BDSP Bob's All 100% Acc Balance Offense [NO BS MISS]

BOB's RMT Banner.png

INTRODUCTION

Peace be upon you!
Hey my name is Bob, the happy married man from Indonesia who in his spare time pretty loves to build his own team and casually laddering with decent result like top 500 at best. Welcome to Bob’s third RMT!

Bob always go with strict ‘All Pokemon Must Have 100% Accuracy Moves’ policy in his mind (Bob simply want to have fun here and missing move is not good for our mental health). The team Bob builds usually end up with hyper offense, this is primarily because Bob believes other playing style have tendency to rely on inaccurate moves (status for example). And with various 100% acc HO team in his hand, Bob try to achieve some grandiose feat like 100-0 in ladder which of course not yet happening lel.

At some point in relatively new BDSP meta game, maybe due to boredom of using the typical suicide lead + 5 braindead attacker all the time, Bob ask himself: “Is it possible to build a viable 100% acc team other than hyper offense?”

And here we have All 100% Acc Balance Offense, the team that Bob proudly build from scratch into perfection (or that’s what he thought), nicely represented Bob’s 100% acc philosophy.

TEAM BUILDING PROCESS

:crawdaunt:
Banded Crawdaunt
We start with Banded Adaptability Crawdaunt as breaker of choice. He is very hard to switch into as Crawdaunt’s STAB able to OHKO / 2HKO almost entire BDSP OU meta. Bob already knew he want to go with balance offense that able to protect this slow and fragile lobster from incoming faster attack and provide safe switch in for him.

:scizor::clefable:
SpD Scizor and Def Unaware Clefable
With no prior experience in building balance offense, at first Bob decide to use SpD Scizor and Unaware Def Clefable as his defensive backbone. These two splashable mon wall most of offensive threat without being too passive. They also can act as bulky setup sweeper which gives this team reliable late game win con.

Scizor on top of that gives Crawdaunt and the entire team slow U-Turn which is nice. Too bad Clefable losing her Teleport and Soft-Boiled, but she is still good to go. Bob planning to use Clef with Moonblast + Flamethrower + Moonlight + Calm Mind and standard Scizor with Swords Dance + Bullet Punch + U-Turn + Roost, so needless to say they are not our Stealth Rocks setter and defogger for this team. Bob thinking that balance offense cannot go without SR and hazard control unlike some type of hyper offense, especially in BDSP where we do not have Heavy-Duty Boots anymore. The team still need SR setter and defogger / spinner.

:gliscor:
Mixed Defensive Gliscor
Mixed Def utility Gliscor comes into Bob’s mind even though Bob still not decide yet if he want to use Gliscor as Stealth Rocks setter, defogger, or both (although the latter is unlikely). Gliscor is easy choice who not only fulfill what the team needed, but he also gives us a way to absorb status and valuable Ground + Electric immunity. As if that’s not enough, he can contribute more by having additional U-Turn for us. Gliscor is so versatile and Bob really likes his unpredictability as he can fit into many role. He is the Johan Cruyff of Pokemon. Truly the very epitome of all-rounder.

:latios:
Life Orb or Scarfed Latios
At this point before deciding who will carry Stealth Rocks and controlling hazard for the team, Bob want to pair Crawdaunt with another powerful attacker who can also act as speed control as this team is already slow enough. Bob consider Latios or Starmie. Both have nice speed tier, great coverage, relatively easy to threaten Crawdaunt’s check (Tangrowth, Azumarill, Breloom, Infernape with Mach Punch, etc) and vice-versa (Blissey, SpD slow Scizor, Jirachi, etc). They also able to removes hazard if needed. Bob objectively prefer Latios’ bulks + typing resistances and extra Ground immunity over Starmie faster speed. Moreover, Latios capability to soft check Breloom and Rotom-Wash is worthy enough to justify him over Starmie.

