UU Zapdos

Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
Tera Type: Steel / Water
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Volt Switch
- Heat Wave / Thunder Wave
- Roost

The thunder bird from Kanto is now ready to visit Paldea UU! With its good typing, Static, and natural bulk, Zapdos has wonderful defensive utilities in checking common threats like Scizor and Okidogi and punishing foes spamming U-turn like Tornadus-T. Volt Switch lets it take advantage of common switch-ins for Zapdos like Garganacl and Tyranitar and bring teammates like Keldeo in. Heat Wave hits Steel-types like Scizor and Metagross, while Thunder Wave can shut down threats like Latios and annoy slower foes like Deoxys-D and Hisuian Goodra along with Hurricane. Roost helps Zapdos check foes like Ogerpon, Metagross, Lokix, and Scizor in the long run. Tera Steel provides immunity against Toxic and helps with matchups against Psychic-types like Latios as well as Rock-types like Ogerpon-C, while Tera Water is very valuable against the likes of Azumarill and for revenge killing Greninja predicting Water- or Ice-type moves. The EVs let it outspeed max Speed Volcanion and Metagross. Wallbreakers like Latios and Okidogi appreciate Zapdos wearing down Ground- and Steel-types for them and can also beat Garganacl in return. Teammates like Scizor and Metagross can help Zapdos check Ogerpon-C and Latios. In return, Zapdos can help them deal with bulky Water-types like Slowking.

With its good typing, Static, and natural bulk, Zapdos has wonderful defensive utilities in checking common threats like Scizor and Okidogi and punishing foes spamming U-turn like Tornadus-T. Hurricane and Volt Switch are good STABs that only a few switch-ins exist. fluff, mention volt switch bringing in teamamtes for mons that zap usually baits in Heat Wave hits Steel-types like Scizor, Iron Treads, and Metagross, while Thunder Wave can shut down threats like Ceruledge and in general, disturb the opponent's game plan. this doesn't tell me much more about twave; i'd also mention it being slightly annoying for slower mons when used alongside hurricane Roost helps Zapdos to check foes like Quaquaval, quaquaval is a bit less relevant atm, bring up another mon like ogerpon Lokix, and Scizor in the long run. Tera Steel provides immunity against Toxic and helps with matchups against Rock-types like Terrakion you still lose to this. i'd also elaborate on its valuable traits into stuff like latios and Ogerpon-C, while Tera Water is very valuable against the likes of Ceruledge and Azumarill ceru mu def doesnt become a lot better, they'll always click polt anyways to avoid risk of static para. i'd include mons like gatr / gren instead and mention how the water typing lets you take advantage of people clicking hydro / ice beam and revenge kill vs gren. The EVs outspeed max speed Volcanion and Metagross. Teammates like Keldeo and Ogerpon-C pair well with Zapdos as they can take advantage of Ground-types trying to absorb Volt Switch. zap naturally beats the most common grounds anyways with coverage / stab (treads / chomp, quag doesnt rlly like taking repeated hurricanes either); mention breakers that appreciate it wearing down such grounds as well as mons that beat garg too Other pivots like Scizor and Tornadus-T can form a VoltTurn core with it. i would focus on defensive partners that cover for zap instead; think stuff like metagross for stonepon and latios (mention what zap does for them in return as well)
