Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Surging Strikes
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn
A great offensive typing, good Attack stat, and signature move in Surging Strikes alongside Unseen Fist make Urshifu-R a truly fearsome wallbreaker. Surging Strikes lets it take care of Pokemon like Celesteela, Aegislash, and Corviknight, and being a multi-hit move also allows it to get past Pokemon like Mimikyu with ease. Close Combat takes care of problematic Pokemon for Water-type teams like Ferrothorn, Kyurem, and Gastrodon, while Aqua Jet helps Urshifu-R revenge kill weakened Pokemon like Alolan Raichu, Victini, and Spectrier. U-turn lets it pivot out against its checks like Celebi, Mantine, and Jellicent and switch into an appropriate teammate without losing momentum. Pelipper is a great teammate, as it provides Urshifu-R with rain support to boost its Water-type attacks and can take care of Amoongus and Toxapex with a Choice Specs set. Toxapex and Swampert provide Urshifu-R with defensive support by crippling checks like Mantine and Jellicent with Toxic and covering for Electric-type attacks, respectively.
