[SET]
name:Trick Room Jirachi
move 1:Trick room
move 2:Healing wish/U-Turn
move 3:Psychic
move 4:Thunderbolt
item: Life orb
ability:Serene Grace
Nature:Quiet
Evs:252 HP/252 SpA/4 Def
Ivs:30 Atk/0 Spe

Why this deserves to be on-site:
-Can easily run through the rest of a team mid-game to late game
-With bulk provided, decent defensive typing resistance to stealth rock and immunity to sandstorm makes it easy enough to set trick room up
-Is different from other trick roomers because it can heal another pokemon should its sweep fail or has the option of sacrificing its self right away passing on the trick room to another pokemon and even though this will cost turns of trick room it will not need all that if you get OHKOS and makes predicting harder for opponent
-Attacking combination is only resisted by magnezone in OU

Additional Comments:
-While 100 base speed may seem too fast when at minimum speed it reaches 181 speed which is very slow in OU as it is very fast paced with choice scarfs revenge killers on almoset every offensive team
-Should only be used mid-game to late-game because it lacks wallbreaking power
-Loves entry hazards to have an easier sweep
-Can run a attacking move over healing wish if you want a One Man Army

Teammates and Counters:
-Magnezone,Blissey and snorlax are the banes of this set
-Infernape is a good wallbreaker that has little trouble with those three however Infernape does not enjoy twisted dimensions
-Heatran is an excellent teamate as it can roast Magnezone take the fire attack as Jirachi uses Healing wish and be in excellent posistion with full health and flash fire boost though they are both weak to ground attacks sadly
-Dragonite is another good partner type wise, is rather slow and is often being crippled with will o wisps making healing wish even better
-Pretty much any slow and powerful sweeper

put u-turn and max speed on there so you can get your sweepers in for free. That's really the only point of using jirachi over a slower psychic that can also trick room.

Max speed is a bad idea for a trick roomer and say if you were using heatran than the fire woulf be beneficial even though this may be a somewhat rare scenario but this Jirachi is meant to clean up when the really strong walls are gone and going last with max speed is a bad idea. I do like U-turn however getting your pokemon in without switching or sacrificing yourself as you may attempt to start up the sweep again so I will slash it in.

What MegaKick said. Jirachi has enough bulk to really be good at setting up trickroom and then having a "slow" U-turn to get in your frail slow sweepers in for free. Jirachi is too fast to sweep under trick room conditions and does not have enough power.

If heatran is substitute then there is no way to outspeed it during trickroom and if it is scarved then you outspeed it anyways.

Also for the attacking options (if you are using two) Flash cannon and HP ground would be your better bet. Flash cannon is your stab and HP ground covers the electrics, fires, and steels that come in and hits water types for neutral damage.

What I recommend doing for your the moves are:

Trick room
U-turn
Flash Cannon
Wish / HP Ground

Jirachi isn't fit for sweeping under trick room, with this setup he can take a hit and u-turn to your sweeper leaving them unscathed. HP ground is there to hit some things that like to come in on jirachi like heatran and infernape and KO them but note that you should be careful of heatran which is usually not scarved anymore

Ill wait for QC opinion I'm not saying you should trying to be running through walls with this I'm saying that in can sweep Mid or late game because A major walls and magnezone would be down and B I mentioned entry hazards also so with life orb this should be enough to sweep weakened or frail pokemon.

This has nothing over Bronzong. It has more weaknesses, less power (STAB 150 BP Gyro Ball going first under TR is awesome, esp with EQ to back it up), and no Explosion. It's also "outsped" by many walls, which hurts its effectiveness. I'm gonna have to say no here.

I've used Trick Room Jirachi before, but as a lead rather than a late-game cleaner. I'm skeptical as to the effectiveness of this set due to lack of raw power (as you said yourself), and a late-game cleaner for a Trick Room team should either be a Choice Scarf user or a leftover sweeper rather than a mixture of setter and "sweeper". Imo the best set for supporting Trick Room Jirachi is Trick Room/Stealth Rock/U-turn/Iron Head or something similar and used as a lead since Trick Room is the last thing people expect from Jirachi leads (and even if they do it's pretty reliable since it can U-turn out).

Max speed is a bad idea for a trick roomer

Not always. If you have a "slower" U-turn, you bring in your TR sweeper for free. Jirachi's 100 Special Attack doesn't make it a particularly effective late game cleaner, especially with only two moves. I'd rather just use a regular Starmie, which has speed, no turns of setup, and better coverage.

Setting aside that Trick Room is basically a gimmick strategy, this is even bad for Trick Room standards.

I'm doubting this set's effectiveness. Can you please provide us with logs from different battles in which you use this set? I would like to see a row of consecutive logs, not only parts that show Jirachi sweeping 2-3 Pokemon.

Are you serious? First of all before I say anything trick room bronzong is walled by skarmory, all rotom, other bronzong and even semi bulky pokemon not weak to any of its moves. It is also super vulnerable to burn and intimidate and also has rather low attack for a sweeper even if it has this "awesome" gyro ball it does not have particularly "awesome attack". Jirachi can also get out without switching or sacrificing its self and explosion is risky because of the popularity of rotom. The only really important thing is maybe being outsped by walls but thats what wallbreakers are for before you use trick room . So to say no because it is outclassed by bronzong isnt a very legit point.

If things are weakened which they generally are late game then you don't need raw power

Then use starmie but there are still lots of scarf pokemon hanging around

Ill see what I can do but how many consecutive logs do you want?

Lately, I played quite a lot with Trick Room and TR teams, because offensive TR Bronzong inspired me to do so and it gave me a better view on Trick Room. I began to test several Pokémon with TR and their offensive abuse of TR - including Jirachi.