:blissey:
Blissey
Bob realize this team have glaring weakness against Gengar, Starmie, and opposing Latios to some degree. Healthy SpD Scizor can take the latter all day but will never enough to check the former two. Our mixed def Gliscor is not better and still helpless even if we change him into SpD variant. We cannot rely on non-scarfed Latios to revenge kill Gengar as he risking losing speed tie (100% lose for Bob of course). Starmie simply faster than Latios and is very common for her to carry Ice Beam. Blissey seems like a golden solution to solve our problem. The lack of Psyshock user in BDSP OU barring Alakazam encourage Bob even further to pick her.

All of us knew what she capable of but Bob want to give her a bit of spice with Chople Berry and Shadow Ball. This kind of Blissey shrug off all relevant special attack (even Focus Blast from +6 Life Orb Gengar failed to OHKO her after rocks damage) while still able to fight back Gengar and do more harm to Starmie. Her presence alone make it possible for our Scizor and Gliscor to become physical defensive instead, dramatically lighten the burden from Clefable and generally improves the team matchup versus physical attacker.

---

The team now has solid 3 physical tank + 1 colossal special wall. Breaking this defensive core is not an easy task on paper and usually need specific set of pokemon that will be listed later on threat list section. Finally Bob decide to use Blissey as our Stealth Rocks setter. The job to clearing hazard eventually given to Gliscor, since Bob want Latios to focus on his offensive role. Thank you for reading Bob’s process of thought in building this team! Now into the next section....

IN-DEPTH

JAYAMAHE (Crawdaunt) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Switcheroo / Attack of your choice, preferably Crunch

The breaker of choice for a good reason. Positioned him right, click Waterfall or Knock Off accordingly, and we either OHKO or leave the opposing mon severely wounded. The mon who can resist to both of Crawdaunt’s STAB in BDSP OU is practically only Azumarill and Breloom. The former typically doesn’t like at all to take a hit as we outspeed her and she at risk getting 2HKOed unless we are facing abnormal jolly or max Def variant. The latter, especially offensive one, is pretty much at the same risk albeit Breloom able to outspeed and OHKO lobster. Defensive Toxic Heal Breloom can be challenging but managable. Itemless max Def Tangrowth is the best answer against our Crawdaunt, avoiding 2HKO from full after rocks (without Crunch), but we still can play around with the power of friendship from Crawdaunt’s comrades.

Waterfall over Crabhammer or otherwise this team can’t be called ‘All 100% Acc’ lol. Crabhammer eventually will miss and cost us game unless you are very determined to do ‘give-me-100%-acc’ satanic contract (you will go to hell please don’t do that). It’s not like we losing too much power anyway, Bob so far have no problem with Waterfall. Knock Off and priority Aqua Jet is standard.

Here we have interesting Switcheroo. Bob prefer this as 4th move over Crunch, Sludge Wave, Ice Beam or anything else because Bob feels we don’t actually need 4th attack for Banded Crawdaunt. Bob almost never click Switcheroo, but it comes really handy to shut off slow setup special sweeper (and physical to some extent), special attacker, tank, and support in general (though normally the latter three defeatable without Switcheroo). Bob once facing demon Latias with Reflect Type + Roost + Calm Mind + Stored Power supported by Toxic Spikes. It’s almost impossible to beat for our team without Switcheroo. It really can save our day against unexpected irregular thing made by Harvard graduate. If this is not convincing enough, feel free to use another attack to your liking, Bob would recommend Crunch for potential 2HKO Tangrowth though. The EVs is typical for breaker.

ASISTEN (Blissey) (F) @ Chople Berry
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Seismic Toss
- Shadow Ball
- Soft-Boiled

Bob feels he needs to put Blissey before Scizor and Gliscor just in case you are too busy arranging interview with Forbes and decide to skip team building process. As written before, she is the special wall that make it possible for Scizor and Gliscor to become physical defensive instead of widely used SpD and mixed def respectively. Here we have three standard moves for Blissey. Stealth Rocks, Seismic Toss, and Soft-Boiled are self-explanatory. Bob choose Shadow Ball as her last move so she can actually hit Gengar and ease up 1 vs 1 Starmie that trying to spin away our Stealth Rocks. We also threaten Starmie with potential KO more easily, a feat that Seismic Toss may fail to do especially against Lefties and/or Recover variant. Shadow Ball may exclusive to used only for those two, but since Gengar and Starmie are common mon that dangerous for our team, Shadow Ball is reasonable choice. Don’t bother to use Thunder Wave, it will either magically miss or the opposing mon somewhat 100% ignore the paralyze.

