RMT of the Month
The aim of this project is to generate attention for people who put effort into making quality RMTs. There are a lot of teams posted that are well-built and presented but left unappreciated, and RMT of the Month looks to bring them into the spotlight.
Concept
- Every month, official Team Raters will monitor the RMTs posted in their respective tiers.
- A few will be chosen that the RMT staff feel exemplify the qualities of an excellent RMT.
- These RMTs will be posted in this thread, along with a paragraph explaining why the particular team was selected. This will allow posters to gain an idea of what constitutes high-quality RMTs, and hopefully consider these aspects when posting their own teams.
- The selected teams will be announced in the RMT Discord server and in the RMT room on PS.
- They will also be recorded in the Hall of Fame, which will be maintained in the OP for each week.
- Being selected also increases the chance of having your RMT added to Team Showcase, subject to review.
- Make sure your team is viable and effective. If your team doesn't fit into its tier or metagame, or lacks any kind of success, it won't have a high chance of being selected. It doesn't have to be archive worthy though, and it doesn't have to have peaked at #1 - a moderately successful team can make it, but it has to work.
- Your team should be well-presented. If you put effort into presenting your team attractively, people will be more willing to rate it. We appreciate it when you take time to work on the quality of your RMT, as it enhances the quality of the forum.
- Be nice and receptive to people's opinions - no one likes to rate the team of a close-minded person.

La Luna - lyd
lyd's La Luna is a creative and successful take on PsySpam offense that utilises Grassy Seed Hawlucha, and an uncommon defensive core in Tapu Bulu and Zapdos. Tapu Lele and Mega Alakazam form the basic offensive duo that PsySpam is built on, complementing each other very well and posing a huge threat to a range of playstyles. The aforementioned defensive core provides a solid check to most of the top threats in the metagame, such as Ash-Greninja, the Tapus, Mega Pinsir, and Kartana. Hawlucha acts as a secondary wincon, revenge killer, and method of speed control all in one. Heatran rounds off the team by providing Stealth Rock support, a switch-in to Fire-types, and an effective way to deal with stall thanks to its access to Taunt.
Song of Old: Afterlife and Rebirth - AnnaKartanna
Song of Old is a very unusual take on USUM Balance, centred around the uncommon Calm Mind Meloetta. AnnaKartanna prefers Meloetta to the more popular Tapu Lele due to the few valuable advantages it has, such as superior bulk compared to most Psychic-types, and a Normal typing that ensures it cannot be revenge-killed by Ghost-type moves. Its massive Special Defense stat provides it with opportunities to set up on passive attackers such as Clefable, while also allowing it to survive even the most powerful special moves after a Calm Mind, such as a Choice Specs Dark Pulse from Greninja. Coil Zygarde is utilised as a secondary setup sweeper that also provides a ton of defensive support with its great bulk and typing. Celesteela, Mega Venusaur, and Tapu Lele combine to form a defensive core that is very difficult to break through, and in between them check all of the metagame's important threats. Marowak-Alola wraps things up as the team's Stealth Rock setter, secondary wallbreaker with its massive Thick Club-boosted Attack stat, and a useful check to the few Pokemon the rest of the team struggles against, such as Zapdos, Mega Charizard-Y, and Tapu Koko.
Sincerely - TPP
Sincerely proves how you can succeed with underrated Pokemon. Mega Heracross has the capability to break through a lot of common defensive cores, thanks to its coverage and massive Attack stat. Ash-Greninja was the partner chosen, as they work very well together: Mega Heracross takes on the Grass-types that check Ash-Greninja, while the latter pressurises Heatran, Landorus-T, and Mega Latios. This team packs a standard core in Heatran / Tapu Bulu / Clefable that sets up both Grassy Terrain and Stealth Rock to support the offensive core. Lastly, Landorus-T works as a momentum gainer thanks to its Choice Scarf, providing the team with speed control and a valuable Ground typing.
Bad Company - Eternam
Bad Company showcases how balanced archetypes, especially ones with Gliscor, can be very effective in the current metagame. Mega Latias acts as a perfect partner to Gliscor, wearing down the the likes of Celesteela and Mega Scizor with Hidden Power Fire and Tapu Bulu with Ice Beam. The team is overall very solid, with a great defensive backbone in Clefable / Ferrothorn / Toxapex that checks common threats such as Tapu Koko and Ash Greninja. Scarf Tyranitar provides the team with speed control, allowing it to check threats such as Mega Latios.