I can assure you that Jirachi (offensive TR) is truly underwhelming (compared to other TR users) for various reasons:
-Jirachi is too fast with it's 100 base speed, as it only manages to reach 181 speed without a speed lowering item. So basically anything that has 71 base speed or lower, while not investing in Spe-EVs / nature will outspeed you under the effect of Trick Room. That includes many walls, that Jirachi hates to meet.
-Jirachi lacks power: 100 base attack / special attack are mediocre at best, more important is the lack of powerful STAB, or powerful attacks at all.

Basically, you often set up TR for your opponent and Jirachi can't deal (as you call it) with "semi-bulky" things. Also, from my experience several Pokémon do the job of an offensive TR user better than Jirachi. Most notably Bronzong, as well Slowbro / Slowking / Gallade / Porygon-Z / Exeggutor / Celebi and Mesprit, while the latter two are also kinda lacking. However, Exeggutor and PZ are surprisingly good offensive users of TR.

If you want to use Jirachi as a TR user, you should concentrate on it's unique traits. In the case of Jirachi it's most notably Wish, U-Turn, SR and also it's decent typing and good bulk. You could also use an lure-in and kill set on Jirachi focusing on Trick Room, if you want to beat common switch-ins to Jirachi, as example HP Ground for Heatran, Magnezone and maybe Infernape, Thunderbolt for Gyarados, as well Skarmory, etc. Still full of flaws.

Anyway, Bronzong is way better. Gyro Ball has usually 225 base attack after STAB, hurting quite a lot, even coming out of Bronzong's pitty attack. EQ gives good coverage and Explosion is for eleminating bulky waters. Pokémon that you mentioned that can usually deal with Bronzong give a free switch to Heatran, who also loves outspeeding things under the effect of TR and being able to carry LO and a positive nature and getting a free Flash Fire boost, because of Bronzong. One hand washes the other. Simple.

Jirachi doesn't come close to the damage output and the "speed" of Bronzong, also it has worse synergy, worse typing, same bulk (which is actually worse, because you have to use LO, to deal siginificent damage), etc. Not only Bronzong outclasses this set, also the stuff I mentioned above. Obviously Jirachi has some small advantages over Bronzong, as it can beat some Pokémon Bronzong can't, most notably Skarmory. Still, it's not enough to justify it's existence over Bronzong.

First of all I did not mention anything about using this to sweep entire teams! Yes he is a little "slow under trick room but the only things that are faster then him under TR would be walls. Thats why I mentioned wallbreakers. Lets take my favorite one Infernape for example. The two major special walls that would be the best possible counter to this set would be Snorlax and Blissey, I also mentioned using it late game (which means they would weak to the point that with entry hazard damage will be unable to wall Jirachi or Koed all together. Sure Bronzong may seem way bulkier which is wrong if you look at its hp which is 33 base points lower then Jirachi. Also I'm not saying this beats bronzong in every situation but it is far from being inferior in every situation. Finally get your facts straight skarmory is no where near as common as Rotom-A so Skarmory isnt most notably and the list is still long after that. Gliscor, forretress,Hippopowdon and the list goes on. The list of checks and counter for TR Jirachi is shorter then TR bronzong

Sorry it took so long but I have been anyway from my computer and I did not know ahead of time. Now for the logs I'm sorry that I only got 2 but these things are a pain to get between other team members doing the work, rage quitting opponents and making a mistake and getting swept. Lost the first and won the second and I did not put it in my favor and TR Jirachi at least assisted to the elimanation of other pokemon, sorry again I took so long. Also I would be happy to try to get more logs if needed

Given that you managed to cherrypick 2 logs out of what you say is a pile of Jirachi not being especially effective, and those 2 logs weren't even especially impressive, I'm still going to have to say no.

If you are going to use a TR jirachi I would suggest as a lead because most people would expect the typical lead jirachi and not bother to taunt you, other than that bronzong outclasses it completely.

@alex 67: Just a few battles, consecutive battles in which you show how Jirachi plays the role of a TR user in front of the different type of teams out there.
As you can see, the logs that you have presented here don't accomplish what I asked for when I posted what it's inside the quote. So please, can you show us some battles in which Jirachi proves to be a successful TR Pokemon? I'm not interested in seeing more logs like the ones posted above. Thank you.

Alright as requested here are 4 consecutive logs so they are not cherrypicked logs out of a pile here they are

Still not convinced. Every single time, the Trick Room was a waste of time there. Jirachi has a lot more ways to be effective than a gimmicky mediocre Trick Room set. Still rejecting.

Initial thoughts:
As a sweeper CM Jirachi does it better.
As for setting up TR bronzong does it better.
While trying to do both Jirachi seems to become "a jack of all trades but master of none"

Basically, if I was running a TR team I would probably rather run a set upper and a sweeper rather then trying to combine them, because while that may save space it's probably not going to help me in the long run.

However, I'm not going to reject this set just yet because I'd like to give you the chance to convince me I'm wrong.

While bronzong sets up trick room more safely its attack is a little low for sweeping and is much more vulnerable to intimidate or even worse burn. TR Jirachi is not vulnerable to either and instead of exploding on if your opponent predicts could be a ghost then you wasted a pokemon. Jirachi is also more unpredictable as you said it your self its a master of all trades. It has several choices; you can clean up your opponents team late game including nasty stuff like choice scarf pokemon who would give calm mind jirachi trouble. Its next option would be to switch in another pokemon to give it trick room or finally it could heal a slow crippled sweeper back to health with healing wish.

Each one of those logs showed how Jirachi is an inefficient Pokemon for Trick Room purposes. I'm rejecting this set.

I appreciate the enthusiasm you have put into this set and every single thing you have done in order to convince us, alex 67. However, this is not a set that's good enough as to warrant its own place on-site. Thank you, and feel free to try again the future.
