Kilowattrel is one of PU's best pivots and revenge killers able to revenge kill Pokemon like Paldean Tauros-W, Inteleon, and Scrafty thanks to a strong offensive typing in tandem with an amazing Speed stat, letting it outpace the entire unboosted metagame bar Hisuian Electrode, as well as its spammable STAB moves. U-turn allows Kilowattrel to pivot away from problematic matchups like Gastrodon, Coalossal, and Florges, and it is used over Volt Switch to reliably pivot away from Ground-types like Mudsdale and Gligar. Roost allows Kilowattrel to recover off damage against the switches it forces on Pokemon like Scrafty and Wo-Chien or against Pokemon it walls like Rotom-C and opposing Kilowattrel; Roost also lets it recover Toxic and Will-O-Wisp damage from Pokemon like Gligar and Altaria, respectively, although it removes Kilowattrel's Ground-type immunity, which can be unfavorable against Pokemon like Mudsdale. Kilowattrel's choice of ability is flexible; Competitive punishes Defog from Altaria and Scyther while also potentially allowing Kilowattrel to use Intimidate drops from Arcanine and Paldean Tauros-F to become a more threatening Special Attacker. Alternatively, Volt Absorb allows Kilowattrel to wall Pokemon like Hisuian Electrode, opposing Kilowattrel, and Pawmot lacking Ice Punch while also blocking Volt Switch from Pokemon like Bellibolt and Rotom-H. Kilowattrel's Tera Types are also flexible; both Tera Electric and Tera Flying boost Kilowattrel's STAB moves, allowing Kilowattrel to achieve rolls such as the OHKO on Zoroark and Galarian Articuno with Tera Electric Thunderbolt as well as the 2HKO and OHKO on Altaria and Wo-Chien, respectively, with Tera Flying Hurricane after Stealth Rock. Tera Ghost is an alternative option that can block Extreme Speed from Arcanine and Quick Attack from Scyther and let it function as an emergency spinblocker, it should also be run with Volt Absorb to pivot around Toxtricity if needed.

Kilowattrel finds itself succeeding on offensive teams looking for a solid pivot that also operates as great speed control and a decent special attacker. Kilowattrel's ability to use U-turn relatively safely makes it an excellent partner for wallbreakers that can struggle to get themselves onto the battlefield like Golurk, Paldean Tauros-W, and Goodra. Kilowattrel can struggle against Ground-types like Gastrodon and Mudsdale as well as bulky special walls like Bronzong and Florges; therefore, checks to these threats like Inteleon, Decidueye, and Grass Knot Delphox all make excellent partners. . Kilowattrel's ability to revenge kill other faster attackers like Inteleon and Salazzle allows for Pokemon checked by these threats like Delphox and Decidueye to be good teammates. Decidueye in particular makes an excellent partner, as it can deal with all of the aforementioned walls especially well; in turn, Kilowattrel can chip away at Pokemon like Skuntank, Bombirdier, and Wo-Chien for Decidueye. Other pivots like Scyther, Gligar, and Ambipom can create a powerful VoltTurn core, pivoting often on balance staples like Galarian Slowbro, Bellibolt, and Mudsdale.

Kilowattrel is one of PU's best pivots thanks to a strong offensive typing in tandem with an amazing Speed stat, outpacing the entire unboosted metagame bar Hisuian Electrode and the niche Jolteon, as well as its solid Special Attack stat and powerful spammable complimentary STAB moves. U-turn allows Kilowattrel to pivot away from problematic matchups like Gastrodon, Coalossal, and Florges (the prior point about its SpA is fluff, but also the u-turn point isn’t explaining this mon’s role in the meta. More so, readers will be curious why U-turn over Volt, which is a good place to mention Volt in the analysis too. Expand on how these attributes make it a great revenge killer, being able to force out the likes of Paldean Taurus-W, Inteleon, and +1 Scrafty. Also reveal why U-turn is opted for over Volt Switch; it often can get into Ground-types like Gligar and Muds relatively safely, and it wants the option to pivot out on them and any potential switch-ins when revenge killing) Roost allows Kilowattrel to recover off damage against the switchouts it forces on Pokemon like Inteleon Scrafty (kilo is OHKOed by all of specs inteleon’s attacks, even scald) and Wo-Chien or against Pokemon it walls like Rotom-C and opposing Kilowattrel.(Roost is also used to combat the chip damage it takes when switching into Toxic users like Bellibolt and Gligar; see if you can compress this sentence to include both weaker attackers and status users) Kilowattrel's choice of ability is flexible; Competitive punishes Defog from Altaria and Scyther while also potentially allowing Kilowattrel to use Psychic drops from Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro in its favor (The psychic drop scenario sounds so incredibly unlikely given it would rather use SSA for the poison proc, on top of the low psychic prop already. Try something more likely, like moonblast from Florgres, as thats actually how you can flip a late game 1v1 with the right ability handy). Alternatively, Volt Absorb allows Kilowattrel to wall Pokemon like Hisuian Electrode, Kilowattrel, and Ice Punch-less Pawmot while also blocking Volt Switch from Pokemon like Bellibolt and Rotom-H. Kilowattrel's Tera Types are also flexible; both Tera Electric and Tera Flying boosts Kilowattrel's STAB Thunderbolt or Hurricane, allowing Kilowattrel to achieve rolls such as OHKOing Zoroark and Galarian Articuno with Tera Electric Thunderbolt and 2HKOing Altaria and OHKOing Wo-Chien after Stealth Rock with Tera Flying Hurricane. Tera Ghost is an alternative option that can block Extreme Speed from Arcanine and Quick Attack from Scyther and should be ran with Volt Absorb to pivot around Toxtricity.

