I am fairly new to Pokemon. I have found it to be a highly complicated, deep game. There are so many facets, and details to keep track of I know that I am probably missing some very obvious flaws. Any help would be highly appreciated :) Any criticism is openly welcomed. Thanks guys for taking the time to review my team.

Yanmega (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

I saw a youtube clip of "pikawu" using a specs Yanmega opening and I really liked it. A lot of people start with pretty defensive pokemon for entry hazards. I like the idea of starting with a highly offensive pokemon to blast through some teams early. With the tinted Lens ability I am able to hit other team openers pretty hard even if they resist. I find that it's especially nice since Yanmega is so susceptible to stealth rocks that it is nice to hit teams hard with him before the real weaknesses set in with the duration of the game.

Darmanitan (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Superpower

Darmanitan is my attack oriented pokemon on this team. Flare Blitz and Superpower are for hard hits for neutral damage on bulkier pokemon in UU. Earthquake is for combating other fire types or groundtypes.

Dusclops (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sleep Talk
- Seismic Toss

Dusclops is my defensive wall. The eviolite raises his defense to awesome levels. His will-o-wisp will halve offensive attack oriented pokemon thus crippling them against frailer pokemon on my team like Scollipede and Yanmega

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trait: Download
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover

I love the Ducktank porygon 2 use. I couldn't think of any other special defense oriented pokemon I wanted to use for my team. I wanted access to a thunder and ice related move while still maintaining some strong defense. Porygon 2 seemed perfect. Porygon2 serves as my special attacker and my special defensive wall.

169.gif

Crobat (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Atk / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- Roost
- Toxic

I invested most of my stats for Porygon2 into SAtk so I feared I was leaving Porygon2 susceptible to strong fighting attackers. Crobat is mean to be a strong pair for Porygon2. Crobat tries to cover Porygon2's in the Special defense department.

Scolipede (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Spikes
- Megahorn
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

I really like a lot of things about Scollipede. In my opinion bug poision type coverage is kind of crappy. It leaves them susceptible to a lot of different attacks making Scollipede a little bit of a glass cannon. I gave Scollipede a focus sash to insure that I can counter whatever comes in. Of all the pokemon on this team Scollipede is my favorite but also the most worrisome. His great speed stat allows him to out speed most pokemon. My idea for him is to come in on defensive walls and begin setup with entry hazards.

Thanks guys for taking the time to look over my team

I've been playing with this team more and I have found that I have a pretty strong weakness to bulk watertypes like Suicune. My Porgon2 has thunderbolt but that's proving not to really be enough to take Suicune down. Any suggestions on a new pokemon I should add to fix that problem?

Has anyone had the chance to look at my team? I was thinking of using a Calm Minding Suicune in place of my Scollipede. What do you guys think?

The Suicune is a bad idea.

Your team currently two weaknesses to it with Crobat and Scolipede, if you replace Scolipede with Suicune you then have 3 weaknesses to electric.

I really love Yanmega and have pushed myself to use if effectively but it really can't be done and should probably be RU instead of UU but in RU it is too powerful. In UU it really can't make a stand as much as I would like it to. Sorry.

Definitely! Try using a cleric Roserade, as she can heal your electric weakness, check suicune, lay hazards, and use aromatherapy to cure pory 2 of toxic and cure dusclops rest. I'm not sure about the legality of spikes/aromatherapy together, but If you encounter that problem in team builder opt for aromatherapy.

Not a true expert on this mon but
Roserade @ Black Sludge
252 hp, 252 SpD
Spikes
Aromatherapy
Giga drain
Rest

Weird set, but should fit your purposes fairly well. Check the onsite analysis for more information, and keep in mind that aromatherapy is VERY useful to keep dusclops and pory2 alive longer.

Hi ! Nice team there, I should definitely try Specs Yanmega.

I agree with TheStarRapper for the Roserade.

I've nothing to say, except for Hazards. Your team is pretty defensive, except for Yanmega and Darmanitan which are weak to Stealth Rocks. SR + Spikes will make you using Rest/Recover more often. Roserade can absorb T-Spikes but Spikes and rocks will still hurt.

Another thing is that you have now 3 pokes weak to Ice. Moreover, strong fire type pokémons like Victini or Darmanitan can do damages after SR.

My suggestion is to try Blastoise over Crobat. Adding a Spinner + a resistance to Ice moves is good I guess. Scald goes well with Will-o-Wisp from Dusklops and help for opponent's Darmanitan/Victini.

Try this and let me know if that works. Hope I've helped ;)

Those are both great options! Thanks guys!

GodotFr, I really like the blastoise idea. Is this what you had in mind (below)
Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Toxic
- Roar

I've implemented both pokes (Blastoise and Roserade) I'll be trying them out for the next few days and post back on improvements.

I made Roserade with Spikes and Aromatherapy and Nothing told me it was illegal that I saw. Is there a reason you suggested black sludge instead of leftovers StarRapper?

I know Sawsbuck is an NU pokemon but I've been having a lot of luck with him. He is very fast, plus I used a lot of EVs in his speed. I know you mentioned you wanting a grass type and Sawsbuck is a very good pokemon. I'm not sure why he is in NU. I hope this helps. I'm not very experienced so I may not know what I'm talking about.
