Over the course of various mafia games, I have come to rely on the thread search function as a valuable tool for playing the game. Bring up posts about a specific player with a little data entry and the press of a button and see how much easier it is to examine your peers without combing through upwards of 50 pages.
But there is a glaring flaw in the search's design: all search topics must be longer than three letters.
With all the DLEs, AGs, and even KoCs floating around when it comes to referring to regular players, what once was an effective tool is suddenly stymied by a basic social habit. I say we break that habit by refusing to refer to players by initials only during mafia games. Even if it means referring to someone by an awkward nickname, not using initials makes the search function a better tool for the game.
