[SET 1]
Seed Sneasler @ Psychic Seed/Grassy Seed
Ability: Unburden
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying/Dark
EVs: 252 Atk/ 4 SpD/ 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dire Claw
- Close Combat
- Acrobatics/Throat Chop
- Protect
[SET COMMENTS]
- Sneasler is an excellent attacker with powerful attacks that threaten staples of the meta such as Rillaboom and Kingambit, as well as a powerful signature move in Dire Claw to roll status afflictions.
- This set utilises its Unburden ability to combo with a terrain setter (Indeedee/Rillaboom respectively) in order to double its already excellent speed.
- It utilises the Tera Flying type to fire off STAB 110 BP Acrobatics, but Tera Dark allows it to use Throat Chop to turn the tables on Psyspam Indeedee/Armarouge and beat Gholdengo, which would wall it.
- Pros:
Thanks to Unburden doubling its speed, it outspeeds most of the relevant meta, even mons like Garchomp and Gholdengo boosted by Tailwind, letting it be one of the most effective revenge killers in the metagame and snipe frail, fast mons like Meowscarada.
- Cons:
Even boosted by its Seed item, its defenses are frankly pitiful, letting it be taken down by many mons if it cant kill them first.
[SET 2]
Sash Sneasler @ Focus Sash
Ability: Poison Touch
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dark/Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk/ 4 SpD/ 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Dire Claw
- Close Combat
- Throat Chop/Fake Out
- Protect
[SET COMMENTS]
- Sneasler is an excellent attacker with powerful attacks that threaten staples of the meta such as Rillaboom and Kingambit, as well as a powerful signature move in Dire Claw to roll status afflictions. This set utilises Poison Touch and Focus Sash to deal the maximum amount of damage to the opposing Pokemon, through both status afflictions and damage.
- Thanks to Dire Claw's 50% chance to cause status and then Poison Touch's 30% chance to cause poison, Sneasler has a whopping 65% chance to cause status when it uses Dire Claw.
- Its Focus Sash item also aids its frailty.
- Its Tera Dark set lets it defeat foes like Indeedee and Armarouge with Throat Chop.
- Its Tera Ghost set lets it become immune to Fake Out and use its own Fake Out (the fastest relevant Fake Out in the game) to enable other threats like Gholdengo or Trick Room users like Porygon-2.
Pros:
- Can live at least one hit, allowing it to be more flexible with its playstyle.
- Poison Touch and Dire Claw allow statusing opponents to be quite a bit easier.
Cons:
- Doesn't have the speed of its Unburden set, letting it be revenge killed easier.

============
- Sneasler works well with Pokemon that can supplement its poor bulk and utilise its powerful set of tools. Pokemon like Rillaboom, that can use Fake Out to stop threats from KOing Sneasler, and Pokemon like Indeedee and Electabuzz that can use Follow Me to redirect attacks from Sneasler, can work with both sets.
- Good partners for Sash Sneasler in specific include Whimsicott, which can make up for its loss of speed that the Unburden set enjoys with Tailwind. It is also paired with Gholdengo, who as aforementioned, appreciates Sneasler's Fake Out to set up with Nasty Plot, and also appreciates it removing threats like Kingambit for it. It also pairs well with mons like Incineroar, that can defend it to allow it to take KOs, and Kingambit, which can deal with the main mon that outspeeds it, Dragapult. The Fake Out set also synergises well with Porygon-2, outspeeding every Fake Out user and keeping Porygon-2 safe to set up Trick Room.
- Seed Sneasler must be partnered with Rillaboom or Indeedee/Indeedee-F to work. Other good partners are Kingambit, which helps Sneasler out by eliminating Psychic types and Gholdengo and in turn, appreciates Sneasler taking out threats such as Body Press Archaludon and other Sneasler with Acrobatics. Choice Scarf Indeedee-M in specific, synergises well with this set, as Sneasler can weaken Pokemon and put them in range of its Expanding Force, or take out threats to it like Kingambit and Incineroar.
Strategy Comments
============
- Sneasler's main gameplan is to play as either a frontline sweeper or a revenge killer, based on the gamestate and opposing team.
- Gameplay with the Seed set should focus on leading into frailer teams, attempting to take Kos whilst being supported by its Terrain setter of choice, whereas into bulkier teams, using Dire Claw to roll for crippling afflictions and revenge killing weaker mons is more effective. Gameplay with the Sash set almost always focuses on simply being a frontline sweeper, and where Sneasler cannot take KOs it should roll for afflictions with Dire Claw.
- The biggest threat to Sneasler is Gholdengo, who walls all its other sets other than its Throat Chop set, which it can tera out of and hit Sneasler hard on its mediocre SpDef stat. Incineroar is also a threat as it can nerf Sneasler's attack while having good enough bulk to live a Close Combat.
