: I think this mon is really cool and underrated, especially since it's a great Tapu Lele switch-in for Offense, and if you can predict well you can break down a lot of defensive cores. 3 different viable sets also means a good amount of viability. wadusher

Ya know I actually want to put Necrozma in the archives, but it's like worse M-Latias or Reuniclus, cool mon when you think about it, but unfortunately outclassed.

  • For this week we have a sturdy Regen core in Tangrowth + Tornadus-T, Tangrowth is running the standard AV set with Grass Knot > Giga Drain for Weakness Policy Zygarde and Sludge Bomb > HP Ice, this moveset change shouldn't affect too much however. Tornadus is running a Rocky Helmet set with optimized EVs, its HP reaches a number (357) that is divisible by 3, meaning it restores slightly more with Regen, and the speed investment is for base 110s such as M-Latios and M-Latias.
  • Try to post only OU viable Pokémon and don't post sets specifically for this core, additionally your threat should not be complete deadweight against teams that do not feature the core of Tangrowth + Tornadus. Everyone have a good day!
  • Also, if you want to recommend a core to do next week, pm me the core with the sets (don't flood the thread). Just make sure we haven't done the core already, so check the archives. Also check out my RMT in my signature, it's a really anti-fat type of team so check it out if you need one of those in your teambuilder.

I'll be doing this "Song of the Week" stuff from now on, basically I choose a certain artist and showcase some of their work. Heads up though, I mostly listen to Hip Hop and Rap, so this may not be for you. Anyways, I'll be showcasing a chill track from Cardi B featuring Chance the Rapper...

Both Kyurem Bee sets OHKO or 2HKO both Pokémon on the core in question. Even if Hurricane hits twice (49%) it isn’t enough to 2HKO my boi Kyurem Bee. And Tang can’t do shit, Z-move Kyurem Bee don’t even care about Knock Off.

Jirachi as an offensive rocker baby. Torn T cannot beat Jirachi without Heat Wave and really doesn’t like getting parahaxed by a Body Slam. Since Tangrowth has no reliable recovery, Toxic severly cripples it and then you can spam Iron Head because Serene Grace RNG is a bitch. Torn-T also despises getting poisoned. Even without any Def investment, Jirachi still has quite a bit of natural bulk.

Wallbirb is here to do what wallbirb does best. With Tangrowth dropping HP Ice, this core's hardest-hitting attack does less than a quarter to Dos, while it 1-2HKOs Torn and 3-4HKOs or Toxics Tang in return. Sludge Bomb poisons are still annoying, but AV Tang lacks the immediate recovery and Fire neutrality of my Mega Venusaur nom from the last round, so Dos will always come out on top of this one.

With Torn-T not having Heat Wave, Mega Mawile can switch into it easily enough and chow down, either dealing massive damage with Play Rough or removing Torn-T's helmet to prevent it from putting passive pressure on MMaw's teammates. Meanwhile, it can come in on any move of Tangrowth's except EQ with ease, and Play Rough 2HKOs unboosted or OHKOs boosted. Knock Off also makes it hard for Tangrowth to properly check the special attackers it's supposed to. Any Mega Mawile set with Play Rough does this, but SD is nice for taking advantage of the core.

Zeraora is not yet legal as a submission in this thread. I'll allow it next week, so just wait a bit, plus submitting it would be a whole lotta theorymon considering we don't know the best or most viable set/s yet.

: I like this mon. I like this mon a lot, and it's really underrated and definitely does not deserve to be in C- with dogshit like Azelf and Nihilego, like this thing has an actual offensive presence, can switch-in to to stuff like Heatran, Torn, and Gliscor, force them all out, AND, keep itself healthy with Roost if you choose to run it. Also it's pretty difficult to wall considering it has coverage for pretty much everything, Clef and Reuni are probably the only good switch-ins and for those you can run Taunt, since Gastro takes a fuckton from Wing Attack, meaning it just loses momentum, and M-Scizor and Ferrothorn need to scout for Fire Fang. Someone raise this thing to at least C on the VR, give it justice. mellowyellowhd

  • The core we're doing this week is essentially, "Broken Mon + Broken Trapper Mon", so it's like this gen's Keldeo + Ttar. Anyways basically Reuniclus has a good match-up versus Balance and sets-up on a lot of the various staples to the Balance archetype, while Weavile has a good match-up versus offensive builds, and is able to Knock Off Heatran so Reuniclus, even without Focus Blast, is able to break past it by spamming Psyshocks and slowly chipping it. Also, Weavile is able to pursuit trap certain annoyances to Reuniclus, such as CM M-Latias and Hoopa-U, while also forcing out Tapu Bulu and SD Gliscor that can attempt to overpower it or put it in range of more attacks. Now, get to core breaking!

The song of the week this time around is a track from Ty Dolla $ign, featuring Gucci Mane and Quavo. The track comes from Ty Dolla $ign's Beach House 3 Deluxe, the regular album was released last year in October, but the Deluxe version released on May 11, and Pineapple was one of those six additional tracks.

Mega Scizor can easily boost alongside Reuniclus thanks to its typing and bulk. It can also switch into Weavile really easily thanks to the reduced damage from Knock Off with its mega stone, and resistance to Ice. Its typing allows it to threaten both very easily.​

Bisharp can easily enter into Reuniclus; if the 10% chance SpD drop from Energy Ball happens,, Bisharp will receive a +2 Atk boost that makes all simple.
The best attack that CB Weavile can throw at Bisharp's face is Icicle Crash, but only if flinches two times and if hits. Keep in mind that Weavile's Ice Shard makes Sucker Punch useless, because the former priority move is faster than the latter.

Bisharp almost OHKO Reuniclus and a small amount of damage is needed to ensure the KO, but it is really likely to happen because Reuniclus is really slow and prone to be worn down.
Weavile is sent into oblivion by an Iron Head.

Mega Tyranitar can pose a big threat do this core as it is able to eat up most attacks thrown at him, while retaliating with strong Edges or playing mind-games with pursuit.
It can avoid the 2HKO from every of the cores attack. Only an Icicle Crash after Hazards combined with the flinch chance and the miss chance of Stone Edge can let Weavile beat TTar (Or Low Kick).

Dealing with Reuniclus can be much easier when running Crunch thats why its slashed.

If the Reuniclus is Grassy Seed with Energy Ball it gets a lot trickier as it is easier for Reuniclus to eat TTars hits and possibly beating it unless it actually runs Crunch. Furthermore the Energy Ball will do more damage therefore making it easier for Reuni to actually beat TTar.

Since that set wasnt slashed TTar poses a big threat to the core and can only be beaten by either luck or the not so common grassy seed Reuni
