well those are most of the ones i can think of now. i know i probably missed some obvious one like "theres something about mary" but i just dont think it aged too well. ace ventura could probably fit in there and a couple more adam sandler movies (little nicky, billy madison). some i just havent watched enough to really make a comparison, like super bad, harold and kumar, office space, 40 year old virgin or some naked gun? do these deserve to be placed?

haha gotta agree with these two! i'll maybe make a list later, but i will definitely include jay & silent bob strike back, tropic thunder and superbad

FUCK i forgot borat

Scary Movie 3 is definately worthy of a slot there. White Chicks is another quality piece.
(yeah, that's how I fly)

I don't watch very many comedy movies, but ever since I saw Blues Brothers I knew it would be one of my favorite films ever.

Step-Brothers has made me laugh everytime I've seen it which is about 5 times. Toilet humor at it's finest.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but it would be a crime if Mystery Men didn't even get an honorable mention

I don't see how Clerks 2 can be on here but Clerks isn't.

i didnt find clerks to be that funny after repeated watchings, i mean, some parts still make me smile but its not the same. the pacing really kills it, but its still a great movie.

hot rod is one of the funniest films i've ever seen, but so few people seem to appreciate it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8r2a2v2Ph4&feature=related

scenes don't really do it justice, you need to experience the whole thing. i'm surprised it hasn't gotten a surge of popularity since their songs are so big now.

this post just reaffirms my love for you, i think hot rod is one of the funniest movies i've seen in a while and i honestly laugh through the entire thing every time i watch it!

okay and same goes for mystery men, i'm so glad you mentioned mystery men DPC!

+dumb and dumber
+happy gilmore
+tommy boy

these three classics were a big part of my childhood and i still watch and enjoy these movies immensely, quotes usually spring up in everyday conversation

Hahahaha I was not expecting to see Hot Rod mentioned in this thread. A buddy of mine loves the Lonely Island kids and made me go see this the weekend it opened and we were laughing throughout, especially that scene in the woods where Rod is just :falling:.

Borat tends to be a movie you either love or hate, but it had me laughing my ass off througout. Shaun of the Dead should also get a mention.

cool beans

haha, that scene was extremely random but very, very funny

Hmm... I've seen so many comedy movies I think it'd be impossible to list my favorites, but one's that deserve special mention are...

Zoolander, There's Something About Mary, Naked Gun series or whateverthefuck, Role Models, aaannnd Taladega Nights...

That's all I can name off the top of my head at 2am, I'll be back with more. ~_~

but:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwFqZPg9d8k
'i spread my buttcheeks as mike honcho'

uurgg i can't find the scene where the wife is telling the doctor she wants to pull the plug but ricky isn't actually in a coma lol

gotta say The Big Lebowski. its great from the first scene to the finale. its one of the most quotable movies i've ever seen (and good quotable, not like napoleon dynamite) and has the best characters in a comedy by far.

easily a top 10 comedy and one of my personal top 5 movies (in general).

Dumb and Dumber
- "Dear gas man..."
- "Pretty bird. Yes, pretty bird."
- "It's okay, I'm the limo driver!"
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
- "Do not pass go! Do not collect $200!"
- The rhino scene!
Borat
- "In my country, they go crazy for her. Her, uh, not so much."
- pretty much the whole movie, I can't think of anything else in particular.
Step Brothers
- Ball fro.
- "It's okay that my mask isn't movie quality!"
- "BOATS AND HOES!"
Team America
- "I promise, I will never die."
- The sex scene.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
- "Where are you?" "In a big glass box of emotion!"

Two of the greatest comedies ever produced are Airplane and Blazing Saddles. If you have not watched them I would strongly recommend you do so; they will both be swiftly added to your list.

Also I agree with Thorns in that every Adam Sandler movie besides Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison is extremely average even in a comedic sense.

As I read the posts I was getting sadder and sadder that no one had mentioned either of these, so yep definitely agree.

My favorite, though, has to be Dr. Strangelove. Peter Sellers, Geoge C. Scott (hell, he was funny in Patton, so imagine him trying to be funny...), and Slim Pickens were great. A must watch, in my opinion.

Kentucky Fried Movie is better :x

Olie, White Chicks does not belong in the top 1000 conversation.

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is my favorite movie and favorite comedy.

I still really like Anchorman, but I think everyone else pretty much fell out of love with it.

Team America does not belong at all. It is just TERRORISM BLARGHHH!!!

I personally think that Borat does not particularly work. It seems far too forced to me.

I just saw Airplane a few days ago. Very funny. I love the two black guys.

Well, if we're talking about Mel Brooks, then what about Young Frankenstein? I thought it was a brilliant movie.