Kilowattrel finds itself succeeding on offensive teams looking for a solid pivot who also operates as great speed control and a decent special attacker. Kilowattrel's ability to U-turn relatively safely makes it an excellent partner for wallbreakers who can struggle to get themselves unto the battlefield like Golurk, Paldean Tauros-W, and Goodra. Kilowattrel can struggle to find itself beating Ground-types like Gastrodon and Mudsdale as well as bulky special walls like Bronzong and Florges; checks to these threats like Inteleon, Decidueye, and Grass Knot Delphox all make excellent partners. (Hone in on Decidueye because it deals with all these walls exceedingly well, and it can rely on Kilo switching into some of its own counters like Wo-Chein and Scrafty, forcing them out and recovering from the cost of chip damage with Roost) Other pivots like Scyther, Gligar, and Ambipom can create a powerful VoltTurn core.
(I’m not getting a good visual on how these three teammates are synergetic other than that they also have U-turn. Any examples of common defensive cores they can create a vortex on? Or what would these three pivot on that puts Killo in a good revenge kill opportunity? We’ll need something more specific here than just a list of uturners)

U-turn allows Kilowattrel to pivot away from problematic matchups like Gastrodon, Coalossal, and Florges, and is used over Volt Switch to reliably pivot away from Ground-types like Mudsdale and Gligar. Roost allows Kilowattrel to recover off damage against the switchouts it forces on Pokemon like Scrafty and Wo-Chien or against Pokemon it walls like Rotom-C and opposing Kilowattrel, while also recovering Toxic and Will-O-Wisp from Pokemon like Gligar and Altaria. (mention that roost can be dangerous in some matchups because it makes you weak to ground and also makes your defensive profile worse overall which can lead to some really unsavory situations) Kilowattrel's choice of ability is flexible; Competitive punishes Defog from Altaria and Scyther while also potentially allowing Kilowattrel to use Moonblast drops from Florges in its favor (this feels really niche when there's intimidate wet/redbull and even other niche options that are guaranteed to lower your stats like acid spray goodra, memento tatsugiri, parting shot grimmsnarl, etc etc etc. also you take 60% minimum from UNINVESTED moonblast and the +1 does not get you any consistently meaningful damage rolls.) . Kilowattrel's Tera Types are also flexible; both Tera Electric and Tera Flying boosts Kilowattrel's STAB moves (fluff, it's fairly obvious which tera type boosts which stab move), allowing Kilowattrel to achieve rolls such as OHKOing Zoroark and Galarian Articuno with Tera Electric Thunderbolt and 2HKOing Altaria (is this through roost? if not i don't think it's worth the mention, miss chance means you're pretty much playing roulette here to begin with) and OHKOing Wo-Chien after Stealth Rock with Tera Flying Hurricane. Tera Ghost is an alternative option that can block Extreme Speed from Arcanine and Quick Attack from Scyther and should be ran with Volt Absorb to pivot around Toxtricity. (you get shamoned HARD by snarl/tb ghost, don't think this is worth the mention really seeing as you have to guess right every single time for this to be effective at all. also i would mention how it can serve as an emergency spinblocker too)

Other pivots like Scyther, Gligar, and Ambipom can create a powerful VoltTurn core, pivoting often on balance staples like Galarian Slowbro, Bellibolt, and Mudsdale.

(i would also mention that it's one of the better offensive checks to intel and therefore is super helpful to a lot of mons that don't like it)
