Jukain
!_!
Opening Act
Hi! I'm Jukain, and this is my 2k RMT. I remember when I thought I would never make it to 1k -- 2k is just unbelievable. This team started as actually an updated version of my 1k RMT, which was also a sun team, but it is now way different than anything I've ever run before. This team is fairly new, but I like it more than anything else I have (well, my other good team was already RMT'd in the form of a double RMT posted by Electrolyte). It's an offensive sun team featuring some interesting Pokemon. There's also some shoutouts at the end! Without further adieu, let's get on to the team (no teambuilding because there isn't enough to talk about).

EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spd
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sunny Day
- Substitute
Possible changes: I've considered running Roar > Substitute despite liking this set so much, as it helps with SubCM Latias a lot. However, it has trouble setting up, so I'm not too worried about it. And besides -- if it's SubCM, it doesn't have Psyshock, which means it can't OHKO Venusaur without a lot of boosts. Toxic > Will-O-Wisp is also something I've considered, as Rotom-W can prove to be a bitch, as considering Venusaur is my revenge killer and cleaner, I can't switch it in overly much. However, Venusaur is an okay option, as it can switch in, take a hit, and predict the next switch-in at no cost to itself. Heck, if sun is up and the opponent lacks a weather inducer (or an alive one at least), then I can set up Growth and sweep. On any sun team, Ninetales is obviously needed, as it sets sun. I opt for a more defensive set on this team that was introduced to me by SJCrew. It can limit Forretress to one layer of hazards and even survive Dugtrio's Earthquake. The spread is actually the standard on-site, but I put it there after being introduced to it, so I digress. SubWisp Ninetales is insanely good. You switch into an attack, and as Tyranitar comes in, Substitute. After doing that, you Will-O-Wisp as Tyranitar breaks the Substitute (it will still break in most cases). You've now 1) scouted the set (Scarf/Band/defensive) and 2) crippled Tyranitar for the rest of the match. Unless it's special RP (lol), that's a win. The only downside is being unable to hit Heatran, but I have a Dugtrio for that...lol. Anyway, I love this set, and it should be used more. There isn't a whole lot else to say. It's also my pivot to numerous Water-types. Leftovers recovery rectifies the damage taken enough to the point where it's not to worrying, and I have a sun team. I'm not worried about Water-types.
One Nasty Bug
Volcarona @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain
Possible changes: HP Rock is something I've considered for opposing Volcarona/Salamence/Dragonite/Gyarados, which are big threats. Thoughts on this? This, like Ninetales, stayed in a similar fashion from the original version of the team. It's standard QD Volcarona with a twist -- Air Balloon. Originally introduced to me by Brii (who the fuck is Dice), it's really useful. Air Balloon lets me set up on Choice-locked Ground-type attacks -- for example, Choice Scarf Salamence's Earthquake -- as well as switch into hazards and avoid Spikes/Toxic Spikes in case my Starmie dies before it can get rid of the hazards. Also, lacking a Ground resistance sucks, but I couldn't find room for a Dragon. Giga Drain is really vital on this set, as Dugtrio can handle Heatran, but neither it nor Jirachi is getting rid of the bulky Water-types. I mean, I guess Venusaur can, but it forces them out, while Volcarona lures them in, which is awesome. It also helps against Scizor Volcarona is usually my mid-game sweeper -- Scarf Jirachi and Venusaur clean up late-game. I chose to go max Timid to ensure I outspeed stuff like max Kyurem-B instead of running 144 Modest. Sun-boosted Fire Blast is powerful enough.
