[SET COMMENTS]
Tyrantrum has a niche in RU as a strong Choice Scarf user that pressures offensive teams heavily with its high Attack stat, the combination of STAB Head Smash + Rock Head, and amazing coverage. Additionally, it also keeps common threats such as Noivern and Raikou in check. However, common Choice Scarf users like Xurkitree, Mienshao, and Heracross easily revenge kill Tyrantrum, and although Tyrantrum is a strong attacker, it struggles against more defensive teams. Close Combat hits Steel-types such as Registeel, Steelix, and Cobalion as well as Rhyperior and Bewear harder than any other move. Earthquake complements Close Combat nicely, hitting the other bulky Steel-types such as Klefki, Doublade, and Metagross as well as Toxicroak super effectively. Outrage's perfect accuracy and high Base Power allow Tyrantrum to clean more safely late-game once Dragon-resistant Pokemon are gone. However, Dragon Claw allows Tyrantrum to revenge kill weakened Pokemon and Zygarde-10% without any risk or drawback.
Powerful wallbreakers such as Guts Heracross, Obstagoon, and Toxtricity pair well with Tyrantrum because they break through bulky teams that Tyrantrum tends to struggle with. Toxtricity in particular supports Tyrantrum with Volt Switch and can overwhelm Steel- and Ground-types that check Tyrantrum. Since bulky Steel-types like Registeel, Cobalion, and Steelix discourage the use of Head Smash, Pokemon that weaken them such as Chandelure, Volcanion, and Mienshao are important teammates. Grass- and Water-types such as Zarude, Celebi, and Milotic take on bulky Ground-types like Rhyperior and Mudsdale that complicate the use of Head Smash too. Spikes support from the likes of Roserade, Golisipod, or Klefki is also helpful to wear down the aforementioned bulky Steel- and Ground-types. Bulky Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Milotic, and Steelix take hits for Tyrantrum, since it's easily revenge killed once the opponent gets a free switch. A strong priority user like Golisopod, Durant, and Zygarde-10% can be useful to have in the background, since Choice Scarf Tyrantrum is unable to revenge kill faster setup sweepers such as Sharpedo, Barbaracle, and Cloyster as well as opposing Choice Scarf users like Darmanitan and Mienshao.