248/252 max Def is pretty much standard, the rest 8 EVs dumped into special attack so Shadow Ball hit Gengar and Starmie significantly harder.

0 SpA Blissey Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gengar: 114-136 (43.6 - 52.1%) -- 67.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
8 SpA Blissey Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gengar: 116-138 (44.4 - 52.8%) -- 80.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

0 SpA Blissey Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Starmie: 104-124 (39.8 - 47.5%) -- 43.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
8 SpA Blissey Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Starmie: 106-126 (40.6 - 48.2%) -- 60.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Bob doesn’t think extra Spe to outspeed opposing Blissey is needed and 8 SpD hardly makes difference afaik since she already have billion SpD, so yeah it’s for SpA. For item of choice, Bob prefer Chople over Lefties. With Chople, Blissey able to survive numerous fighting moves not only special attack like +6 Focus Blast from LO Gengar, but also physical fighting attack if needed (she survive Close Combat from Banded Infernape). The element of surprise is huge here. Blissey not always able to beat Gengar on her own, but it’s enough to deliver some chip so Crawdaunt or Scizor can revenge kill with their priority.

LAPIS BAJA (Scizor) (M) @ Metal Coat
Ability: Technician
EVs: 232 HP / 80 Atk / 196 Def
Impish Nature
IVs: 2 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Roost

S-Ranked and number one in usage stats, both the holy council and the data basically saying that Scizor is spammable and we can’t go wrong with him. Originally max SpD variant, but since we have Blissey, is it possible for our Scizor to become physical def and this is absolutely necessary or otherwise powerful Ground + Ice physical attacker like Mamoswine and also Donphan to lesser extent threaten our team. However, max Def Scizor disappointingly failed to 2HKO Unaware Clefable after rocks. Bob want the best of both world so he tinkering with Scizor’s EVs and here what we got.

232 HP / 196 Def Impish Scizor so he have a good chance to avoid 2HKO from max attack Adamant Donphan, always survive 2HKO from non Life Orb Jolly Mamoswine, taking hit from Weavile and Gliscor more confidently, and any physical attack in general except super-effective, strong dedicated breaker who hit like a king kong, or unlucky crit obviously.

252+ Atk Donphan Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Scizor: 169-199 (49.1 - 57.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Donphan Earthquake vs. 232 HP / 196+ Def Scizor: 127-151 (37.4 - 44.5%) -- 2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252 Atk Mamoswine Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Scizor: 163-193 (47.3 - 56.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Mamoswine Earthquake vs. 232 HP / 196+ Def Scizor: 124-147 (36.5 - 43.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

80 attack with Metal Coat guarantee 2HKO Unaware Clefable after rocks, this is partially useful if we set Swords Dance up and the opposing Unaware Clef trying to hard switch next turn but get caught by Bullet Punch instead. We can also secure kill more easily if the aforementioned Clef doesn’t carry Fire coverage. Life is already funny enough and it’s outright pathetic for Steel STAB not being able to 2HKO Fairy. This EVs and item of choice generally hit hard much more to Bob’s liking than max Def variant and we also can bluffing Choice Band which is neat.

0 Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 144-170 (36.5 - 43.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
80 Atk Metal Coat Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 186-218 (47.2 - 55.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

And for finishing touch we have 2 Spe IVs to U-Turn as slow as possible, providing safe switch in for his teammate, while still outspeed uninvested Donphan by 1 point so we can safely Roost before taking Earthquake. The moveset is standard for Scizor to fulfill his role as pivot and bulky setup sweeper.

BULAN (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind / Wish / Protect
- Moonlight
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower

Classic Unaware Clefable who can act as late game win con along with Scizor. She is also our primary answer to combat opposing setup sweeper, especially physical one. It is very crucial to keep Clef healthy and, if possible, provide safe switch in for her against setup sweeper. Most +1 Spe relevant attacker outspeed our entire team (if we use non-scarfed Latios), Clefable hold an important role to prevent us getting 7-0ed by dancer smasher so easily. By any mean nothing too fancy here. She is simple and bring little to no surprise, but still effective.

