What Is Aegislash? Currently Peaked ~1500

READ FIRST
Please note that this team is NOT for Countering Aegislash, but simply not using Aegislash in this team. Without further ado, I'd like to get started...
And, by the way, sprite credit goes to this place here http://www.pkparaiso.com/xy/sprites_pokemon.php

(None of the Pokemon in the picture are even on the team, lol)

The Introduction!
It's safe to say that Aegislash - the Mind Game player, Arceus Stat equivalent, and unparalleled sweeper - is one of the most, if not the most used Pokemon in competitive battling now. Hopefully you read above so you know that this team is solely made for just not using Aegislash. It may sound easy, but try making one yourself. With all the roles Aegislash can play out, it's hard to find something that does it as well. In-fact, sometimes even TWO Pokemon can't match the equivalent of Aegislash! I even made it more challenging for myself - I only allowed one unique item, limiting the common Leftovers. But, this with a hell lot of testing, switching, frustration, and schoo- I mean, training, I was able to make a seemingly threatening team, without Aegislash's amazing support, will it do well? Scroll down below and start thinking about it's power. And, uh, this is filler, I guess, and stuff. We all do it to make it look cool, right?

The first two Pokemon I started off with were these two. I've used them in test teams and they work surprisingly well together, and they have A LOT of defensive type coverage

images

Once this was done, we obviously wanted some offensive, and Special Attack seemed easiest for me, and I decided to choose these two, who hit like trucks together, and their offensive type coverage covers about every type in the Pokemon universe.

Last but not least, we needed some physical offensive attackers (Landorus-T doesn't really count). A lot of Pokemon in OU are physical attackers, but after a long while, I decided on these two powerful Pokemon.

After the first suggestion, I realized the team was much too weak to Rotom-W, so I switched the two Special Attacking mons for something else.

THEN, the team was waay too weak to Ice. So I switched up a few things and it looked like this:

And at long last, the team is finished and is ready to rock and roll!

21/03/2014
- Latios for Gardevoir
- Thundurus-I for Keldeo
- Scizor is new Mega

22/03/2014
- Garchomp for Terrakion
- Scizor EVs/Moves switched
- Thundurus for Greninja

Geb (Landorus-T) (M) @ Assault Vest

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 124 Atk / 80 Def / 52 SDef
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Man, this thing is nice. I took the set straight from here, by the way: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/landorus-therian.3496519/ so don't give me any credit for the set. Anyway, 124 Atk EVs are there for insuring OHKO on Mega-Charizard X, while the rest are poured into bulk equally. With this specific set, it can live one Greninja 252 Life Orb Special Attack - Now that's bulky! Earthquake is our main STAB attack, and so on, it's usually always on Ground-Type Pokemon. Knock Off is amazing, with the buff it got it can actually hurt quite a bit now, and getting an Item off is very helpful. Stone Edge is our main Flying Type coverage, usually OHKO'ing most of them. U-Turn is just if I want to do some small damage and run back in to take cover.

Untouchable (Skarmory) (M) @ Leftovers

Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird

Let me tell you a story, the story of how a Pokemon that was just filler, became a great staple in OU. I got nothing, I'll bore you guys to sleep befo- HEY, no sleeping, keep reading on. Stealth Rock is arguably the best hazard in the game as of now. Roost is there for recovering, while we hope we're not hit by a Earthquake. Whirlwind can make Skarmory get past a few Pokemon he doens't like dealing with. Brave Bird is here for two reasons. 1) My team doesn't give a crap about Stealth Rock/Spikes, Defog isn't needed. 2) So I'm not Taunt bait (I'm looking at you, Sableye).

The Great Ranged Destroyers!

HIT IT (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs
choicespecs.png

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock

I love this thing. Latios is such a hard hitter, 130/110 Offences? That's POWERFUL. Despite having seemingly less power, Latios has one thing over Mega Gardevoir - it can hold an item. I decided to choose Choice Specs as it allows it to hit stupidly hard. We have the basic EVs/Nature for Latios. Draco Meteor is Latios' strongest move, punching holes through even steel types. Surf is mainly for Heatran, but can hit other Steel types. HP [Fire] is there for Ferrothorn, Forretress, and Scizor. Psyshock is Latios' second STAB that can hit like a truck, it also bypasses through.. CHANSEY.

Poseidon (Greninja) (M) @ Life Orb
lifeorb.png

Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Greninja is a pretty amazing Pokemon. Despite being as fragile as a cookie compared to a majority of OU, it hits pretty hard thanks to it's amazing ability: Protean. I'm using the basic EVs, Nature, and Item, Life Orb. Hydro Pump hits VERY hard, it's arguably Greninja's best move. Ice Beam hits Flying Types, Dragon Types, or a few Ground Types harder than Hydro Pump. Dark Pulse is another coverage move hitting Psychic's, Ghost's, and most importantly: Aegislash (Always use Hydro Pump first, it might have Weakness Policy!). Hidden Power [Grass] Is mainly for Rotom-W and Azumarill.

