Kilowattrel excels in VoltTurn cores, while also acting as a sweeper in the right scenarios, making other pivots such as Roaring Moon and Cinderace excellent partners. Powerful cleaners like Choice Band Dragonite appreciate Kilowattrel breaking their common Steel-type switch-ins, and setup attackers mesh well with Kilowattrel’s ability to OHKO Great Tusk and Corviknight. Kilowattrel is extremely weak to Chien-Pao and common priority users like Baxcalibur, making sturdy physical walls like Delta Stream Corviknight great partners. Naturally outspeeding the entire meta most common threats except Chien-Pao and Barraskewda, Kilowattrel can safely pivot, or threaten massive damage against the entire tier. Choice Specs enables 2HKOing 2HKOes fully invested Ting-Lu and fully invested Clodsdire with Weather Ball, while Heavy-Duty Boots is another option for improved longevity and pivoting. Max speed with the remaining EVs in SpA keep you ahead of the pack in speed, while still being able to sweep/break with Specs. U-turn provides safe pivoting with no immunities, while Volt Switch is significantly stronger and provides important coverage if forgoing Thunder. Pairing Kilo with anti-priority abilities like Dazzling patch a glaring counter, as Ice Shard, Sucker Punch, and Aerilate Extremespeed can revenge kill you easily. It’s also helpful to have an answer to speedy Ice-types like Chien Pao, Dragon Dance Baxcalibur, and Shell Smash Cloyster.