KOD - Ske Mask The Slump God
Ske Mask The Slump God's Beware The Book of Eli is a balanced team built around a core of specially defensive SD Tapu Bulu, which is experiencing a peak in popularity right now, and Clefable, which supports it with both Stealth Rock and Wish. Heatran provides the team with a consistent check to Mega Scizor and Psyspam, which are otherwise annoying to handle for the core. It also improves the matchup against stall. Toxapex is the team's last defensive Pokemon, chosen to deal with the likes of Ash-Greninja and Volcarona. Landorus-Therian provides speed control thanks to its Choice Scarf, and also acts as a secondary check to Zygarde and Mega Pinsir. Mega Latios is the last member of the team, and provides an important check to Heatran as well as additional speed control.
SM UU
Forever Yours - CBU
CBU's Forever Yours is an offensive team that showcases the threat Mega Manectric poses with its power and speed. Terrakion, utilising a Swords Dance + Fightinium Z set, helps Manectric by luring in Ground-types like Swampert and Hippowdon. It also helps to break down Alolomola + Unaware cores on stall teams. Hydreigon provide a valuable Ground immunity, and also forms a VoltTurn core with Mega Manectric. Nidoking sets up hazards, and acts as a check to Fairy-types and opposite Mega Manectric. Primarina is chosen to deal with Dragon-types, which would be a pain for the team to deal with otherwise. The last addition to the team is Scizor, which provides the team with a valuable Steel typing and wincon.
SM RU
Feather - Nat
Nat’s Feather is an RU RMT showcasing a lot of innovative sets. The team is centred around Choice Band Golisopod, which a very strong Pokémon with access to dual priority. This helps the rather slow team immensely. Golisopod is complemented well by another slow but powerful wallbreaker in Mega Ampharos, which can dismantle most defensive backbones and pressurise Milotic, which Golisopod struggles with. The duo is aided by Choice Scarf Gardevoir, which can punish the offensive teams they struggle with, as well as provide Healing Wish support to the entire team. Assault Vest Incineroar is a great and innovative pick, acting as a check to common Pokemon, such as Ninetales, Shaymin, and Salazzle, and forming a Volt-Turn core with Mega Ampharos. Mismagius compliments the two wallbreakers well with its threatening Ghost-type STAB attacks, potentially boosted by a Z Crystal. It also provides spin blocking support. Donphan rounds off the team, providing valuable team support with its ability to both remove hazards and set up Stealth Rock.
Chun Li - Eternally
Eternally's Chun Li is a balanced team centred around NP Mismagius that brought him success in RUPL. Mismagius an underrated wallbreaker in the RU metagame that can take advantage of common Ghost-type checks, such as Bewear, Pangoro, and Mandibuzz. Slowking and Mega Steelix form a solid defensive backbone, with the latter providing Stealth Rock support as well. Slowking is an excellent check in general to most special attackers, and also packs Fire Blast to ward off bulky attackers like Escavalier, Mega Abomasnow, and Shaymin, which allows Mismagius to save the Ghostium Z for other situations. Bewear provides the team with a ridiculously strong physical wallbreaker that complements Mismagius very well, and Rotom-C finishes things off as a revenge killer and general check to Water-types.
SM NU
Kicks - neomon
Kicks is a balanced NU team utilising a defensive core of Diancie + Vaporeon. They complement each other well both in terms of typing and roles, with Diancie providing Stealth Rock support and a useful check to Fire-types if Vaporeon is weakened, and Vaporeon helping keep Diancie healthy thanks to its access to Wish. Magmortar's amazing power and coverage makes it the main wallbreaker of the team, with Fightinium Z-boosted Focus Blast providing an effective nuke against Diancie, and a more accurate option against the likes of Gigalith and Houndoom. Substitute is an interesting choice that naturally complements Magmortar's ability to force switches. Choice Specs Venusaur acts as a strong secondary wallbreaker, and Silvally-Steel provides Defog support, momentum for the aforementioned wallbreakers, and a safe switch-in to Whimsicott, Ice-types, and Klinklang. Rotom is the last piece of the puzzle, acting as a method of speed control and the team's main revenge killer.
SM Monotype
The Deadly Sins - Waszap
Waszap’s The Deadly Sins is a Monotype Steel team centred around priority spam. Lucario is the team’s showcase, utilising an SD Life Orb set with Extreme Speed. Mega Scizor and Bisharp complete the priority spam core of the team, with Bullet Punch and Sucker Punch respectively. The next addition to the team is Excadrill, which provides the team with Stealth Rock support, hazard removal, and a much-needed check to Electric-types. Celesteela is then added to greatly improve the team’s matchup against Ground-types thanks to its secondary typing of Flying. The final member of the team, Heatran, is a must have for Mono Steel, as it provides the team with a much-needed Fire immunity.