The Ferocious Physical Attackers!

Inception (Scizor) @ Scizorite
scizorite.png

Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Knock Off

Ah, Inception, what a nightmare you can be. I'm using the classic Sweeper SD set, which has been working pretty well. Once a Swords Dance is up, few can stand up to it's stupidly powerful base 135 Bug Bite. Swords Dance is there because.. well, it's a sweeper! It's there to gain attack, duh. Bullet Punch is the Main Priority Scizor has, it's very deadly at a whopping, 90 Base Power. Bug Bite.. it's so powerful, at +2 almost everything in the game gets 2HKO'd if they don't resist it. Knock Off is mainly for Aegislash, but it also hits a few things harder than the other two moves.

Gen. Terra (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
choicescarf.png

Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Iron Head

Terrakion, I love this thing more then Bananas (and I seriously love Bananas). Choice Scarf makes Terrakion hit about 450 speed WITHOUT Jolly. That's very fast, and only outsped by Deoxys-S (Maybe Ninjask, not sure). We use the basic EVs and Adamant Nature as we already have all the speed we need. My main idea is to switch in on a Dark Move (Foul Play, usually) and get a +1, then destroy everything. Earthquake hits Aegislash, Heatran, and a few others. Stone Edge/Close Combat are Terrakion's main stab. They hit ridiculously hard, I can't even put it into words. Iron Head is really just there for Fairy types.

Here's the list from S Rank, to A- Rank ATM, anything marked in Red is considered a threat. All the other Mons will be added later on, this list is currently WIP:
S Rank
681.png
Aegislash - Greninja, and Landorus do the job very well. Greninja can Hydro Pump, take a Sacred Sword, then kill with Dark Pulse. Aegislash in general just can't do jack to Landorus.
006-my.png
Charizard (Mega-Y) - Landorus can live a Fire Blast in the sun (not nicely, but enough to live at 30-40% or so) and OHKO back with Stone Edge. Terrakion just about always wins, unless I miss Stone Edge. Latios has a very high chance to OHKO with Draco Meteor.
006-mx.png
Charizard (Mega-X) - Again - Landorus counters the thing like none other, Terrakion OHKO's with Stone Edge, and Latios smashes it with it's Draco Meteor's.
127-m.png
Pinsir (Mega) - Terakion's Stone Edge does the trick, Skarmory walls the common varient of Return, SD, Quick Attack, and Earthquake. Landorus can't exactly check it, but the attack drop helps a ton, and allows it to have a chance of living two hits. Greninja can live one Quick Attack (Unless at +2) and OHKO with Ice Beam.

642.png
Thundurus-I - Terrakion walks into the club and kills it like no biggie. Greninja can Ice eam it to death(OHKO). Landorus takes a HP Ice stupidly well, and OHKO's with Stone Edge, again, dies from recoil damage. Latios does pretty good, but will take a large portion of damage from HP [Ice].

A Rank

A+ Rank

184.png
Azumarill - VERY Hard Pokemon to take down, Skarmory is the only Pokemon that fares a good match against it. It CAN win, but it's pretty hard, and it can easily get lucked out (crits). Greninja can do pretty well, but will die in the end due to Life Orb recoil (Can 2HKO though). Mega Scizor can get a +4 up and OHKO with Bullet Punch and begin to sweep, but anything with faster Priority will kill it instantly (I live with about 20% left). I can take it down, but it usually takes out 1-2 of my mons. Slightly dangerous
625.png
Bisharp - LOL. Terrakion.
386d.png
Deoxys-D - Scizor takes it on, free SD for him!
386s.png
Deoxys-S - Look at Deoxys-D
445.png
445-m.png
Garchomp / Garchomp (Mega) - Can't do much to Latios/Greninja. It can kill both with Scarf Outrage, but Landorus-T covers it, and I have Skarmory who walls it like no biggie.
130-m.png
Gyarados (Mega) - Greninja wins if Gyarados doesn't use DD the first turn. Terrakion beats it unless it's at +2, Skarmory can phaze it out.
485.png
Heatran - Landorus, Terrakion, and Greninja.. They all make Heatran seem like a lower tier threat (It isn't, it's a very big threat in general, though). It also can't switch in on Latios' Surf's (RIDEN DEM WAVES).
647.png
Keldeo - Not very threatening, Latios destroy it's SOUL. Greninja will lose about 60% of it's health but always wins unless it's Scarfed.
646-b.png
Kyurem-B - Scarfed Kyurem can do some rather decent damage, but Skarmory walls (if stuck on a Dragon Move), Landorus can lower it's attack, Terrakion OHKO's with CC, Latios can Draco Meteor it, can Scizor walls it.
645.png
Landorus-I - Not a large threat, Greninja, Latios OHKO's with Surf.
645-s.png
Landorus-T - Two members of my team can beat it, Greninja can OHKO with Ice Beam, and Latios can do major damage with Surf but will die in the end (If it's AV).
490.png
Manaphy - VERY big threat, only if it has set up, though. Latios 2HKO's with Psyshock, and can live one Ice Beam, same with Thundurus (with Thunderbolt).
303-m.png
Mawile (Mega) - Landorus, and Garchomp deal with it fine if it doesn't have the -1 on it.
212-m.png
Scizor (Mega) - Walled by Garchomp/Landorus. Gets 3HKO guarantee from Garchomp/Landorus. OHKO'd by Latios HP [Fire]
663.png
Talonflame - Terrakion lives hits and OHKO's back with Stone Edge, same with Landorus. Greninja can live a non-Choice Banded Brave Bird and OHKO back.
248-m.png
Tyranitar (Mega) - LOL. Terrakion/Landorus eat up all the attacks, and can deal major damage with Earthquake/CC. Skarmory walls it, Roost <3. Scizor does great if they're not running Flamethrower/Fire Blast, and Greninja got Hydro Pump. It can't do anything to my team barring Latios.
003-m.png
Venusaur (Mega) - Latios. Psyshock. Dead. I don't need any other counter as Venu can't really do anything to them either way.