In Bob’s humble opinion, she is less powerful compare to previous game, we losing Soft-Boiled, but the-not-so-reliable and less PP Moonlight is still good to go. There is almost no room for Wish or Protect here. Moonblast is mandatory STAB and Flamethrower is irreplaceable or otherwise opposing Scizor will use her as setup fodder. If you guys really need a more conservative Clefable, go replace Calm Mind with Wish or Protect. Bob personally never tried it yet and probably will never do since is not suit for Bob’s taste, but this change should be viable.

248/252 max Def with Leftovers is standard, no need to go mixed def since we have Blissey. 8 Spe to outspeed opposing uninvested Clef by 2 point, a bit situational of course but it can cost us game from time to time. If that’s not your concern or you decide to use the passive Wish or Protect variant, you can go allocate it to SpD or SpA.

UTILITAS (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 32 Atk / 176 Def / 36 SpD / 20 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Roost
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Defog

Playing Gliscor is simple, but to play simple Gliscor usually requires not so simple EVs spread. For you the first-timer, 244 HP is magical number for Poison Heal and 20 Spe with Jolly is standard to outspeed modest Heatran and all kind of Magnezone barring Scarfed. Here we have a little 32 Atk to guarantee 2HKO SpD Jirachi from full. This is Bob’s personal preference. Jirachi is not an actual threat, but more like annoying as she can escape Crawdaunt with U-Turn, dealing considerable damage in process, and the other four mostly fail to do significant damage to her. The 32 Atk EVs comes with nice bonus to always OHKO Lucario and improves our odds to OHKO Infernape from full. This can be useful to secure kill as Gliscor is not the best but good enough to check Lucario and Infernape.

0 Atk Gliscor Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 206-246 (50.9 - 60.8%) -- 89.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
32 Atk Gliscor Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 216-254 (53.4 - 62.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Gliscor Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Lucario: 276-326 (98.2 - 116%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
32 Atk Gliscor Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Lucario: 288-338 (102.4 - 120.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 Atk Gliscor Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Infernape: 272-324 (92.8 - 110.5%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
32 Atk Gliscor Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Infernape: 282-332 (96.2 - 113.3%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

At this point you supposed to already knew that our Gliscor is more physical defensive due to Blissey. But at the same time Gliscor is our only mean to prevent free Volt Switch especially from the popular Magnezone, so 36 SpD investment is needed to avoid getting OHKOed from full by Specs Flash Cannon Magnezone. This is very specific, but not even Nostradamus can predict Volt Switch right all the time. And as the good old Murphy’s law said, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”

252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Flash Cannon vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Gliscor: 273-322 (77.5 - 91.4%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Flash Cannon vs. 244 HP / 36 SpD Gliscor: 261-307 (74.1 - 87.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Poison Heal

The rest 176 EVs dumped to Def, turned our Gliscor into reliable physical tank. Gliscor also act as defogger and pivot, so all moves are the best he can get. Alternative move like Knock Off, Protect, Taunt, and the other are not tested yet. For now Bob will stick to this and it’s not like Bob want to change it anyway since it mean Gliscor’s roles will not exactly same anymore.

F-15 (Latios) (M) @ Life Orb / Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Sleep Talk / Surf / Roost

Some people say, “Not having Draco Meteor on Latios can be considered as mental illness.” But when it miss, they went mental. Draco Meteor destined to comically miss, if you want to live a good life don’t use Draco Meteor. Bob himself is living proof that Latios can go fine without Draco Meteor.

