its not really broken-at least in my opinion
Its definitely really good though, as its fast, decently powerful, and bulky. Its probably a solid A+ mon imo
But again its not really broken

I really don't think Scizor's anywhere near problematic enough for a quickban. It's main selling point, Tech Bullet PUNCH, still has a bad offensive typing. Its CB set is less of a hard wallbreaker and more of an offensive pivot while its defensive set is actually quite nice for bulky offensive teams.
There's probably 7-10 Pokemon in Alpha rn that I can see getting QB'd before Scizor, which brings me to my second point: the Kyurems.
Although the problem is more inherent in Kyu-B, both are pretty strong right now. Z-Freeze Bolt coming off of a Base 170 Atk (fully invested) can easily chunk 60+% off of relevant targets and really has no safe switch-ins. Even hard defensive answers like Slowbro are knocked into KO range of Fusion Bolt.
Regular Kyurem isn't as bad, but Z-Blizzard and Draco Meteors still can damage most UU bulky cores severely.
Another thing I think is unlikely to stay is Hawlucha. In all honesty I see it right back where it was, and rightfully so. Just look at this: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7pokebankuualpha-508983645
I don't have any other replays at the moment. Sorry if this one is just me versus a rather inept player (no offense if he/she happens to be looking at this post), but it still raises the same question- if allowed to set up, the only thing that can even hope to stop Hawlucha is Doublade, or perhaps Klefki or Entei if Hawlucha's Substitute has been broken. Anyway I'll see if I can scrounge up replays from other people.
over the past few days i have basically lost my shit got it back together, lost it again, let it disintegrate and be one with nature, then create new shit thanks to this god forsaken ladder. with this i have built new teams

rain is pretty uncommon at the moment, so i thought i might as well give it a spin. with politoed you basically need encore to dick azu and the like. aside from that and scald, the other moves are basically filler - i like icy wind for the dragons, and toxic for slowbro. you can run stuff like hypnosis somewhere if you like, but right now i think its good to have countermeasures vs the aforementioned mons, especially the dragons because my other means of dealing with them arent the most reliable. tornadus and kabutops are basically givens for rain, not much to say about them. switching into them is incredibly annoying for pretty much anything aside from really fat shit. cobalion is basically the weavile answer of the team. its not really a great one, but it works because are too hung up on pursuit (which is better ran on muk, krook, aero, zor, probably some other things im forgetting) to realize that running coverage lets it fuck up its usual counters, so good times for me. basically knock off immune, gets up sds pretty easily and wrecks shit. celebi is here so that im not taken advantage of by keldeo, and is a pretty decent rocker since it uturns on a lot of its switchins. coba is kind of weird here but i like it anyway. colbur is probably a better option to somewhat remedy the suit stuff, but sometimes tanking aeros and the like can be a lil clutch in lategame situations. thundurus is pretty much another anti offense measure. hp flying is better in most cases than ice, even if its not the best the stab is well appreciated. i have enough ways to deal with the dragons anyway. thunder wave is mainly for shit like scarf kyub, but because its twave it can win most late games if i need it.
there are probably some other options i didnt think of. seismitoad seems like a pretty decent rain sweeper i guess, you could maybe run volcarona over something as an anti zrachi measure? idk, havent toyed with it that much yet.

originally built this around muk + keld, pretty standard stuff, suit trapping for keld to give stuff the D. i was using cm 3 atks keld, which is pretty bad, and i probably could have gone with any other keld set, but then i remembered that megabro dicks on everything anyway so i might as well use that. the prospect of using iron defense / toxic / ice beam over cm and.or psyshock is a thought, but after trying them out they had their own problems so i just stuck with the standard set. zor is the usual offense checker of sorts, grabs momentum and deals with offense late game. gigalith is probably one of the best rockers in the tier just by virtue of how fucking tanky it is. stone edge is better than rock blast sometimes, but being able to mess with dnite and scolipede (!!!!!!!) is much more preferable to me. latias serves as somewhat of a secondary check that the other mons deal with, and clears hazards since spikes can be the end of me in some games. gliscor is a fun one. by a fun one, i mean that its obnoxious as fuck for any team that isnt prepared for it. the spreads a little wonky, but i basically made it so that i can outspeed krook. beforehand i went up to entei's speed, but krook and luke became a little worrisome sometimes so i though the extra investment is worth it.

this team is not very good but i decided to have it come into existence anyway. there arent a whole lot of ways you can reliably abuse sun, but victini and venusaur are the bests bet that you can get (not that chary doesnt abuse sun on its own, but you get what i mean). in all honesty, you can probably afford to go scarf on victini since v-create hits hard as fuck anyway, but im about that power i guess. not too much to say about venu, but you can go spowder > growth if you like. both are fairly situational anyway. keys is an odd one here, but a manual sun setter, dragon check (well, kind of. it hits it for se damage and twaves it so it works yea?), and spiker in one slot is a pretty cool thing to have. krookodile is krookodile, basically needed a volt immunity because fuck scarf thundyt. torkoal is pretty mediocre even with drought but it spins so it works. you can probably run yawn over one of the other status moves.
with all the dnites and mences running around, i wanted to see how busted zbounce gyara was. its not as dumb as the former two, but it still is good at plowing through fucking everything. being able to set up on zor is pretty sick, and intimidate gives it plenty of opportunities to do so. paired it with mixtini to get rid of its usual answers. double ice coverage may be a bit overkill, but i thought that nite / mence / gliscor were all really annoying. you can prob opt for eball if youd like on tini for pert though. serperior deals with the fat waters that are annoying for mence and doesnt have a whole lot of trouble sweeping if tini and gyara can break. the rest is usual stuff. pert + zor + maero are all pretty splashable and cover what i need it to, although defog zor is a little bleh.
id also just like to mention that loom is a big jerk and is probably one of the best anti offense mons atm. doesnt see a whole lot of usage but it definitely deserves to be sent to the shadow realm. spore makes it extremely easy for it to set up and if you let the wrong mon get slept you are basically donezorz. also fuck baton pass that move is also on my shitlist. happy new years everyone, looking forward to beta.
A couple Pokemon that have flown under the radar so far:
Volcanion is an awesome tank. Steam Eruption/Flamethrower/Bloom Doom/HP Ice deals with everything you need it to, and it has great defensive utility in dealing with Scizor and Jirachi (Tbolt-less), two of the best Pokemon in the metagame, as well as other stuff like Azu, Primarina, and kinda Zard Y. I could see a bulkier set with Leftovers working too. I personally would not use Specs right now, since STAB Steam Eruption off of base 130 Special Attack hits everything hard enough, locking into a move could give dragons and other stuff easy setup, and it requires a lot more effort than Bloom Doom to damage Water-types and other potential checks.
Swellow is really fun to use too and it feasts on the offensive nature of the metagame. With simply U-turn support from Scizor/Rachi/tons of other stuff, it can wreck unprepared teams, as the SAtk buff lets it OHKO frail-ish offensive threats like Mamoswine and Thundurus, and even 2HKO Pokemon like Cobalion. There are only a few commonly used switchins - Gigalith, Blissey, Empoleon, SDef Rachi, Mega Aero - which can be U-turned on easily. Outspeeding nearly the entire metagame is great too, and overall it's a really easy Pokemon to be weak to.
Diggersby is another Pokemon I haven't seen too much of, but probably rightfully so, as Mamoswine is just a better version of it right now. The metagame is too offensive for any sort of setup Diggersby to do anything, and Mamoswine's priority is much better to pick off relevant threats.