A Rank

036.png
Clefable - Scizor and Skarmory do very good. Scizor can take care of it if it's not running Flamethrower/Fire Blast, Skarmory can phaze it out for days.
530.png
Excadrill - Landorus lowers it's attack quite a lot, and can just Knock Off/Earthquake it. Greninja can Hydro Pump it, Latios can Surf, Skarmory walls, and Terrakion can CC.

658.png
Greninja - Terrakion does pretty good with Scarfed CC, Latios can live a hit and OHKO back
450.png
Hippowdon - Latios. Surf. Yep. And Greninja.
380.png
Latias - Landorus deals with it just fine, it takes any hit and OHKO's back with Knock Off. Scizor has Knock Off to kill it instantly, unless it's running HP [Fire].
381.png
Latios - Look at Latias ^^
630.png
Mandibuzz - Greninja can 2HKO regardless of it's set, Terrakion and Landorus can 2HKO-3HKO. It can't do much back though.
479w.png
Rotom-W - Latios walls it in every way, really. Landorus can Knock Off/U-Turn usually leaving them with about 45%. If Greninja gets a free switch-in, it can HP [Grass], live a Volt Switch, and the next time it comes in it get OHKO'd.
212.png
Scizor - Same thing as Mega Scizor
248.png
Tyranitar Same thing as Mega TTar >.>

A- Rank

113.png
Chansey - HAH, Landorus can Knock Off it, Latios has Psyshock, and Scizor gets free SD's on it AND Knock Off.
534.png
Conkeldurr - Latios deals with it, Landorus weakens it but won't stay in due to Ice Punch, Skarmory walls it, and Scizor walls it.
149.png
Dragonite - Latios can OHKO through Multiscale, Landorus lowers attack, and Greninja has Ice Beam.
094.png
Gengar - Landorus takes nothing from it and OHKO's with Knock Off, Terrakion does a decent job at killing it. Latios can live one attack and OHKO back with Psyshock.
130.png
Gyarados - Same thing as Mega Gyarados.
473.png
Mamoswine - Scizor can sit there all day walling it, Skarmory can do "Okay" due to Roost, and Greninja kinda just destroys it.
227.png
Skarmory - Greninja deals with this with no problem, so does Latios.
639.png
Terrakion - Landorus walls it, Terrakion can win unless the other Terra is running Jolly Scarf, Scizor can 2HKO with Bullet Punch. Latios can also OHKO if it isn't Scarfed.

Thanks for reading the RMT! Any feedback is appreciated, and the thread will be updated everytime I change it, I look forward to reading your comments :D

Gardevoir is the only thing on your team that really likes dealing with Rotom-W, which is extremely common right now, so I would suggest switching Scizor's item to a lum berry, as this would allow you to ignore a will-o-wisp and OHKO with a +2 bug bite, otherwise, rotom kind of stops scizor's sweep.

I'd also switch HP Ghost on Keldeo to Scald, just because it is more reliable than hydro pump, has more pp, and has that nice chance to burn. Latis are hit almost just as hard by icy wind anyways, and it actually forces them out, or 2HKO's before you get hit thanks to the speed drop when they switch in, which HP ghost cannot do, and Jellicent and Starmie aren't quite common enough to run HP ghost for.

Hmm.. I may actually just switch up my Mega (Mega Scizor) and Switch Gardevoir out for Latios (Life Orb, OR Choice Specs). And get something to substitute for Keldeo. Possibly Thundurus-I? I'm not sure. I'll definitely take that Keldeo suggestion, though. Thanks! Meanwhile, I'll be testing out the mons.

Edit: I finished testing the mons, look at the OP for more info, the team hasn't lost yet with a 4-0 ratio right now! :o
