Why is Medicham very little used?

I, in my opinion, see Medicham very better than Heracross. It can Thunderpunch Gyarados, Ice Punch Dragons, kills a lot of stuff with a STABed Huge Powered Hi Jump Kick or Psycho Cut. And now it has Choice Scraf, a very good toy for it.

But althought Medicham new gifts that makes it a beast and a excelent anti-starter, I don´t see any Medicham. Why is this Pokemon so few used?

Because unlike Heracross, Medicham has crap for defenses. 80/75/95 is much better than 60/75/95. Plus CS Hera has more speed than CS Cham. And of course Heracross has STAB'd Close Combat and STAB'd Megahorn, two Base 120 moves which combined with STAB and Stone Edge make Heracross a monster. That answer your question?

Poor speed I guess. 80 Base Speed is only a max of 284 if it has 31 Speed IVs, 252 Speed EVs and a +Speed nature. Probably because it is like Heracross, but most of the things Medicham does (Choice items for a start) can be done better by Heracross, who can match Medichams Attack (I think?) with a Burn Orb and Guts.

EDIT: What gmax said too.

See that problem you went and compared it to Heracross. If you said medicham is good poke I wonder it isn't more you have been fine.Medicham is more frail than Heracross.Close Combat is better move than High Jump kick,They are couple other stuff but comes down how Heracross can switch in take a hit couple times Medicham can't.

It's because Heracross posseses the unique ability to take down Cresselia (which Medicham can't). Heracross is probably the reason why Gliscor is an OU pokemon.

Also, Close Combat does around the same damage as HJK.

I think having defenses drop is better than move missing and hurting you.

Base Power. Heracross has two moves with 120 Base Power and STAB that just happen to have good type coverage, with the redundancies actualy being beneficial since both moves have entirely different counters (outside of the obvious Gliscor). Combined with Stone Edge and Night Slash to take out the fliers and ghosts that resist both, Hera can cover pretty much all its bases.

Medicham's downfall is that, outside of HJK, none of its moves top 75 BP, and unlike Bug, Psychic isn't a good offensive type. Nailing Darks, Psychics, and Grassers is a lot more useful then smacking Poisons and Fighters.

Lower power moves and the fact that it gets hurt badly by burn, while Hera welcomes it (kinda). Scarf Jolly Medicham is 438 attack and 405 speed and Scarf Adamant Hera is 383 attack and 404 speed, so its not really the offensive stats.

I don't think Medicham should be so easily dismissed. A lot of my teams have been swept by Medichams that have been baton passed speed or attack. I'm usually more afraid of Medicham when it comes in than I am of Heracross. I think because Medicham has more viable movesets. With heracross it's usually always choice scarf/banded now and never endure/reversal since it got close combat. So when I see a Heracross I know it will straight up attack but Medicham has three punches to choose from + Hi Jump Kick + Psycho Cut + maybe substitute passing. I don't really know what Medicham does well so I'm less able to predict correctly.

best Medicham i saw was passed from Ninjask and was...GOD. with more spd and atk Medicham is very troublesome. but that's the whole point...ONLY if it has more atk and spd. Medicham without spd improving nature is easily outrunned. Heracross has better base atk moves and kills more metagame overused pokes; thus making it more useful for me.
