I know what you're thinking. What could this measly little scrub of an NFE possibly be able to do in such a powerful OU metagame? Surely its strongest attacks thud into every mon and it drops to even the weakest moves. Not quite.

My name is Quacklord (or Quackborg and Iron Gender on ladder) and I have a team built around the burdened one himself, Sneasel-Hisui
Thanks to Aquiio for most of the mons and the Sneas spread and Gloomstalker for the idea to use it in the first place
the burdened one (Sneasel-Hisui) (M) @ Eviolite
Ability: Inner Focus
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Def / 216 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Gunk Shot
- Tera Blast
- Swords Dance

Now many sweepers in gen 9 seek to use Tera Blast to improve their coverage vs specific pokemon, usually ones that might wall them otherwise. Sneasler's typing, while very good, is naturally checked by :gliscor:, :landorus-therian:, and most poisons and ghosts. The way around this is tera blast water, to hit the first two as well as :iron-moth: and :ceruledge: super effectively, while also hitting :gholdengo: and :slowking-galar: for strong neutral damage. Tera dark throat chop is the other coverage option, but due to this teams weakness to :iron-moth:, :landorus-therian:, and :gliscor:, I chose tera blast water for those mus. The given evs outspeed :ogerpon-wellspring: and any other base 110s, and lives +1 booster :raging-bolt: thunderclap guaranteed from full. The reason to run sneasel over other mons with the same type or just other fighting types is it's very useful :darkrai: mu, as well as a resistance to :rillaboom: grassy glide. Where it really shines beyond decent bulk and power is that aforementioned speed tier, which lets it outpace quite a few fast mons in the meta rn, and lets it be very strong into webs teams with :araquanid: if it manages to hit its gunk shots, due to getting free setup with tera water, and nailing booster spa :iron-moth: with tera blast.
Great Tusk @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

Pretty standard rocks helmet tusk, only I opted for Knock Off over the usual Ice Spinner because my team otherwise has no Knock users and struggles into most boots mons. This does mean :gliscor: walls me, but I have other mons for that, plus :landorus-therian: doesn't even effectively wall due to rocks chip and not being able to annoy with helmet. Helmet on this is more of a useful utility thing for :kingambit: and U-Turn than an actual defensive pokemon, which is why it's still max attack
Gholdengo @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hex
- Thunder Wave
- Recover
- Make It Rain

Wherever hazards of any kind are, this jovial fellow is sure to follow. Once again a rather standard set of Thunder Wave Hex :gholdengo:, to make anyone without a spd ground like :clodsire: or :ting-lu: quiver in their boots. Para support is also key to allow :kingambit: to outspeed middling speed mons, and for :sneasel-hisui: to outspeed everything ever if they are parad.
Dragapult @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Tera Blast
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch

Another decently normal set, but instead of the Phantom Force or Psychic Fangs you usually see on Band :dragapult:, I instead have Sucker Punch to help in the mirror, vs Scarf :gholdengo:, and as a general option to chip down threats into range of the other Sucker mon, :kingambit:. On the point of having my actual ghost STAB be Tera Blast rather than Phantom Force, while having two Tera blast mons isn't the best, Phantom Force taking two turns makes it a lot worse than Tera blast at getting a quick suprise ko on things expecting Dragon Darts like :primarina: and :iron valiant:
Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 108 Def / 148 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Low Kick

A set I've wanted to try for a while now, Tera fight Low Kick is just as strong (or close at least) in terms of power to Tera dark Kowtow, with the benefit of hitting :great tusk:, :ting lu: and of course other :kingambit: very hard. Max speed is essential on Low Kick sets to at worst tie in the mirror match, and while jolly is an option usually isn't worth outside of webs. This is technically walled by :clefable: and :iron valiant:, but those are at least forced to respect the possibility of Iron Head so won't know they need to save them to wall you. Edited the spread to now live +1 :roaring moon: Tera ground Booster EQ after you tera, since Roost on that is a pretty big problem. However, it can still outspeed 0 speed :corviknight:
Primarina @ Assault Vest
Ability: Liquid Voice
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 52 HP / 252 SpA / 204 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Moonblast
- Flip Turn
- Psychic Noise

This team would be really rough against stall without Prima to spam Psynoise and Flip, but having it gives you a fighting chance. The speed actually allows you to outspeed 0 speed :gliscor:, and while it can cut into your bulk a little it is still pretty useful to have the option overall. This is also scarily the only way the team can really deal with Tera water :garganacl: besides maybe :kingambit: if you are able to use tera, and that can potentially be shaky. Psy Noise Moonblast can still usually clutch up as long as you're not low, though, and once you force it out once it's usually easy to not let it in again.

:volcanion: can be pretty annoying for this team to handle, since it softwalls :primarina: and hits it with sludge bomb, as well as being able to fish for burns with wisp. If you see this in the preview, gotta play more offensively and know you prob dont wanna bring :primarina: out until it's pretty low.
:lokix: why tf does tusk take so much from tera U-Turn? gonna need to lean on ghold a lot in this mu, although overall thats not specific to this team as much as it is most teams like this.
:pelipper: By this I don't mean Peli itself, but moreso rain due to the team lacking a reliable water resist physically. As I type this I realize tera water :gholdengo: might be cool, I'll test later and if it works I'll update. But the worst of all is when shit like :barraskewda: starts spamming Flip Turn, because then you know things are about to get dicey (and that's why sucker pult is amazing).
:darkrai: With wisp it can be annoying, assuming it has a :primarina: switchin it can usually try to outlast this team. Once again :dragapult: will be your best friend, although it needs slight chip for Dragon Darts to guaranteed OHKO.
:torkoal: Basically the same reason as rain, although at least the sun sweepers tend to be more special attackers so :primarina: can do more

EDIT: I forgot proof of peak, kiiiinda important lmfao

Cool team and congrats on the peak!

quick question tho, let’s say hypothetically ur fighting a roost moon and webs are up, what’s the game plan there? seems like something that this team could struggle with (:

nah, i'd win uhhhh i might wanna put a bit more bulk +1 252+ Atk Protosynthesis Tera Ground Roaring Moon Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Tera Fighting Kingambit: 313-369 (91.7 - 108.2%) -- 50% chance to OHKO but if tusk is at full it can't ko you in one. No one ever expects sucker pult so that should be able to revenge, but if you're worried they will expect it you can just gambit and sd like a boss and that puts them in a much harder position since they now get ohkod if you land a sucker

throughout heaven and earth i alone am the burdened one

Goated team, I really like it. Spent the last hour laddering with it and it performed really well. The stall matchup feels like it could be a little better depending on what variant you play against but it still doesn’t do terribly into it. The sneasel is a real surprise factor which I love. Pairing Sneasel with Band Pult was a really good decision because anything I had difficulty breaking through with Sneasel would subsequently be broken by Pult.

yeah, you really need to lean on pult + prima for stall, as sad as i am to say sneas is pretty dogshit if they have a brain and just go dozo. the best strat vs stall is try to catch clef with a tera blast and atp just spam u turn whittle it down, since most blissey let u in pretty freely. Also the wo chien stall thats floating around high ladder rn has no dozo and as such can sorta be cooked by sneas, so if you face that its a hell of a game

Congratulations for the ranking and teambuilding using a NFE. The replay of Nitro611 was amazing. Keep up the good work. I really appreciate to see something different, it's so fun, refreshing, and still working ! Karen was right about weak pokemon.
