Hi guys, Im really new to doubles and this is my slipshod attempt at cobbling a team together. Im still experimenting with this team and would appreciate any advice on what to swap in or out the team.
Wigglytuff @ Light Clay
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SDef / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Dazzling Gleam
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Wish
Strategy: In earlier versions of this team, I was very weak to teams with intimidate. Wigglytuff patches this weakness up very well by adding dual screens support and packing fairy coverage which is surprisingly strong with competitive.
Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- Quick Guard
- Flare Blitz
Strategy: Helps my team to function outside of trick room, sweeps up late game, and provides support for Amoonguss to use spore with quick guard when facing other Talonflames or fake out support.
Amoonguss @ Mental Herb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 192 SDef
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
Strategy: Your average TR Amoongus, throws down spores and provides extra bulk to my team with rage powder.
Kecleon (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Trick Room
- Rock Slide
- Brick Break
- Shadow Claw
Strategy: When I was looking for a physical TR setter, I would never have guessed that Kecleon would take the spot nor be as useful as it has been. Protean and Expert Belt send many of Kecleons attacks into one or two shot territory and he provides wide coverage alongside my other pokemon.
Abomasnow (F) @ Abomasite
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 SAtk
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Wood Hammer
- Blizzard
- Ice Shard
- Protect
Strategy: Previously a Khangaskhan, but she wasnt doing much for my team. Mega-Abomasnow provides weather disruption and has been pretty good at sweeping under trick room.
Slowking @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 HP / 236 SAtk / 20 SDef
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Trick Room
- Fire Blast
Strategy: My special TR setter. Not much else to say about him.

I use kecleon and slowking as leads depending on whether their most likely lead is weaker towards physical or special. If Imagine that the opponent will use a fake out lead or talonflame, I will put talonflame alongside amoonguss and defend with quick guard and spore the bigger threat.

I use this set against voltimidate teams, but is able able to get started just as well against teams with only one intimidate user. Most players are not aware of Wigglytuff's hidden ability and end up unknowingly boosting her Sp A.
