Yveltal is a truly destructive wallbreaker in AG, breaking through almost every Pokemon with its excellent coverage options, strong STAB combination boosted by Dynamax, Life Orb, and Dark Aura. Offensive Yveltal also soft checks one of the biggest threats: Calyrex-S. Max Darkness overwhelms checks such as Eternatus and Ho-Oh, while Max Airstream mauls Dark-resistant Pokemon like Xerneas and Yveltal. Sucker Punch is needed to potentially pick off Calyrex-S while nailing Blissey under Dynamax. Taunt shuts down Defoggers such as opposing Yveltal and Ho-Oh and entry hazard leads such as Shuckle. Alternatively, Heat Wave is a useful tool against Zacian-C. Roost is also an option to keep Yveltal healthy against Calyrex-S. Slurpuff sets Sticky Web on hyper offense teams, letting Yveltal outspeed Calyrex-S, Groudon, and Marshadow immediately. Calyrex-S can pass Nasty Plot boosts onto Yveltal with Baton Pass, letting it pressure checks like Eternatus and Ho-Oh very easily. Necrozma-DM is a useful teammate to check Zacian-C and Xerneas. An entry hazard remover like Excadrill, or Ho-Oh on bulky offense, is also appreciated to mitigate Yveltal's Stealth Rock weakness.
