ORAS OU Twitch Plays Pokemon - A attempt at a competitive RMT [Peaked 1594 on ladder]

You have to have heard of the social experience Twitch Plays Pokemon, where 100.000 people basically play the same game of pokemon. I have always wanted to create a competitive team based around the pokemon who was on the final team of TPP, and with ORAS introducing mega pidgeot, at least I could craft a useable team I thought. So here I present you, the best Omastar / Pidgeot / Zapdos / Nidoking / Lapras / Venomoth team I was able to create.

Lord Helix (Omastar) @ White Herb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shell Smash
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hp electric​

Praise our lord and savior, Lord Helix. In our lord we trust, and it was decided that we would use shell smash. Shell smash is probably the best possible set he can run outside of rain. The lords high special attack stat, and decent bulk makes him a supreme user of shell smash. White herb is chosen to more likely survive the common priority, making the god harder to revenge kill. Timid over Modest to out speed scarfed lando after a smash. Hp electric is for sp.def slowbro.

Bird Jesus (Pidgeot) @ Pidgeotite
Ability: Big Pecks
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ground]​

The only true Messiahs to walk on earth, Bird Jesus. All out attacking mega pidgeot was the only set I could think of being worth using, I already have defog support, and u-turn was just preferred over roost, as the team generally lack the ability to switch around a lot. Hp ground is an attempt to ko heatran, tyranitar, ampheros etc. who resist fire/flying coverage. Flying/Fire/Ground is honestly some of the best possible coverage.

Battery Jesus (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 68 Spa / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Ice]​

Save us from the hell called democrati, Anarchy Jesus. Defensive zapdos is the only set really worth running, it checks flying spam and defog hazard. I really don’t have a lot to say about this, because that line pretty much covered it… So lets instead talk about how amazing it is that we held onto our masterball and used it on zapdos! If that is not proof that Lord Helix exist, I don’t know what it is.

King Fonz (Nidoking) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam​

The King, King Fonz. I just went with a standart orbking set for this one. It wors really well, very similar to how landorus works, though it has less speed power and bulk :( The only pro here is the better natural coverage it can get. Dual stab seemed obvious, one hit grounded targets, the other hits levitating. Ice beam is for dragons, grounds and birds, while fire blast hits steel and bug, most notably steel. Overall he has great coverage, and can pull off a sweep ones it gets passed a quiver dance.

Air Jordan (Lapras) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd / 4 Def

The prince, Air Jordan. I honestly don’t know how to use a fucking lapras competitively, so I went with the perish trapper set from gen 5, I guess it can get rid of like, ferrothorn or something… If you know how to use this thing, teach me master!

All Terrian Venomoth (Venomoth) @ Leftovers
Ability: Wonder Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder
- Substitute
- Baton Pass​

If the terrain is rough, bring in venomoth. Quiver pass is just got damn annoying, and vonemoth is luckily the best option! It has many pros over smeargle as a quiverpasser, such as better bulk, speed, typing and ability. The moveset is really self-explaining, you get in on a special attacker, sets up, use sleep powder, use sub and then pass it away to either Lord Helix, Bird Jesus or King Fonz.

I hope you enjoyed this hopefulle funny rmt, feel free to use it for joke battles, i would not use it too competitively. Leave a rate, but keep in mind that the pokemonslots are not to be changed ^^
*My alt was in the low 1500's when i began laddering on the ORAS ladder with this team, i did not fight all the way up there.​

First i want to say, this is the greatest Twitch meme team i ever seen
But one thing, Your ATV? Its Complete taunt bait, so i reccomend running Somthing like this
ATV (Venomoth) @ Leftovers (You woudn't be able to fit that big of a nickname in a real pokemon game, i don't know about showdown)

I gotta say I love the team, and its concept. I recommend running rocky helmet on zapdos to help stop physical attackers. The only thing I would like to protest is the smeargle comment- smeargle often runs smash pass not quiver pass, and smeargle is just the best non-attacking pokemon in the game, so there is that. Also your team has a pretty big weakness to roar and whirlwind. with some of your Pokémon being weak to rocks and the others busy setting up a Pokémon that can use roar could completely stop your teams momentum, the only suggestion I can make to this is don't get greedy and try to set up on a Pokémon with access to roar/whirlwind, like heatran or skarmory.

Thanks, glad you like the team, I really appreciate it ^^ though I think I need both max speed and sleep powder on venomoth, as this allows me to set up on slower physical attackers, such as metagross (pre mevo) bisharp and azumarill, but I'll try the set to see is it is actually better ^^

I'm really glad you like the team ^^ I'll try Rocky helmet on zapdos, it seems really nice to catch Lando as it uturns etc. About the smaergle comment, I only set it outclassed as a quiver passer, smeagle is better at pretty much everything else (smash pass, which is generally better, and geopass, which is also better) smeagle also has cotton guard. You're also right about the don't get greedy thing, I generally try to put the thing to sleep and then pass a dance. Wonder skin does prevent roar, whirlwind and taunt a cold 50% of the time, which is pretty nice ^^
