I made this team recently as I have just started to get into Showdown. I wanted to make an HO team but I have found difficulty using it; I have used some other teams but have not broken 1300. I'm not sure if this is my battling ability or the team is just bad and I should go back to lurking other RMTs and using sample teams. Any advice at all would be appreciated and I would love some tips on how to use the team or changes. The main idea for this team was to centre it around Weavile and Nidoking as they seemed to be able to handle the tiers most notable threats like Lando-T, Dragapult and Heatran.

Yokai (Weavile) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Triple Axel
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
I chose Weavile because of the amount of ground, dragon and flying types common in OU. I thought a choice band set would be the best way to capitalise off of its great speed and its decent move pool. Knock-off seemed like a no-brainer as it is very powerful with STAB and brings some more utility to hurt walls. Triple axel is a somewhat unreliable move but when hit well, it OHKOes Lando, Dragapult and others. Ice shard seemed good for fast STAB that could hit scarfers and faster pokemon. Low Kick catches a surprising amount of people off guard as they don't expect a dark type to have a fighting type move, however, I suspect this is just the low ladder experience. Maxed attack and speed with jolly nature means it is only outsped by a few pokemon in the tier.

Et tu Brute? (Nidoking) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
Nidoking was my other pokemon who seemed to do well against lots of the meta (Heatran, pex, corviknight, ferro). many people don't expect thunderbolt and flamethrower but this is a one-off thing. Life orb was chosen to ensure versatility as well as not locking too many of my pokemon. sheer force is a great ability that Nidoking can really take advantage of with hard hitting coverage. special attack and speed are max invested to bring nidoking to a very hard hitter with a decent speed tier.

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psychic
- Trick
- Mystical Fire
I think I need a scarfer but I'm not sure. anyways I chose Latios, Latios has very powerful moves and a great speed tier with scarf. draco meteor allows a dragon-dragon matchup to be won with great speed as well as the move type not being resisted by much apart from fairy. psychic is the other STAB move that covers fighting types who threaten the two above pokemon. trick supplies good utility for crippling defensive walls so that they can be taken down by the rest of the team. Mystical fire is good to cover threats like ferro,Kartana and rilla boom as well as opposing ice types who threaten weavile and nidoking. max spa and spe for hitting hard and fast,

Hawlucha @ Power Herb
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance
- Sky Attack
- Close Combat
Hawlucha was the setup sweeper my team has because flying types can be taken down by Weavile allowing for Lucha to sweep . I am not sure if I need another so I just went with one of the more common ones that have been proven effective. I don't have a terrain setter so I have to use the mental herb to activate unburden. Atk and Spe are for sweeping clean and effective and adamant nat to hit as hard as possible; acrobatics abuses the lack of item after unburden and is good flying STAB that can OHKO neutral hits after a swords dance. swords dance synergises with screens to cover for Lucha's frailty and allow it to set up on walls. sky attack uses the mental herb to hit a 140 damage STAB in one turn and this is most likely never used again. close combat is Fighting STAB to deal with steel types that resist many of this teams attacks.

Mew @ Red Card
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Flare Blitz
- Taunt
Mew is the designated suicide lead of the team. it seems to be one of the best in the tier, with its only downfall being its predictability. Red card allows Mew to phase other leads or get a more favourable matchup. synchronize is great when your opponent forgets about it and will-o-wisps you, also good for secondary effects. SR and spikes allow sashes to be broken and soften up the opposition for the rest of the team. flare blitz is a great move for a suicide pokemon with its high damage and recoil. taunt is for other leads allowing Mew who is faster than the majority of leads to take momentum and get hazards.

Regieleki @ Light Clay
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 252 HP / 168 SpA / 88 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch
Regieleki is the final pokemon on the team; it possesses a great ability, spe and spa which can be used to get a very powerful volt switch. Light clay is to allow the sweepers to setup fully. hp, spa and spe investments allow it to tank some hits as well as outspeeding some notable scarfers and hit hard with the volt switch. screens allow full cover for Lucha and the rest of the team to sweep as they will be put out fast with Regieleki's insane speed tier. rapid spin is hazard control on my side so that the rest of the team can stay healthy until the needed. volt switch is the main STAB and allows Regieleki to pivot out after setting screens. i was thinking about thunder cage but I think volt switch is better at maintaining momentum.
Overall I was happy with the team until I kept losing repeatedly to threats I should have been able to check.
