Alright, guys! Challenge time! Let's see if we can make a team with the most immunities possible for Gen 9 National Dex!
The rules are simple!
Without any further ado, Letsa go!
We're starting off with our reliably versatile lead. When talking about immunities, what could be better for the task than a LITERAL WASHING MACHINE?!

a washing machine (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
Water/Electric is a GREAT typing! It levitates too, so with no damage from ground, it's only weak to grass! AND NOBODY USES GRASS! And if THAT wasn't good enough, this bulky boy can clean up your hazards and... BURN PEOPLE?! Did I buy this from Hell's Costco or something? Makes sense, because it can turn into a Ghost! That way, it can block rapid spins and take on the mighty Great Tusk!
Yeah, the SV Game Devs didn't even try with the Paradox Names. Why not something cool, like Tuskquake or something?
Oh, but of course, we can't have an immunities team without an enemy from Mother 3, right? It's only the BEST UNLOCALIZED GAME EVER! Here comes the Negative Man!

Negative Man (Gholdengo) @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
Yeah, I don't think I need to explain why Gholdengo is on the team. But for the one person on this planet who doesn't know, it's Steel/Ghost typing is phenomenal, being immune to poison, normal, and fighting! And it's also immune to ALL STATUS MOVES?!
See, this is what happens when billionaires don't pay their taxes...
Oh, yeah. Give it Covert Cloak TOO, why don't ya? That way, nobody finds a corporate loophole and doesn't get affected by a secondary attack! It really is unstoppable! "Thief? Knock off? WHAT'S THAT?!"
By the way, Landorous is overrated. Sure, it's immune to electric AND ground, but can it heal from poison?!

Mr. Krabs (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost/Protect
- Earthquake
- Facade
That's right, I THOUGHT NOT! Landorous is USELESS! Anything Lando does, Gliscor does better! Ooooh, Toxic Orb AND Facade, who is another Mother 3 enemy? THIS IS JUST THE BEST DAY EVER! The reason why we tera type Gliscor to Steel is that it just can't stand ice or the cold. Another viable option is to use Protect instead of Roost to avoid any pesky Knock Offs or Will-O-Wisps. Because once you're poisoned, the only thing that can stop you is-
a washing machine... a ghostly washing machine... wow it seems my team is too powerful, even for ME!
Oh, and how could we forget? Fire is very common in the metagame. So how do we fight fire? WITH FIRE!

Vladamir (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 196 SpD / 60 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Taunt
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
Yeah, I don't think I need to explain why this one is on the team too. We already know why steel is a good type, and Flash Fire gives free Fire Immunity. Although, this bulky boy is very versatile with its stealth rock and taunt. We don't even NEED Steel Coverage, because Magma Storm already does enough. Who thought it was a good idea to tera type Heatran to the grass type? Because it WORKS! Earthquake KILLS Heatran, and grass resists ground while still being "weak" to fire! GENIUS!
Now here's someone you probably weren't expecting. You wouldn't typically think of this one being on an immunities team, but here it is!
Rocket Racoon (Lopunny-Mega) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Return
- Fake Out
- U-turn/Ice Punch
Not only is it immune to ghost-type attacks, but it can also punch typically un-punchable ghosts like Sableye and Gholdengo. The fake-out hits like a truck, which is how you know that they won't get a chance to take you down!
No immunities post is complete without the arguably best Pokemon in the tier. Please don't ban it, it's one of the only OU Pokemon I like.
Queen (Kingambit) (F) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Iron Head
Introducing the last line of defense. "My friends were holding me back" is what the Kingambits always say. Steel and Dark make a wonderful typing, and this team NEEDS an immunity to psychic! Oh, and Fairy makes for an excellent defensive type that resists fighting! The other team will pay for wiping out your little monsters!
Alternatives!
Here are some members of the team that I originally planned to use, but didn't make the cut. Feel free to try them out, though!
Zoroark-Hisui @ Focus Sash
Ability: Illusion
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Hyper Voice
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
Obviously, Zoroark has the best defensive typing in the game! Immune to Normal, Fighting, AND Ghost? It's only weakness is DARK?! You can seriously trick people with this thing! It can even counter Annihlape!
I'm still mad that they banned Annihlape, by the way...
Why wouldn't ANYONE use this in their immunities team?
Well... it's because it's bad at not dying...
Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Taunt
- Hex
Mega Sableye is just so versatile! It gets Prankster AND Magic Bounce?! Not to mention, its defensive typing is soooooo good! It has no weaknesses (except for fairy), and it's immune to normal, fighting, AND psychic! Why didn't I use it? Well... Gholdengo just does a better job... Prankster does nothing to you if you have Good as Gold.
Kartana @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword
- Knock Off
Something my team didn't have was a grass type. Grass types are immune to Powder Moves, which most of the team is not. Kartana's Grass/Steel typing is a great defensive typing, and it moves and hits like a truck! Why didn't I use it? I just had too many steel types...
Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Dragon Claw
- Dual Wingbeat
Something else my team was lacking was Fairy Types, and what could be a better dragon killer than a PEACOCK?! Mega Altaria is just soooooooooooo good in battle, but given the choice between Mega Lopunny and Mega Altaria, I chose Mega Lopunny. Her typing is worse, but she gets a better ability with superior speed and strength. Our team just needed to get rid of bulky ghost types somehow.
Clodsire @ Black Sludge
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Toxic
- Haze
- Earthquake
- Gunk Shot
As much as I love Clodsire as much as I hate to reject its adorable little face, Clodsire just isn't the same without using Unaware. But if I choose Unaware, I can't use Water Absorb, which kinda defeats the whole purpose.
Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
Despite Steel/Fairy's downright OP typing which made Zacian-Crowned WAY more OP than she needed to be, Mega Mawile is just too slow to be on the team. I love this thing, but... sorry.
Tell me what you think of this team? What Pokmon should I have kept and cut? Thanks for reading!
The rules are simple!
- All Pokemon on the team MUST have immunities! (Obviously)
- Immunities alone are not enough! What good is having an immunity if they can't be good in a fight?
- No Dragonite Allowed! Why?
Because I hate Dragonite, that's why.
Without any further ado, Letsa go!
