Okidogi @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guard Dog
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
Doubles OU's fiercest canine packs a punch! With the ability Guard Dog, Okidogi boasts a strong matchup into one of the most used Pokemon, Incineroar. Guard Dog also serves as a deterrent to Ting-Lu-focused teams, as it is unable to be forced out with Whirlwind. Its uncommon typing lends it a few advantages against common metagame threats, with its powerful STAB Gunk Shot letting it comfortably OHKO all Ogerpon formes and Rillaboom. Drain Punch handles Kingambit, Chien Pao, and Incineroar after one boost from Guard Dog. Tera Dragon is chosen to have an even stronger matchup into the Ogerpon formes and to lose its weakness to Landorus's Earth Power and Psychic-type spam. Okidogi's Speed investment lets it outspeed Dragapult and Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T in Tailwind. Knock Off and Ice Punch round out the moveset, as Knock Off provides coverage against Gholdengo, while Ice Punch deals with Landorus. Okidogi appreciates teammates that can boost its damage without relying on opposing Intimidate such as Gouging Fire's Howl or Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin. Chien Pao also has the benefit of providing a secondary way to deal with Landorus.
