01. Mega Punch

General Location: Mt. Moon, Celadon City
Specific Location: Traverse the entire first floor of Mt. Moon until you see a ladder next to a Youngster. Follow the path and get the TM on the mound north of the Team Rocket Grunt. It can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 3000 Poké Dollars.
02. Razor Wind
Normal
General Location: Rocket Hideout, Celadon City
Specific Location: Traverse the entire hideout until you reach the fourth floor underground. Go north until you find the room with the Team Rocket Grunt who holds the Lift Key. The Poké Ball containing the TM is next to the tables. It can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 2000 Poké Dollars.
03. Swords Dance
Normal
General Location: Silph Co.
Specific Location: On the seventh floor, open the gate located directly below the stairs or the elevator using the Card Key. In the following room, the TM for Swords Dance should be in the bottom right corner.
04. Whirlwind

General Location: Route 4
Specific Location: After traversing Mt. Moon, head right and go up the hills until the TM is in sight.

Specific Location: On the second floor of Victory Road, solve the first Strength puzzle and go through the elevated plateau. After exiting, head left to find the TM. It can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 3000 Poké Dollars.

Specific Location: The TM for Toxic is received as a reward for defeating Koga in the Pokémon Gym.
07. Horn Drill

General Location: Rocket Hideout, Celadon City
Specific Location: On the second floor underground in the Rocket Hideout, follow the arrows until you arrive at the Poké Ball in the upper center part of the maze. It can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 2000 Poké Dollars.
08. Body Slam

General Location: S.S. Anne
Specific Location: Upon entering, go left until you see the stairs. The second room before the stairs contains the TM. This TM can be permanently missed once the S.S. Anne leaves the Vermilion City port.
09. Take Down

Specific Location: On the fifth floor, head left and then south until you come across a gate with boxes behind it. Open the gate with the Card Key and claim the TM. Warp panels can also be used to get there. The TM can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 3000 Poké Dollars.

Specific Location: On the third floor underground, go south and past the Team Rocket Grunt. The TM is found in the sole room south of him.

Specific Location: Exiting from the Lavender Town Gate, go south and use Surf to access the small strip of land that contains the TM.

Specific Location: On the second floor of Victory Road, solve the first Strength puzzle and head north. Skip the stairs and pass the Tamer. Head right past the Juggler and claim the TM when you make it to the end. The TM can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 3000 Poké Dollars.

General Location: Celadon City
Specific Location: Head to the Celadon Department Store and go to the third floor. The man behind the counter gives away the TM when spoken to.
19. Seismic Toss
Fighting
General Location: Route 25
Specific Location: Traverse the maze of trainers until a tree is in sight. Either you must use Cut on it to enter the TM's area, or you can face the male Jr. Trainer two tiles below to gain an opening.
20. Rage

General Location: Route 15
Specific Location: Enter the route from Fuchsia City and head right across the ledge. Use Cut on the tree at the very end and head west on the plateau. The TM rests at the end of the path.
21. Mega Drain

General Location: Celadon City
Specific Location: The TM for Mega Drain is received as a reward for defeating Erika in the Pokémon Gym.
22. SolarBeam
Grass
General Location: Pokémon Mansion
Specific Location: Traverse the Pokémon Mansion in its entirety and head to the lowest level. Open the gate at the north using the Mewtwo statue and continue opening gates until you come across a table with the TM on top.
23. Dragon Rage

General Location: Celadon City
Specific Location: The TM can be purchased at the rightmost counter in the Game Corner prize booths for 3300 coins.
24. Thunderbolt

General Location: Vermilion City
Specific Location: The TM for Thunderbolt is received as a reward for defeating Lt. Surge in the Pokémon Gym.
25. Thunder

General Location: Power Plant
Specific Location: Traverse the maze by going south, east, and then south near the first three forks to reach the southeastern room. The TM is found inside the leftmost Poké Ball.
26. Earthquake

Specific Location: On the tenth floor, head left and then south until you come across a gate with boxes and a Team Rocket Grunt behind it. Open the gate with the Card Key and pick up the TM on the left side of the boxes.

Specific Location: The TM for Fissure is received as a reward for defeating Giovanni in the Pokémon Gym.

