Trevenant

[Pros]

Harvest+Horn Leech makes it super hard to kill if you can't OHKO

Immunity to Spore and Fake Out makes it a prime Trick Room user</il>

Decent Defenses and attack to back its constant recovery

Lots of cool toys to play with like Will-O-Wisp

[Cons]

Rather common weaknesses; 'decent' 85 HP / 76 Def / 82 SpD aren't going to help you much vs Chandelure and Tyranitar

Might have trouble balancing defense and offense because of this

4MSS; it would like Protect, Shadow Force, Will-O-Wisp, Trick Room, and Horn Leech, but you have to choose between them.

[Set Recommendations]

Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Atk / 160 SpD
Brave/Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech / Wood Hammer
- Will-O-Wisp / Shadow Claw
- Trick Room / Substitute / Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

This set aims to abuse its constant Horn Leech+Harvest recovery to help keep Trick Room up or spread burns with Will-O-Wisp. If you're afraid of other ghosts such as Chandelure or Psychic-Types such as Gardevoir, you can also try Shadow Claw, though it's rather weak and doesn't have any interesting effects. If you're not using a Trick Room team, Substitute coupled with (somewhat) consistent recovery allows Trevanant to become a stalling machine, or at least as close it can get to stall in Doubles, and helps buffer Trevenant against attacks that would otherwise KO it. Last but not least, Protect is a staple move on just about any Pokemon in Doubles, but should you need the moveslot for coverage, Shadow Force can be a good replacement because of previously stated reasons, although it doesn't have priority, which can be problematic outside of Trick Room.

[Checks and Counters]

Trevenant, like the fictional zombie, will keep coming back if you don't deal enough damage in one shot. Pokemon with STAB, super-effective moves such as Tyranitar, Chandelure and Abomasnow can OHKO Trevenant before it can start cycling its Sitrus Berry, though Trevenant is capable of dealing respectable damage to the former two. Talonflame can ignore Trick Room with priority Brave Bird and is immune to Will-O-Wisp, though it can get worn down incredibly easily should it fail to OHKO a more defensive variant or because of Intimidate or Reflect. Ganging up on Trevanant is rather risky because of Protect, especially since it's immune to Feint, but is still a viable strategy should you require it.

Ik this isn't done, but Shadow Claw should at least get a mention, since the opponent can (easily) see Phantom Force coming and switch to a resist.

Wood Hammer is a possibility over Horn Leech for power over longevity. Shadow Claw is imo > Phantom Force since the opponent won't have an easy time switching to a Normal- or Dark-type, or whatever tanks Ghost-type moves the best (I suppose some more opinions would be a good idea). I can also see a Rest (probs w/ Lum Berry for whatever other status afflicts you) set being a good idea here, since unlike most ChestoRest sets you can actually use Rest multiple times without drawbacks.

The point of phantom force is to serve as a pseudo-protect to stall for berry regeneration while still being secondary STAB, not to deal heavy damage (as a note, though, forcing out a specific pokemon helps your partner fight type nail it)

Noticed a little mistake. I think you mean Phantom Force, not Shadow Force.

Also I think its many resistances in general and especially its resistances to many common spread moves and ability to fit in with a lot of offensive combinations deserves a mention in Pros. It can work easily with EQ, Discharge, and Surf, making it an ideal supporting partner for an offensive attacker.

This is just me but you mention Trev wanting Phantom Force in the cons but it isn't slashed in on the set. I spoke with Audiosurfer on IRC and he said not to slash it in with anything, but you should probably then remove its mention in pros / cons since it's not as important / useful of a move as the ones already listed

NIce job though!
