Hello everyone, I have been playing UU beta for a bit, and I've been trying out a bunch of different pokemon in the tier. After a bunch of playing around, I feel that I have a pretty decent hyper offensive team, but would like to make a few changes here and there. Without ado, here's the team.
Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EV Spread: 4 HP, 252 Spa, 252 Spd
Modest Nature
Moves:
U Turn
Fire Blast
Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Hydreigon is more of a late game sweeper, but can be used to revenge kill. U turn is to create part of a volturn core, in my opinion a necessity in many teams, dark pulse and dragon pulse for dual STAb, dealing a lot of damage and fire blast for coverage against steels. It's a monster in UU, with little able to wall it's hits and can help wallbreak a little.
Arcanine @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EV Spread: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
Moves:
Flare Blitz
Close Combat
Extreme Speed
Wild Charge
This Arcanine set is very standard, and for good reason. Intimidate allows you to take at least 1 hit and retaliate with extremely powerful hits. Flare blitz is immensely powerful on arcanine even without flash fire, close combat takes out rock types that can threaten it, extreme speed is a very nice move, +2 priority is nothing to scoff at and wild charge is simply for the water types that are dominant in this tier, for example blastoise and milotic.
Roserade @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EV Spread: 4 HP, 252 Spa, 252 Spd
Timid Nature
Moves:
Hidden Power Fire
Sludge Bomb
Giga Drain
Sleep Powder
Roserade is here to help with hydreigon's fairy weakness. While most of the roserade's I see run the utility set, this roserade is an all out offensive, and why not, this is a hyper offensive team after all. The hidden power drop benefits roserade, allowing for a base 90 hidden power, sludge bomb for fairies such as florges and clefable, mainly clefable as it normally runs bold max def, giga drain for recovery and sleep powder simply to aid the team by putting pokemon to sleep
Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod (Intimidate)
EV Spread: 252 Spa, 4 Sdef, 252 Spd
Timid Nature
Moves:
Hidden Power Ice
Volt Switch
Thunderbolt
Flamethrower
Mega manectric, an amazing mega in my opinion, but don't take my opinion so seriously, as it is kinda biased. It works well with hydreigon, levitate covering it's ground weakness and also forms a volturn core with hydreigon. The intimidate drop also helps, allowing manectric to live some hits that would otherwise OHKO it and lightningrod also helps give a good immunity and a special attack boost if switched in on the right time.
Metagross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EV Spread: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
Moves:
Bullet Punch
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Zen Headbutt
Metagross in this tier is amazing. It is hurt by the steel nerf, but the introduction of the assault vest now allows metagross, in my opinion one of the best users of the item, to take hits very well and retaliate back. Meteor mash is the main STAB, with the chance of the attack raise, bullet punch is there for priority, zen headbutt is another STAB option with the option of flinching those who aren't faster and earthquake is mainly for coverage.
Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EV Spread: 252 HP, 4 Atk, 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
Moves:
Brave Bird
Defog
U Turn
Taunt
Crobat is my main lead, functioning as a scout for the team. Defog is obvious, removing those screens and hazards that cripple hyper offence teams, u turn to scout, gain momentum and add to the volturn core, taunt for walls that can cause problems with moves such as toxic and will-o-wisp and brave bird as a main STAB option that, even with little attack investments, deals much more than I expect to many pokemon.
Threats:
Bisharp: After boosting up with a swords dance, bisharp poses quite a big threat, dealing a lot of damage with sucker punch to any pokemon before taking it out.
Swampert: I have had some troubles with swampert before roserade was added, as it can potentially sweep my team if roserade goes down, with ice, water and ground moves for my team.
Diggersby: Obviously, this team has a quite a big ground weakness. Diggersby can really damage my team, carrying coverage for most of my team. Like Swampert, if roserade goes down, diggersby will become a very big threat.
Edit:
After some thinking, I think I may replace crobat with another pokemon that could potentially counter the ground types that threaten my team. Enter Flygon.
Flygon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EV Spread: 252 Atk, 4 Sdef, 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
Moves:
Defog
Earthquake
U turn
Dragon Claw
This may come bite me in the @ss a bit. Flygon does provide the same fast defog support, add to the volturn core and posses nice STAB moves, but will add a fairy weakness to the team, unlike crobat and with my only fairy resist carrying no recovery, replacing crobat will cause a bit more trouble around fairies.
