[Overview]

Butterfree has access to an accurate Sleep Powder thanks to Compound Eyes, and that's about all it's got going for it. Poor stats across the board, a shallow movepool, and an awful typing relegate Butterfree to the absolute bottom of the barrel, even in NU. At least Butterfree's better than Beautifly.

[SET]
name: Double Powder
move 1: Sleep Powder
move 2: Stun Spore
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Nightmare / Thief
item: Leftovers
ability: Compound Eyes
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
- Put an opponent to sleep and paralyze as much as you can after that
- Psychic is Butterfree's most usable move, as you should not really use its STAB with that awful Attack
- Nightmare makes use of Sleep Powder and the commonality of RestTalk, probably Butterfree's best way of dealing consistent damage
- Thief allows Butterfree to cripple a defensive switch-in

[ADDITIONAL SET COMMENTS]
- Dream Eater also an option but Nightmare probably more usable on the whole
- Morning Sun for healing
- Toxic an option over Stun Spore or Nightmare
- Needs sweepers as teammates to make use of statuses

[Other Options]
- Specially defensive with Whirlwind
- Sunnybeamer

[Checks and Counters]
- Flareon
- Relicanth
- Chimecho
- Wailord
