Rhyperior rising to OU isn't too surprising honestly. It's been rising in usage with offensive sets (Choice Band, Swords Dance) since they're nearly unwallable. Its typing, ability, and enormous physical bulk give it some nice defensive utility as well and makes it not too hard to bring in, especially with pivot support.
 
Rhyperior becoming OU because of the popularisation of its Choice Band set is not unlike Torkoal/Venusaur becoming OU when Specs Solar Power Charizard was trending.

If Rhyperior immediately falls back down next month we may need to reevaluate the system for creating a Pokémon of the Month situation.

(Unless we like the Pokémon of the Month situation, of course)
 
Dang. Tyranitar not only held strong in OU but actually rose almost 20 usage ranks. The shift from wallbreaking to more support oriented movesets that check key offensive threats definitely payed off big for it. Skarmory also managed hold strong even with its fellow metal bird being top 10 in usage. The unique set of advantages it has in its support moves are really helping it fit back into stall and even balances.
