[OVERVIEW]
Uxie's deep movepool and solid bulk carve a role out for it as either a bulky setup sweeper or utility pivot. Nasty Plot sets have an easy time setting up thanks to Uxie's high defensive stats, which also make them good candidates for defensive Terastallization. Options like Encore, U-turn, Stealth Rock, and Knock Off make Uxie an excellent role compressor. However, Uxie's mediocre Special Attack makes it very passive unless it's set up multiple times, and it struggles to break through common Steel-types like Bronzong and Copperajah even after setting up. Uxie's passivity means its utility sets are easily taken advantage of by common Dark-types like Incineroar, Overqwil, and Alolan Muk. The mono-Psychic typing does few favors for Uxie defensively, which can make it reliant on Terastallization to reliably sweep.

Psychic Noise helps Uxie suffocate walls like Milotic, Gastrodon, and Vaporon, somewhat compensating for its passivity. Draining Kiss covers Dark-types, but it's primarily used in tandem with Terastallization to increase Uxie's longevity. Encore can shut down walls and utility Pokemon like Bronzong and Gligar by locking them into utility moves, creating opportunities for Uxie to use them as setup fodder and eventually overwhelm them. Uxie can similarly use Encore against slower offensive Pokemon like Swampert and Breloom to force them into repeatedly using less effective attacks against it, opening windows for itself to sweep. Substitute protects Uxie from slower Toxic users like Gligar and Bellibolt, helping maintain its great longevity as it sweeps, and it can proceed to use them as opportunities to set up. Uxie also has more breathing room against revenge killers like Paldean Tauros-W and Scyther when it's protected by Substitute. Grassy Seed is exclusively for Grassy Terrain teams, and the Defense boost it grants makes Uxie much more difficult for physical attackers like Paldean Tauros-W to revenge kill, and it can open up the possibility for Uxie to run Stored Power over Psychic Noise. Tera Fairy powers up Draining Kiss and gives Uxie a great defensive typing, one that notably resists its usual weaknesses to Dark and Bug. Uxie can use Flygon as setup fodder once it's Terastallized.
Uxie is a much-needed defensive backbone for hyper offense teams, flexing both its great bulk and capability to stallbreak against Milotic and Gastrodon. Fellow setup sweepers like Scyther, Dragon Dance Flygon, and Shift Gear Toxtricity can blow holes in teams to get Uxie in position for its own sweep. Uxie can beat physical walls like Avalugg that Scyther and Flygon struggle against, while they can break past special walls like Alolan Muk. Special setup sweepers like Scream Tail can work with Uxie to overwhelm their shared checks like Bronzong and Copperajah. As many of Uxie's answers are grounded, Klefki and other Spikes setters support it well. Alolan Ninetales can set dual screens for Uxie to give it greater windows for accumulating multiple boosts. Both Alolan Ninetales and Cinccino can create additional opportunities for Uxie to set up by using Encore on foes. On Grassy Terrain teams, Thwackey is mandatory as support, and it can get Uxie into comfortable positions to set up thanks to U-turn, Knock Off, and Taunt. Other Pokemon that appear on Terrain teams, including Diancie, Cinccino, and Oricorio-P, can weaken Steel-types, while Arcanine and Paldean Tauros-F destroy Steel-types.

Uxie is a decent bulky pivot capable of compressing plenty of utility onto one set. As Uxie isn't an especially strong attacker, Psychic Noise is helpful to smother bulkier Pokemon with recovery moves, such as Vaporeon and Gastrodon. Knock Off punishes Pokemon that depend on their items, such as Gligar, Alolan Muk, and Incineroar. Uxie's ability to remove Heavy-Duty Boots from entry hazard removers like Avalugg and Altaria makes it an especially effective hazard setter. Uxie's ability to subject a foe to Encore and pivot out with U-turn makes it an especially adept support option. Thunder Wave especially annoys faster Pokemon like Scream Tail and Scyther, and it especially deters them from using Uxie as setup fodder. Heavy-Duty Boots helps to preserve Uxie's health, as it pivots out frequently and takes chip damage from Stealth Rock, while Leftovers can better benefit Uxie's longevity on teams with decent hazard control. 216 Speed EVs and a Timid nature give Uxie enough Speed to outrun Flamigo and other base 90 Speed Pokemon like Brambleghast. Tera Dark flips Uxie's Dark and Ghost weaknesses into resistances to potentially let it handle Toxicroak, Chandelure, and Basculegion-M in a pinch, and it boosts Knock Off's damage. Tera Steel has better synergy with Levitate, lets Uxie wall Flygon, and grants it a useful Toxic immunity and many resistances.
Uxie's entry hazards and pivoting are appreciated by wallbreakers like Paldean Tauros-W, Basculegion-M, and Chandelure, and they can make up for Uxie's passivity thanks to their great power. Setup sweepers like Flygon and Scyther similarly benefit from hazards, the safer positioning provided by U-turn, and Uxie's Encore and Thunder Wave creating opportunities for safer setup. Other pivots, such as Kilowattrel, Toxtricity, and Incineroar can form pivot cores with Uxie and catch foes in the vortex. Incineroar notably checks Dark-types and Ghost-types for Uxie, while Uxie can handle Fighting-types for it. Wish users like Vaporeon and Sylveon can supplement Uxie's otherwise lacking recovery. Dark-types are problematic for Uxie, so wallbreakers like Paldean Tauros-W, Flygon, and Nasty Plot Alolan Ninetales are welcome teammates. Dark-resistant walls like Alolan Muk, Sylveon, and Diancie also cover for Uxie.

Other Options

Nasty Plot Uxie can invest more EVs into its bulk to make it more difficult to take out, but doing so makes Uxie both far more passive and reliant on multiple Nasty Plot boosts to sweep. Said set can consider using Psyshock over Psychic Noise to hit specially defensive foes like Goodra and Dragalge much harder. Pivot sets can use Future Sight over Psychic Noise to put its teammates in even better positions against pressured foes. Utility Uxie can function as a setter for rain, sun, and Trick Room teams with Stealth Rock and Memento, though such dedicated teams tend to be more niche.
Checks and Counters
====
**Steel-types**: Setup Uxie sets are almost incapable of beating Steel-types on their own without setting up several times, locking them into ineffective moves with Encore, and keeping up pressure with Psychic Noise. Utility sets are too passive to beat Steel-types at all, but Bronzong and Copperajah dislike losing their Leftovers to Knock Off.
**Dark-types**: Nasty Plot Uxie cannot break through Alolan Muk and is vulnerable to its Poison Jab after Terastallizing, and its utility sets are similarly walled by it. Incineroar also checks Uxie, but it especially dislikes losing its item to Knock Off, and it can be overwhelmed by Uxie Terastallizing.
**Ghost-types**: Basculegion-M, Chandelure, and Brambleghast all threaten Uxie, but they should be wary of Knock Off from utility sets.
**Toxic**: If Nasty Plot Uxie is not behind Substitute, then Munkidori and Gligar can at least put it on a timer. Utility sets are especially vulnerable to users like Goodra and Amoonguss punishing it given their lack of recovery beyond Leftovers.
