With its Crowned forme being sent to the shadow realm, Zacian now finds itself to be one of the most powerful wallbreaker in the tier! Play Rough backed up by Choice Band is extremely powerful, 2HKOing Groudon, defensive Eternatus, and Lunala while OHKOing some noteworthy threats such as Dragon Dance Zygarde-C, Urshifu-S, and Xerneas. Furthermore, Zacian's coverage moves discourage Fairy-resistant Pokemon to switch in; Close Combat OHKOes Ferrothorn, Wild Charge can OHKO Ho-Oh, while Close Combat and Crunch both pressure defensive Necrozma-DM. An Adamant nature is preferred to maximize damage output and enable Zacian to land the crucial 2HKO on physically defensive Necrozma-DM. Specially defensive Yveltal offers a switch-in to Calyrex-S and can bring Zacian in the field with a U-turn. Xerneas appreciates Zacian being able to lure in Ho-Oh with Wild Charge and can weaken Necrozma-DM for Zacian, and vice versa. Kyogre threaten Necrozma-DM with its Water-type moves while reducing the recovery provided by Morning Sun. Finally, Gothitelle is able to trap and eliminate Necrozma-DM, Ho-Oh, and Tangrowth, the biggest roadblocks for Zacian.

A Play Rough backed up by Choice Band is extremely powerful and can , 2HKOing defensive Eternatus, Defensive Lunala and Groudon. Play Rough also lets Zacian act as a good revenge killer to some while KOing some noteworthy threats such as Dragon Dance Zygarde-C, Urshifu-S, Xerneas and unboosted Zekrom. Furthermore, Zacian's coverage moves can discourage Fairy-resistant Pokemon to switch in Play Rough; Close Combat OHKOs Ferrothorn, Wild Charge can OHKO Ho-Oh, while Close Combat or Crunch pressures defensive Necrozma-DM. An Adamant nature is preferred, maximizing damage output and enabling Zacian to land the crucial 2HKO on physically Defensive Necrozma-DM. Appreciated teammates include: Specially defensive Yveltal offering a Calyrex-S switch in and can bring Zacian in the field with a slow U-turn support to help bring Zacian in, it can also absorb Knock Off for Zacian, as it doesn't want to see its Choice Band being removed. (Yve doesn't really like losing HDB and only NDM can knock off Zacian safetly, but it'd rather go for the sunsteel), Xerneas which appreciates Zacian being able to surprise and OHKO opposing Ho-Oh with Wild Charge, while also being able to work with Zacian to wear down a shared check in Necrozma-DM, and Kyogrewhich threats Necrozma-DM while reducing it's recovery from Morning Sun. It also appreciates Zacian's ability to threaten Blissey, Eternatus and Ferrothorn. Gothitelle is another partner that is able to trap and eliminate Necrozma-DM, Ho-Oh and Tangrowth, of the biggest roadblocks for Zacian.
