In the theme of this holiday, I had decided to make a team that’ll let you show your love to everyone! Now sure, it might not be the best gift to give out, but I believe it’s the thought that counts when doing something like this.
Heart Ache (Alomomola) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Scald
- Flip Turn
- Wish
- Protect
Alomomola is a solid wall on this team. It can absorb physical hits from a lot of things like Kingambit, Meowscarada, Roaring Moon, Dragonite, etc. While the set itself is a basic one for alomomola, the move wish can actually come in pretty handy for supporting its team. Mostly notably, it can potentially use wish to heal back up regirock since regirock doesn’t have any consistent form of recovery for some reason.
Ishtar (Enamorus) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Contrary
Tera Type: Stellar
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Tera Blast
- Healing Wish
Enamorus is this team’s fast sweep option. Its combination of moonblast and earth power means it can basically deal at least neutral damage to anything that isn’t corviknight or moltres. Along with stellar Tera blast allows it to snowball quickly if the opponent isn’t able to deal with it in time. Healing wish is useful when enamorus can’t do much to the opponent’s team, letting it heal up something like regirock or the other bulky mons.
(In case you’re wondering by the way, the name “Ishtar” comes from the Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, and fertility).
Sweety Tart (Hydrapple) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SpA / 12 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fickle Beam
- Giga Drain
- Earth Power
Since I had to exclusively use Pokemon that would fit with the Valentine theme, I had to be a bit creative with this one since most of my other options would overlap types or functionalities. Hydrapple’s typing and stats + ability regenerator means it can wall a lot of things, more effectively so if the opponent is using choice items. Fairy Tera is useful since not only does it provide even more options for defense, like against something like Wellspring ogrepon, but it also coincidentally fits with the theme even more!
Coupling (Maushold) @ Wide Lens
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Tidy Up
- Population Bomb
- Bite
- Encore
Maushold is the perfect couple to use. While it might not see much play, it can have its time to shine when the stars align. Switching into something that can’t do much damage against maushold, encoring if need to, tidying up for the speed and damage boost, and of course pop bomb or bite to deal damage. Admittedly maushold often doesn’t do very much, but it had to be used since I couldn’t think of anything else that would fit, at least in terms of “couple Pokemon”.
Rox of Chocolate (Regirock) @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Blast/Heavy Slam/Thunder Wave/Stone Edge
- Body Press
- Iron Defense/Curse
Once again, I had to take some creative liberties with this one. I personally love the regis. It’s a shame they’re so looked over compared to everything else, at least in terms of design. Regirock is here to really absorb physical hits when alomomola can’t. Most of the moveset is a given, except for rock blast. It’s good for things for frail mons with focus sashes or to damage through stuff like multiscale and substitute. Stone edge can be used instead if you prefer a “consistently” stronger move, heavy slam can deal more damage to stuff like hatterene or other fairies, and thunder wave is there if you’d rather debilitate your opponent more. Tera poison is useful to neutralizing most of regirock’s weaknesses like fighting, grass, water, and steel. Since regirock can’t naturally recover much of its own Hp, the previously shown people like alomomola and enamorus can help bring its health back up.
Love Doctor (Blissey) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Dark/Water
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Calm Mind/Heal Bell
- Ice Beam/Fire Blast
Last but not least, blissey is a solid special wall. Its set is pretty standard, however there are some slight changes. If you want, you can surprise your opponent by using calm mind and picking ice beam or fire blast to better deal against Gliscor, Gholdengo, Landorus, stuff like that. Heal bell is also good for more support if you want that instead. Tera dark can be more preferred to deal better with stuff like future sight, but water is nice too.
I understand this team might not be that good due to some of the Pokemon on the team, but I did what I myself could think of for both making it thematic and a somewhat decent team. Changes would be nice to see, but it would be preferable if the changes of Pokemon used also stick with the valentines/love theme of the team!
