[SET COMMENTS]
Mandibuzz finds a niche on Flying teams thanks to its unique secondary Dark typing and stellar defensive stats, allowing it to run either a specially or physically defensive set to give it a solid role. Foul Play makes use of the high Attack stat of threats like Swords Dance Excadrill, Metagross, and Scizor for its offense. U-turn can be used to threaten Dark-types like Meowscarada and Hoopa-U while also allowing Mandibuzz to pivot into a teammate. Toxic provides solid utility in putting threats like Gouging Fire, Landorus, and Latios on a timer. Defog supports its fellow Flying-types by removing Stealth Rock along with helping Mandibuzz itself, should Heavy-Duty Boots be knocked off. Both EV spreads have good utility, with the specially defensive spread being better at handling threats such as Choice Specs Dragapult and Spectrier, while the physically defensive spread can more reliably check foes like Ceruledge and Gallade. Both spreads check mixed threats like Hoopa-U. The 16 Speed EVs are used to outspeed Azumarill and check it with Foul Play.
Gliscor and Landorus help immensely by being able to threaten Poison-types like Toxapex and Alolan Muk coming in on Mandibuzz's Toxic, and they can also threaten Electric-types attemping to remove Mandibuzz such as Raging Bolt. Gliscor also appreciates Mandibuzz running Toxic, allowing it to run a different support move such as Taunt. Both Skarmory and Corviknight can threaten Ice- and Rock-types like Chien-Pao, Mamoswine, and Iron Boulder. Skarmory with Body Press can also check Dark-types like Meowscarada, Roaring Moon, and Kingambit thanks to its high Defense. Corviknight with Iron Head can check Fairy-type threats like Flutter Mane, Alolan Ninetales, and Hatterene along with being able to run Defog, allowing Mandibuzz to run Toxic in its moveset. Articuno can threaten problematic Water-types like Primarina, Pelipper, and Rotom-W while enjoying Mandibuzz's ability to threaten physical attackers like Barraskewda and Scizor, should Mandibuzz be physically bulky. Choice Scarf Enamorus appreciates Mandibuzz's ability to remove hazards and threaten Toxic onto walls, including Articuno, that could otherwise shrug off its attacks, enabling Enamorus's sweeping capability. In response, Enamorus can support Mandibuzz by removing Dark-types like Roaring Moon and Kingambit that can easily set up in front of Mandibuzz.
