Got Bug Spray?

Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Roost
- Safeguard
- Flamethrower

A swarm is coming and Volcarona is a part of it. Thanks to Quiver Dance, Flame Body, and its typing, it can be a good setup sweeper that can take advantage of common Steel- and Grass-types like Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Rillaboom. The given spread allows Volcarona to take Blissey's Seismic Toss more effectively and, through the combination of Roost and Safeguard, turn Blissey from a counter into setup fodder. Heavy-Duty Boots enables Volcarona to reliably switch into entry hazards and have an easier time to set up. Pivot move users such as Tapu Koko and Slowbro are able to bring Volcarona in against Scizor and Weavile, as well as threaten foes like Urshifu-R and Heatran, which it struggles to beat. Garchomp can also help Volcarona against Haze Toxapex and Heatran.

sorry, putting a pause in this; the exact same set (except for evs being more physdef oriented) was spotlighted just a few months ago, and id like to gauge whether its different enough to actually warrant a set before making you waste time on this.

A swarm is coming and Volcarona is on it. Thanks to Quiver Dance it can be a decent setup sweeper that can check common Steel- and Grass-types like Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Rillaboom through Flamethrower. It's not just decent, it's legitimately very good; explaining why Quiver Dance is so potent helps too, and what makes Volcarona able to find setup opportunities so easily is important too. Heavy-Duty Boots enables Volcarona to reliably switchin into entry hazards and threaten the aforementioned foes, although it has to fear a Knock Off from them but in turn they must fear a burn. Given how Volcarona operates as a cleaner, Knock Off's effects aren't really too necessary to mention. Just explaining how Heavy-Duty Boots lets it avoid hazard damage and find easier set-up opportunities gets the point across much easier. Due to being Stealth Rock-weak especially after its item has been removed; pivot users such as Tapu Koko and Slowbro are appreciated to allow Volcarona safe passage. It's less because of its hazard weakness and more to give Volcarona a setup opportunity in the first place against what Volcarona naturally threatens out. The given spread allows Volcarona to effectively take Blissey's Seismic Toss reliably and through the combination of Roost and Safeguard, turn a would-be counter into setup fodder. This being at the end creates a loose emphasis on what the set is designed around doing. This should be the second sentence at least, or at least mentioning Safeguard and what it does should be first.

A swarm is coming and Volcarona is on it. Thanks to Quiver Dance it can be a good setup sweeper that can take advantage of check common Steel- and Grass-types like Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Rillaboom, giving it more offensive pressure. You can easily add "Flame Body and its typing" after Quiver Dance to better define its niche as a setup sweeper. The given spread allows Volcarona to take Blissey's Seismic Toss more efficiently reliably and through the combination of Roost and Safeguard, turn a would-be counter into setup fodder. Heavy-Duty Boots enables Volcarona to reliably switchin into entry hazards and having an easier time to set up and threaten Pokemon like Bisharp and Kartana. These are really obvious Pokemon that Volcarona can cleave past after boosting and are really out of place Heavy-Duty Boots section. Pivot users such as Tapu Koko and Slowbro are appreciated to allow Volcarona safe passage to switchin and set up. Examples are the name of the game here. What do these Pokemon pivot against? Can they put pressure on its checks? How about other Pokemon?
