the true palkia counter....

i do not know if anyone has realized this yet, but the one true counter to palkia is not grass arceus unless the palkia is a choice scarfer in wich case he will probably switch out... but in any case with theexception of the aforementioned CS palkia... jolly GARCHOMP is the the ultimate counter to palkia! the poor space god gets outran by garchomp and OHKOed buy a un orbed, unCBed dragon rush or outrage... GG palkia. i discovered this from my own experience by using my jolly garchomp, Alien, in uber battles, and not one palkia has successfully survived dragon rush from him, and his IV in-game LOW(342 attack at level 100). most would use outrage on garchomp for this purpose instead of outrage, and i would too if it was for palkia, just for safety's sakes
 
yeah but garchomp cant switch into pakia.... the definition of a counter is being able to switch in and take a hit and then Ko it. Garchomp cant switch into ice beam or draco meteor or dragon pulse
 
i use a yache berry to compensate for ice beam, and i probably wouldnt bring him in unless someone fainted, or the palkia uses thunder or surf.. so he can viably switch in from kyogre or ground arceus etc
 
if you switch in after someone has been killed by palkia then it has alreayd taken out a pokemon and its already done its job as killing it with garchomp wont give you an advantage it will only even it out. ALso dragon rush is inaccurate and Outrage in ubers is just asking for ScarfKyogre Metagross and Forretress to come out and set up/kill you
 
This is pretty ridiculous. You do know that a "counter" needs to be able to switch in on the pokemon that it is intended to "counter"?

The closest you will get to countering Palkia is Shedinja.
 
more or less, but the only real ubers that can stand up to the way i have alien set up is darkrai that hits with dark void, deoxys-A, mewtwo(iffy cuz i use a yache berry), latios/latias
but again, he can switch into a thunder from palkia or surf from non specs palkia, maybe orb.. depends of the damage roll

EVs: 4 hp/ 252 atk/ 252 spd
Dragon rush/outrage(i prefer dragon rush for veratility)
crunch
EQ
stone edge

give it a try.. you wont regret it.. the only thing that really walls him in OU is bronzong and skarm, unless stone edge crits
 
because i use both and garchomp outruns most ubers... and risks is part of the game i play, and it gets me places. metagross wants to come into my DDray? i usually see that one coming and switch in garchomp, or just not use outrage right away
 
Why would Palkia run Ice Beam when it has STAB Special Rend / Roar of Time to counter Dragons?

well, garchomp in Uber isn't wrong, someone use it already, ask jibaku...
Btw is wrong as counter... and also I don't know how is used :/ maybe scarfed?

Well, see, you just proved the original guys post, as long as Palkia isn't running either of his STAB attacks (because really who does that anyway?) Garchomp acts as an excellent counter.
 
@Why would you use Garchomp in ubers when you could just use a much godlier Rayquaza?
Garchomp is amazing in ubers for those of you who are dissing him. All of his sets in the analysis, except the chain chomp, function well in ubers and a couple of things like the lati@s have to change their speed evs to outrun mas speed garchomp. EDIT: but he doesn't counter palkia.

No palkia is going to use a 95 ice beam when it has 150 spacial rend. The only move i ever ran to stop grass arceus was flamthrower/fireblast because i had a sunnyteam and wanted a palkia.
 
Wouldn't dialga work? Good defences, and 1x everything except Earth power, which is unlikely on Palkia.

Grachomp wouldn't survive a surf or a dragon move to be honest.. it would die as it is switching in...

Palkia doesn't get Roar of Time, and even if it did, why run it?
