Uxie (OU Lead)

[SET]
name: OU Lead
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Yawn/Thunder Wave
move 4: Zen Headbutt
item: Lum Berry/Leftovers
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP/56 Atk/200 Def
Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- Despite being the 14th most used OU lead, it does not have a dedicated lead set
- Reliable Stealth Rock user
- Beats common leads such as Machamp, Swampert, and Metagross
- Yawn+U-turn allows you to either get switch advantage, or a free turn to set-up as the oppenent falls asleep
- Many leads that beat it will switch out fearing the more common trick scarf lead
Additional Comments:
-Thunder Wave can be used over Yawn if your team likes paralysis support
-EV spread allows it to have as much attack EVs as possible so it has a better chance of 2HKOing Machamp, while never being 2HKOed by Machamp's Payback
-Leftovers can be used over Lum Berry if you want to live longer, and don't care about getting up rocks while Roserade puts you to sleep, or taking confusion from Machamp
-Zen Headbutt can be replaced by a different offensive move
Teammates and Counters:
-Anything that can abuse the free set-up Yawn+U-turn provides, such as Subtran who synergizes well with Uxie
-Scarf Flygon works well as it can make a U-turn chain, as well as both U-turns KOing lead Azelf
-Bulky Waters such as Swampert can be used to defeat Aerodactyl leads
-Roserade is a pain as it can put Uxie to sleep twice in a row(If holding Lum Berry) while Uxie can't do much back. Uxie still gets SR up, so it isn't a total loss.
-Suicide Leads Taunt it and leave it helpless

IMO the best way to use Uxie as a lead in OU is with Dual Screens, with a faster set. Something like this:

[SET]
name: OU Lead
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: U-turn / Zen Headbutt
move 3: Light Screen
move 4: Reflect
item: Light Clay / Lum Berry
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Yawn is interesting to force switches and all, but Uxie's biggest advantage is monster bulk + the ability to outspeed a lot of slower leads and set up a screen before they can attack, plus its ability to come in later in the match and screen again.

EVs are likely not optimized, but we can figure that one out at some other point.

I found the TrickScarf lead to be effective as well:

[SET]
name: OU Lead
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Thunder Wave
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Trick
item: Choice Scarf
nature: Impish
ev: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 Spe

Bulky as possible with enough speed to outspeed lead Aerodactyl.

Usage: 50 | Uxie | 28062 | 2.89 |
Lead: 14 | Uxie | 20858 | 2.15 |

| Uxie | Item | Choice Scarf | 38.7 |
| Uxie | Item | Leftovers | 28.6 |
| Uxie | Item | Light Clay | 23.6 |

| Uxie | Speed EV | None | 54.4 |
| Uxie | Speed EV | High (150-200) | 29.4 |
| Uxie | Speed EV | Other (3) | < 7.7 |

At first I simply assumed almost all the Uxie leads were the Trickscarf set, but clearly that isn't the case. Even assuming all the Trickscarf and Dual Screen are on lead sets, at least 12% of Uxie leads are neither (and probably far more). I think that non-Trickscarf uxie leads may be much more common lower on the ladder though. The primacy of the Trickscarfer up top though does make this a lot more viable, as many players will try to absorb the Trick and give Uxie a free turn.

It's regrettable that Uxie lacks the attack stats required to get a Machamp OHKO with STAB Zen Headbutt/Psychic, since even though you have a good advantage Payback still hurts and Dynamichax might kick in. Amusingly enough, Modest TrickSpecs can do 99.2% to 117.1% to LeadChamp with Psychic, making me think that might almost be interesting if not for Scarftars everywhere trying to absorb the trick.

Since Snorlaxe already reserved this analysis, I am closing this thread. If you feel this set should be on, and Snorlaxe doesn't add it into his OP, you are free to suggest it there.
