Hot Take: The Cold Take thread is better
This is a hot take? I thought this was acknowledged as the indisputable truth by pretty much everyone.
It boils down to this: does the game acknowledging its own crappiness make it subversively a good game? I don't think so.
a lot of people in some smogon forums, generally moreso the competitive ones i think have no fucking respect for fanart or shit like that, or crediting art in general
RMTs also all the time use them in their attempt to look super fuckin serious and official when its just your pokemon team
i also dont like that now we have PMD portraits on smogon forums using fanart especially when I think a lot of them could have just used the 3ds portraits (which are also good) rather than fanart in its entirety and you know that mfers are not going to look up the artists or anything, because you'd have to find the announcement post from months ago that announces that they are using the sprites now

to me ideally whenever you'd hover over the fanart sprite it'd display the source and credit, but I'm not sure how hard or easy that'd be to implement

It's actually art I commissioned
The artist was canceled (for really fucking good reason) so I don't tend to credit them, but when I commissioned them they went by "eevwui"
I think they're still active but changed their name / priv'd twitter over it

I find that it really depends on the cheesecake. I've had homemade cheesecake that was positively divine, but the cheaper stuff at the store is often all of the feeling of sickness with none of the feeling of luxury.

Tbh some German cheesecakes are made with heavy cream and are superior but they aren't really cheesecakes in my opinion cause u mostly taste the cream

ngl bro I said this 3 weeks ago and now I'm in the 1400s in endless with my Kyurem-White/Primal Kyogre fusion, this shit is a DRUG no way it's dying anytime soon
I've sunk 30 hours in it and I've beaten Classic Mode like 10 times
I have been playing DQ11s instead rn but any time there is an event I'm absolutely getting onto rogue and dumping more hours
Pandas aren't as bad as Sloths and Koalas
Like sure it'd be cool if Pandas ate more nutritious plant matter than bamboo like their brown cousins, but
- their mating behavior is a lot more effective in nature compared to captivity
- they manage to gain enough strength and size from their nutrition to not be threatened by predators
- they have some traits that may gain great use this in the future. Like their pseudo thumb looks promising, their digestive system is complex, their patterns can gain camouflage and sun related uses
Sloths and Koalas meanwhile only exist because they aren't worth predators' time. Koalas have developed smooth brains from their nutrition for crying out loud, good brains are like a key advantage for mammals and they threw it away for eating a poisonous, anti-nutritious plant
Sloths aren't as bad and using moss for camo is at least cool, but they still suck and only aren't eaten because they give almost no nutrients
So yeah pandas aren't great and they should start eating more nutritious plants (I don't wanna force em to eat meat because they lost their umami sense), but they're miles above sloths and leagues above koalas

yeah, but panda life is not sustainable. bamboo is a terrible source of nutrition, and they are giant, so they have to be constantly eating it. probobly because of this, they only look after one cub, even though they usually have twins. they just leave the other one to die. yeah, sloths and koalas are bad, but they can at least take care of offspring.