We are piloting our blue jet plane just like typical fast special attacker. Psychic is our bread and butter STAB. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam for text book Bolt-Beam that gives us almost perfect coverage. For last move but not least, we have Sleep Talk as strongest answer to Breloom’s Spore, especially when Gliscor not poisoned yet. Latios’ typing naturally resist Breloom’s STAB so Bob decide to make the most of it. Sleep Talk catch so many player off guard, surprising not only Breloom but also the occasional Spore Smeargle lead. Tangrowth and Roserade fell victim to it as well. This is of course comes with a price of being useless when the opposing team have no Spore or Sleep Powder user lmao. But given the high usage of Breloom, it’s nice to have this heat tech on our blue jet plane. If this is not your thing, going all out attack with Surf or playing more safe with Roost are perfectly acceptable.

For the item, Life Orb is Bob’s first choice. Extra power and the ability to switch moves makes Latios almost oppressive against slower matchup. But sometimes Bob wishes he have Scarfed Latios when facing water setup sweeper. Bob will explain more about this later in threat list section, but basically Feraligatr, Gyarados, and Salac Manaphy can obliterated our team at +1 Spe. Our Unaware Clef sometimes can’t hold on her own and those three resisted Aqua Jet + Bullet Punch, making revenge kill them is hard task (but not impossible) without Scarfed Latios. In the end, Bob still favour Life Orb over Choice Scarf, like 60:40 or something. But the final choice is yours. The EVs is straightforward.

THREAT LIST

:feraligatr::gyarados:
Water Setup Sweeper
They have something in common: hit hard, outspeed our entire team at +1 Spe, and able to resist two of our priority. It is important to keep Clefable healthy to fight them. They commonly comes with Dual Screen support, so do your best to prevent screen and don’t get caught in checkmate situation where they comes safely behind the screen, especially Light Screen since we rely on Clefable to take them down. Lastly, pick your God and pray so our Clef don’t get that skillful crit of flinch by Gyarados’ Waterfall.

:manaphy:
Manaphy
Depend on the set. Normally Clefable can use Manaphy as setup fodder, Blissey can be sacrificed if you need Clef healthy, and Latios able to 2HKO. But Salac variant is highly dangerous due to same reason with abovementioned Feraligatr and Gyarados. Skill Swap is also threatening as it neutralize Unaware from our Clefable. Good thing is, the holy council currently suspecting Manaphy. Bob has neutral opinion on her but if Manaphy got banned, it would be nice for this team.

:staraptor:
Staraptor
Commonly Banded or Scarfed, both of them are full with murderous intent. We have no safe defensive play as Staraptor able to OHKO / 2HKO our entire team. If this suicidal bird comes in for free, heavy damage on our team is imminent. Luckily Staraptor is short-lived thanks to recoil and weakness to Stealth Rocks, so try to set it up whenever possible. Make an effort to preserve and never trade Crawdaunt or Scizor recklessly so we can revenge kill safely. LO Latios also able to kill non-scarfed variant, but the moment we deduces opposing Staraptor is not scarfed, this bird must have done significant damage already.

Banded Breaker
They’re all called breaker for a reason so this require no lengthy explanation. A proper move able to OHKO / 2HKO our team but we have Dragon/Fairy/Steel core and several immunities + resistances in our team, Latios also able to outspeed all non-priority Banded Breaker afaik, so smart play and prediction is needed to overcome this threat.

:infernape::garchomp:
Mixed Attacker
The name say it all, this multi dimentional attacker more than able to punch massive holes from our weak side. They usually comes with Life Orb (but not always), this can be bittersweet as they hit harder but can makes us more cautious for the possibility of facing mixed attacker so we can prepare and predict better. Bob keep alert at all times when facing Infernape since this blazing monkey tend to have 9000% accurate Overheat at the time of writing.

:bidoof:
Genetically Engineered Pokemon Prodigy with PhD and Luck of God
No counterplay.

IMPORTABLE

CONCLUSION

Thank you for reading this far, Bob truly appreciate it! Bob makes his best effort to minimize the classic bullshit miss we all hate. No team can be perfect, but the team that can guarantee everything you unleash will hit is stress free and Bob categorize that as fun. Bob win in his own way and makes sure he can only be defeated by his own error or the opposing dude simply better (sometimes godlike luck matter or divine fore-ordainment destined us to lost but we can do nothing about it).

Bob hopes you have a good day!

Best regard,
Bob