Spin Around, Spin Around - Don't Stop
Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 32 Def / 4 SAtk / 224 Spd
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Recover
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Rapid Spin
Possible changes: Nothing -- everything on this set is needed. This team needs a spinner. That's undeniable, and screw Forretress -- it dies too easily. I tried Xatu, but it was too unreliable. I eventually settled on a bulky Starmie, who counters Keldeo about as well as I could on this team and adds a more solid Fighting resist, which can never hurt. I can burn Tyranitar/Scizor as they switch in, and if I predict Tyranitar, in comes Dugtrio. This is a fairly standard set, with 248 HP / 32 Def providing good bulk, 224 Spd outspeeding everything I need it to, and 4 SAtk letting Starmie always OHKO 4 HP Gengar with Psyshock -- the standard on-site spread. Scald spreads burns, which is awesome for Volcarona/Scizor to capitalize on. Psyshock is vital for Keldeo, and since this is my best way to revenge kill Gengar as well, it's 100% necessary. This ends up revenge killing Terrakion too. I'd never actually used bulky Rapid Starmie before this team, and am impressed with its bulk and performance. Overall, an irreplaceable member of the team.
Got Bud?
Venusaur @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 72 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 180 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Growth
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Fire
- Sludge Bomb
Possible changes: I've considered running Modest for that power and even tested it out, but Timid is too important for those Scarf Latis and musketeers. HP Ice is also something I've considered for Dragons. Thoughts on HP Ice?This thing is a very generic Chlorphyll sweeper, and the important of er, and the important of its presence on this team cannot be understated. It's generic for a reason -- Venusaur is extremely good. It is chiefly my late-game cleaner and secondarily my early- to mid-game revenge killer. It and Volcarona are interchangeable as sweepers. Venusaur also serves as my secondary Keldeo check, which is an important role. It often ends up being the thing to kill Politoed and Tyranitar. It is a decent answer to Choice Scarf Terrakion (Starmie is my best one). Sludge Bomb is important for the Dragons, while HP Fire deals with the Steels this thing attracts like a fly to a fly trap, especially Jirachi and Ferrothorn. Venusaur is fairly simple -- the EVs are as standard as standard goes too, so that's about it.
You're Trapped and Never Getting Away
Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SAtk
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- Reversal
Possible changes: No.Dugtrio is an important member of like 99% of good sun teams. This was a Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and I had a Healing Wish Lilligant. Unfortunately, I got Dragon weak, so I threw on a Scarf Jirachi for a better revenge killer/cleaner. This thing is very important, mainly for weakened Politoed and Tyranitar. It's also my Stealth Rock setter because...I wanted Healing Wish on Jirachi. Moveset is very simple -- EQ is the only attack I really use besides Reversal. This thing can also be nice as a clutch against random crap like Scarf Mence I've weakened if I don't need it for something else. It's also important for Heatran, which I'm pretty much wearing down with Starmie + Volcarona's Bug Buzz + Venusaur's Giga Drain otherwise. It'll die, but Dugtrio makes it a million times easier.
Sweet, Sweet Revenge
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SAtk
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- U-turn
- Healing Wish
Possible changes: I need every move on the set, so no.Choice Scarf Jirachi is the clutchest muthafuckin' shit you ever seen. Bad puns aside (damn this woodchuck syndrome 9.9), this thing fills a really important role on my team. See...I'm Dragon weak. If that wasn't obvious enough. I tried Scarf Scizor, but it's not bulky enough. This thing can take a Dragon hit and go for the Ice Punch to kill, or flinch hax everything to death with Iron Head. Nothing is more fun than this thing clutching a game with flinch hax (unless of course I outplay the opponent on every level -- THAT'S fun). U-turn is for that momentum and for brainless Heatran trapping -- it really is THAT easy. Lastly, Healing Wish. Healing Wish is awesome. It really is. I can bring back Venusaur from the brink of death. I can save Ninetales from hazards if I can't find time to spin them away. I can get my Volcarona back up. Healing Wish is one of the main reasons I have Jirachi other than the checking Dragons role -- it is great. Jirachi is also a weather-independent revenge killer, which I found was needed desperately.
Closing Scene
Well, that's my team! I like it, but it's not perfect, so suggest improvements! In particular, I'm pretty Double Dance Landorus-T weak. Hang on, there's some shoutouts!
Importable
You can steal it or test it to work out the kinks, idk.