Specific Location: After obtaining the S.S. Ticket from Bill, pass the looted house and defeat the Team Rocket Grunt to receive the TM.

Specific Location: At the bottom right of the city, Mr. Psychic's house can be accessed. Talk to him to receive the TM.

Specific Location: Use Cut on the tree to gain access to Route 9 from Cerulean City, pass the female Jr. Trainer, and head down two ledges to claim the TM.

Specific Location: On the second floor, head towards the left. After opening the gate with the Card Key, speaking to the woman in the right corner will yield the TM. Warp points can also be used to get to her.
37. Egg Bomb

General Location: Safari Zone, Celadon City
Specific Location: Enter the Safari Zone, and head east. In that area, cross the hill and make it to the lake. The TM should be at the edge of the grass. The TM for Egg Bomb can also be purchased from the Celadon Department Store for 2000 Poké Dollars.
38. Fire Blast

Specific Location: The TM for Fire Blast is received as a reward for defeating Blaine in the Pokémon Gym.
39. Swift

General Location: Route 12
Specific Location: Enter the gate from the south of Lavender Town and access the second floor. The grieving girl inside gives you the TM.
40. Skull Bash

General Location: Safari Zone
Specific Location: Enter the Safari Zone, and go to the northern area above the Central Hub by either utilizing Surf or crossing the east side and making the long trek around. The TM is found in the middle of the northern area right next to the rest house.
41. Softboiled

General Location: Celadon City
Specific Location: Head towards the Game Corner and find the small pond next to it. Use Surf to cross it and talk to the old man to receive the TM.
42. Dream Eater

General Location: Viridian City
Specific Location: Head left from the Pokémon Center and use either Cut or Surf to access the area where the drowsy man is. The TM is received after you talk to him.
43. Sky Attack

General Location: Victory Road
Specific Location: On the first floor of Victory Road, head towards the top right corner of the room. Use Strength to move the boulder to the left. The Poké Ball that is north of the player contains the TM.
44. Rest

Specific Location: Upon entering, head right and down the flight of stairs. The fourth room to the left of the stairs contains the TM. This TM can be permanently missed once the S.S. Anne leaves the Vermilion City port.

Specific Location: After exiting the Nugget Bridge, head left towards the plateau to find the TM.
46. Psywave

General Location: Saffron City
Specific Location: The TM for Psywave is received as a reward for defeating Sabrina in the Pokémon Gym.

Specific Location: After making to the third floor of Victory Road, head north and traverse the long passage to the left. The TM is found south of the ending.
48. Rock Slide

General Location: Celadon City
Specific Location: Head to the Celadon Department Store and make it to the roof. A little girl will give you the TM for Rock Slide when given Soda Pop, which can be purchased from the vending machines nearby.
49. Tri Attack

General Location: Celadon City
Specific Location: Head to the Celadon Department Store and make it to the roof. A little girl will give you the TM for Tri Attack when given Lemonade, which can be purchased from the vending machines nearby.
50. Substitute

Specific Location: The TM can be purchased at the rightmost counter in the Game Corner prize booths for 7700 coins.

HMs

01. Cut
Normal
General Location: Vermilion City
Specific Location: Head to the S.S. Anne and make it to the captain's quarters. The HM for Cut is received after talking to him.
02. Fly
Flying
General Location: Route 16
Specific Location: Head west of Celadon City and use Cut on the tree. Pass the gate and enter the house. The lady inside will give out the HM when spoken to.
03. Surf
Water
General Location: Fuchsia City
Specific Location: Head to the Safari Zone and make it to the Secret House. The HM is given by the man inside.
04. Strength
Normal
General Location: Fuchsia City
Specific Location: The Gold Teeth, obtained from the Safari Zone, are needed for this. Head right of the Pokémon Center and enter the first house. The HM is received after giving the Gold Teeth to the Safari Warden.
05. Flash
Normal
General Location: Route 2
Specific Location: Head south of where Diglett's Cave is and use Cut on the tree past the house. Inside the gate, Professor Oak's aide will evaluate the PokéDex and will grant you the HM for Flash if 10 species of Pokémon have been registered.
