[SET COMMENTS]
  • Landorus-T's access to strong Ground-type damage in Earthquake, pivoting ability in U-turn, immunity to Thundurus's Prankster Thunder Wave, and Intimidate makes it one of, if not the very best, Pokemon in XY Doubles. Assault Vest Landorus-T acts as a soft check to the majority of the tier thanks to its power, bulk, and offensive coverage. The bulk that Assault Vest grants it cannot be understated, as attacks like uninvested Thundurus's Hidden Power Ice and consecutive Psycho Boosts from Deoxys-A fail to 2HKO it.
  • Landorus-T's offensive coverage is virtually perfect, as it always has something it can throw at any Pokemon. Volcanion and Mega Gengar are cleanly 2HKOed by Earthquake, Talonflame is obliterated by Stone Edge, while Thundurus and Mega Salamence are 2HKOed, and Mega Kagaskhan, Porygon2, and Ferrothorn all get smacked hard by Superpower. Even Pokemon like Cresselia and Amoonguss that aren't particularly threatened by Landorus-T make perfect targets to U-turn and reposition against.
  • Stone Edge is used over Rock Slide, as it secures many more important KOs, such as 2HKOing bulky Thundurus through Sitrus Berry.
  • Landorus-T uses lots of special investment to better take on the many special attackers in XY DOU like Volcanion, Mega Gengar, and Thundurus. The speed investment allows it to outrun Adamant Bisharp.
  • Opposing Landorus-T can halt its progress very easily, so pairing it with Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Gastrodon, and Porygon2 that threaten it with strong Ice Beams is recommended. Using Landorus-T also means being conscious of the Defiant matchup from Bisharp and Thundurus, but these Pokemon can be answered by the likes of Low Kick Mega Kangaskhan or Will-O-Wisp Mega Gengar, respectively.
  • Landorus-T can also utilize a Rocky Helmet set to punish attacks like Mega Kangaskhan's Seismic Toss or U-turn from opposing Landorus-T and Genesect. It makes great use of Stealth Rock in its last moveslot to wear down Thundurus, Talonflame, and Volcanion.

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Choice Scarf Landorus-T trades longevity for the ability to put way more pressure on individual targets, such as outspeeding Mega Gengar before it can use Will-O-Wisp or Mega Kangaskhan before it can use Seismic Toss. Its Speed, coupled with access to U-turn and Intimidate, makes it one of the best pivots in the tier.
  • Rock Slide makes great use of Landorus-T's high speed, chipping foes and having over solid chances to flinch. Stone Edge is still a solid option for more damage output.
  • Jolly nature is required to outspeed Deoxys-A.
  • Choice Scarf Landorus-T tends to force defensive counterplay like Protect or switches from opponents to catch it locking into an inopportune move, so using U-turn liberally until it's safe to attack is recommended. Earthquake should be used with caution in order to avoid spots a few turns down the line where Earthquake would damage partner Pokemon that can't Protect or aren't immune to Ground.
  • Because Landorus-T will pivot with U-turn often, pairing it with bulky Pokemon like Volcanion, Thundurus, Porygon2, and Conkeldurr that can switch into attacks and sponge damage easily is recommended.

  • Assault Vest Landorus-T acts as a soft check to the majority of the tier thanks to its power, bulk, and offensive coverage. Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Gengar are threatened by Superpower and Earthquake respectively, Thundurus's Hidden Power Ice fails to 2HKO while not wanting to take a Stone Edge, Volcanion can't take too much chip damage or it will go down to Earthquake. Even Deoxys-A's Psycho Boost doesn't 2HKO. rewrite to make points in first sentence of this bullet + points the current first bullet the lead-bullet post-check. Current first bullet is currently just about general Landorus-T; it's supposed to be a bullet about AV Lando-T, and thus 1st bullet currently doesnt do the set justice. AV is very much as integral to what makes Landorus-T the Pokemon it is in XY rn, and its mention should not be delayed. Just make post-check 2nd bullet an elaboration of how much it can check stuff (like what you currently have, just rewritten for brevity). Alternatively, make the first bullet a point about how Intim + AV + power makes it thanos, and lump its additional utility (u-turn, twave immune, eq utility) with the other points in 2nd.
  • Stone Edge is used over Rock Slide as it secures many more important KOes, such as 2HKOing bulky Thundurus through Sitrus Berry.
  • Superpower is a safe covering option, being both high power and perfect accuracy, and hitting Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Porygon2, and Ferrothorn.
  • Landorus-T uses lots of special investment to better take on the many special attackers in XY DOU. examples The speed investment allows it to outrun Adamant Bisharp.

  • Mention Helmet here. Optionally mention a different spread. Mention how Helmet is still good specifically for rocks access, while the helm is nifty for knag

  • Choice Scarf Landorus-T trades longevity for the ability to put way more pressure on individual targets, such as outspeeding Mega Gengar before it can be hit with Will-O-Wisped or Mega Kangaskhan before it can be Seismic Tossed. make a brief mention to its pivoting role and important Intim access here, it feels repetitive but we have to expect that people will only look at one specific set and not read the general lando-t points on the other one. you can do something like "while still utilizing its Intimidate in a pivoting role, bla bla bla" or something
  • Rock Slide makes great use of Landorus-T's high speed, chipping foes and having over a 45% chance to flinch one target per turn. Stone Edge is still a solid option for more damage output.
