Hey guys I'm Mishimono back with another RMT. I thought i'd post one now to celebrate 500 posts.(I post way too much) This a team I built that seems to be working fairly well and would like to share it as the new season has been announced. I originally was only going to post a team because Steven Stone said he needed to get team rater or somethin
As this is a Salamence RMT he is my mega pokemon. I favourite set for Salamence is the mixed set as that allows it to function even when burned or Intimidated.
Next I added Heatran to help check fairies, it has good synergy with Salamence who is immune to Earthquake while Heatran resists fairy and ice.
Next I added Amoonguss because my matchup with bulky waters was really bad. Amoonguss also provides redirection support which is really helpful.
After Amoonguss I thought my team had a bit of a problem with Thundurus and Cresselia so I added Tyranitar.
With the addition of Tyranitar I felt Amoonguss wasn't enough to help with all the bulky waters so I added Gastrodon which beat most bulky waters 1 on 1 with Storm Drain
My team at this point was very slow and no ways of speed control so I added Trick Room Cresselia which greatly helps my slower pokemon.
Saladence (Salamence-Mega) @ Salamencite
Ability: Aerilate
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 20 Atk / 236 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Draco Meteor
- Double-Edge
- Protect
Salamence is one of the best megas in VGC as it has access to some of the strongest STAB attacks in the game. Hyper Voice is used as a powerful spread move that can do lots of damage to Grass-types like Amoonguss, Breloom and gets lots of chip damage overall. Draco Meteor is useful to hit pokemon like Thundurus and Rotom-Wash and even after the Spa drop Salamence can continue to use Double-Edge. Double-Edge is a very strong single target STAB move that does lots of damage to pokemon with lower defense like Charizard and Sylveon. Protect allows Salamence to mega evolve safely. The EV spread allows Sapamence to OHKO Max HP and Def Amoonguss and 252 spe makes great use of the 120 Spe.
Trammer (Heatran) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
Level: 50
EVs: 44 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 204 Spe
Modest Nature
- Heat Wave
- Flash Cannon
- Protect
- Earth Power
Heatran is one of the best partners to Mega Salamence as it can check common fairy and steel-types. Heat Wave is powerful STAB spread move that can get lots of damage on grass and steel types and is overall great for doing bits of damage. Flash Cannon is a secondary STAB move that can make it easier to counter pokemon like Sylveon and Gardevoir. Earth Power is mainly only used to hit other Heatran and to stop Aegislash from spamming Wide Guard. Protect does what protect does. The EV spread allows Heatran to live Adamant Landorus-T Earthquake and outspeed Bisharp.
MoonShroom (Amoonguss) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpD
Relaxed Nature
0 Spe IVs
- Giga Drain
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Protect
Amoonguss helps the team out with bulky waters and works well under Trick Room as it gets a very fast Spore. Giga Drain is the only attacking move on Amoonguss which does decent damage to bulky waters and heals up Amoonguss. Spore is useful in giving other team members free turns to kill a threat or switch out. Rage Powder can also give free turns which can be very useful is redirceting Fairy, water-type moves away from other members. Protect is useful on Amoonguss as many players will double target it because of the Spore threat. The EV spread allows Amoonguss to live Jolly Metagross Zen Headbutt and live weaker special hits like Milotic and Politoed's Ice Beams.
Teamtar (Tyranitar) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
0 Spe IVs
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Low Kick
- Protect
Tyranitar is very useful on this team to help with pokemon like Cresselia and Thundurus which otherwise the team is weak too. Rock Slide is a nice spread move that has that100% to flinch which is useful under Trick Room. Also I should note that Tyranitar's Rock Slide actually does damage unlike Landorus-T's. Crunch is a secondary STAB move that hits pokemon like Cresselia and aegislash which otherwise can beat Tyranitar. Low Kick is useful for hitting steel-types like Heatran and Bisharp as well as Kanga under TR. I decided to use Life Orb on this Tyranitar as I felt my team wasn't offensive enough under Trick Room. The EV spread is simple but seems to get the job done.
Down the Drain (Gastrodon) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Storm Drain
Level: 50
EVs: 204 HP / 100 Def / 196 SpA / 8 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Protect
Gastrodon is probably my favourite pokemon on the team as it greatly improves my bulky waters matchup and can easily beat some of the most common pokemon. Scald is the first STAB move which is mainly used on neutral targets because of it's chance to burn, it is also useful in hitting pokemon with Levitate and Volcarona. Ice Beam hits Landorus-T and Salamence for lots of damage and just gives Gastrodon overall better coverage. Earth Power is the second STAB move which is useful in hitting fire types who won't get burned anyway and overall just hits fairly hard with Expert Belt. Since I can't make slug spreads I just used the one from FloristtheBudew and gave it 0 Spe IVS. It OHKOs Terrakion and Mawile with Earth Power while living Adamant Salamence Double-Edge 70% of the time and Mega Mawile Play Rough. Oh ya and shoutouts to BlueSkiddoWeCanToo for the amazing nickname.
SpaceDuck (Cresselia) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 220 HP / 100 Def / 188 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Helping Hand
Cresselia was added onto the team because I felt my team was really slow and worked in trick Room quite well. Trick Room is the only form of speed control on the team but it speeds up alot of my mons. Psychic is Cresselia's STAB move mainly used to hit pokemon like Amoonguss and Conkedurr as it doesn't do alot of damage if not hitting super effective. Ice Beam is mainly used to Landorus-T and Salamence but also does decent damage to Thundurus and Zapdos. Helping Hand is really useful in bosting the many spread moves this team has and helps make up for Cresselia's lack of offensive pressure. The EV spread lives Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off and OHKO's 4 HP Landorus-T with Ice Beam.
Well that is the team. If you would like to suggest something this is a VGC 15 team and will not be using it next season so no adding Kyogre over stuff.
